The foreign interests of Papua New Guinea resources

What is happening in Libya, and the rest of the Muslim world is about imposing the removing the tenets of Islam & Autocracy and substituting it with the best vehicle of extraction (by the West) called democracy. Democracy itself is no answer to all the problems of the world. If you look deep into the abyss of democracy, you will hear the wailing of the poor and the hungry, the desperate cries of the dispossessed and the oppressed.

It is not the will of the people as such expressed. It is the rule by a few, or in the case of PNG, Parliament and Cabinet have become rubberstamps for the Prime Minister. So it is in other countries, where under the guize of democracy, the World Bank, ADB, IMF and other UN Agencies have created poverty by sinking the hooks of debt into resource rich countries to enable them to dictate their terms of extraction. This has left many nations in Africa in crisis and civil war.

In PNG, we continue to have the mindset that someone else is going to come out of the blue and rescue us from our poverty or our dark night of material poverty. Peter Oneill seems to think Australia will come and solve his crime and law and order problems for him.

In the context of this desparate game of extraction for supremacy that is going on O'Neill must have rocks in his head to subject our unsuspecting people to the ECP and such other contraptions of Australian deception, which enables them to graze on the green pastures of our childrens future. They are already here rewiring the nation for their convenience.

Now before we rush off and consider Bougainville, spare a thought for Oktedi, the mighty Fly River, and the great Australian called BHP. Yes it is the same Australians who talk about Health care, who cry over the environment, who poitificate over transparency and accountability, who shelter and allow BHP to carry on, inspite and despite its dismal rendering dead of a mighty River and its total food chain linking humanity.

BHP got Mekere Morauta and PDM to gift them a golden farewell with immunities and indemnities-thanks to fleet footed diplomacy, wink wink and a few nods from Australian High Com and Canberra to Mekere. The deal was done. Australia protected BHP, employed Allens the big law firm to draft legislation for the PNG Parliament to pass and we passed it and sold our souls.

As for Bougainville, the extractive forces are at work. We have lost too much needless blood ( both black and red skin) over our resources now to fall for the same trick. Bougainville has Ausaid consultants pretending to work for Bougainville but really for Canberra massaging them into compliance for the sake of the Anglo-Aussie interests.

In these trying times, the guiding principles should be to preserve our natural and social environment, and obtain a fair return for our resources, which is not what the PNG government currently sells it resources for- but a new deal that should be approached from context of value of total reserves, and increased as reserves increase. We have been cheated far too many times over Lihir and Porgera. Bougainville does not belong to Bougainville only.

It belongs to all of us, just as Porgera is and LNG is. ..except OKtedi ( it belongs to Australia and BHP).

AUGUSTINE MANO PNG'S PREMIER CORPORATE CROOK

The court ruled that MRDC's appeal was an "abuse of process" and ordered the company to pay costs of the proceedings. MRDC, a unit holder in PBF, had taken legal action against the National Court's decision to dismiss its case, arguing that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter. MARAPE & PAITA ABOUT TO SIGN AWAY PNG GOLD
