BREAKING.. NAMAH CALLS ON O'NEILL TO RESIGN

MARRIAGE BREAKING UP?
Belden Namah is calling "Prime Minister" Peter O'Neil to resign over the Indonesian 'falcon mishap' due to apparent differences on the matter. A very serious call by Namah and even putting his name up to be alternate PM come Parliament sitting next week.

The O'Neil/Namah led faction is now showing signs of dis-contentment in leadership styles especially when the current political 'impasse' has yet to be resolved in the proper manner. The Unions will closely monitor developments with the PNG Power Energy workers Union extremely concerned about politics creeping into the Organisation.

Clearly the coalition can't go on when O'Neill continues to undermine the authority of his deputy by reversing his decisions.(The latest one over Namah's threat to expel Indonesian diplomats if there is no satisfactory explanation and apology for the mid-flight incident on November 29.) Clearly the O'Neill/Namah government was never a match made in heaven. We will bring updates as this is breaking.

UPDATE @ 5:30PM O'NEILL WILL NOT REACT TO CALLS

PM O'Neill released a media statement and held a media conference this afternoon, saying that he will not react to outburst by his deputy Belden Namah to resign over the Falcon jet incident.

O'Neill said there was no need to continue creating political instability in the country and that he and his deputy and leaders of his coalition will resolve all political differences in-house.

The issue in contention is straight-forward, and is being dealt with at the diplomatic and government to government level, and O'Neill further said the official PNG position in respect of diplomatic relations and protocols with Indonesia since independence in 1975 remained unchanged.

"We are not going to further destabilise our nation by abusing and usurping the power of our people as exercised through their elected representatives.

"We have an executive government in office that is recognised by Parliament and we shall continue to discharge duties and responsibiities expected of us responsibly and maturely,"O'Neill said in his media statement.
