PNG CHIEF JUSTICE ARRESTED! UNDER POLICE CUSTODY

CJ Injia now under Police custody
Confirmations this morning that the Chief Justice of Papua New Guinea Sir Salamo Injia has been arrested by Police at his chambers in the National and Supreme Court. He is currently in Police custody, this is developing and we will post updates as we recieve them.  

A phone call from the National Court this morning indicates armed policemen have entered the premises of the National and Supreme Court of PNG and arrested the Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia. Court official calling says the CJ is currently in POLICE custody
  
Salamo was arrested this morning by police, who were fully armed and gained access to the judges car park at Waigani this morning, when another senior judge was entering for work. Salamo and Registrar are now at Police HQ. At this stage, no confirmation as yet on WHY he was arrested. Blake Dawson Lawyers are now heading down there also. Court functions have not been suspended as yet. 

Staff at the court house have expressed mixed feelings of emotions as it is not the first time such has happened within their arena of justice. Lawyers, Judges and staff at the Courts told this newsroom say that they have had enough of such intrusions, and they believe it was a directive from the top.

  2. It's a very sad day for the judiciary and justice system in png. We are now allowing the legislature to become more powerfull, contrary to the constitution. The arrest is politically motivated. To you Kulunga- Are you really going by the book to enforce the law or are you being politically controlled? You should be behind bars. Shame on you. Real Cop.
