Missing Pieces In The Polye Puzzle

Have we all noticed how Don Polye is playing his cards since entering parliament? Well this is one that Don Polye is someone we need to watch carefully as his moves in the recent past are all well planned. Something we can say as clever tactics.

He was already a leader before he entered parliament. We are slowly seeing the fruits of his clever moves. He has a registered political party, a move which worked out so well when he gained the favor of most NA members and partners. He was the deputy PM under the Somare regime, but was overlooked for the acting  PM post when Somare was sick. Why did he not make a big issue like what the rest of our representatives and other heads of departments do  - filing a new case in court? Simply, time was not right.

He gladly accepts any decisions that the regime he is in makes without making an issue out of it. Why? When the rumor was out that he was to replace Belden Namah as deputy PM, we all have seem his response. "I dont want to create instability" was his simple reply. When he was briefly sacked as the Finance minister, there was no noise from him.

Who was he defending when the Motigate investigation was tabled in Parliament?  Sir MIchael? Yes Sir Michael reacted but he never saw what was obscured in the defense Don Polye put on. All because he has bigger plans than this.

He reacts to issues he sees as a threat to his big plan. He defends himself so well making it all legit, no one takes a second glance at the real issue. PNG we are know to have knee-jerk reactions to issues and once that passes, we tend to forget all about it and carry on life as normal. Something Don Polye has used so cleverly to his advantage.

Well what is the "Big Plan"? He sees himself as a PM material. That's for sure. The chair he plans to sit on for quite a long time before bowing out of politics. He has been with different ruling groups long enough that he has learnt a lot. Been with people who have been in politics when he was still a young man and being in a group that claims to be the young and energetic who will move the nation forward, he has seen it all.

He has the experience, he has a party of which he is the leader, he will definitely have the numbers or will muster the numbers. That is surely to happen. The only thing that will make or break him is the elections. Many current leaders will go to the polls with the hope of retaining their seats. Some will resort to dirty tactics which is what every one is expecting. Intending candidates will no doubt have many points to use  to sway voters their way.

Kandep Open was the first seat to be declared in the country in the last election. Are we expecting the same this election? Only time will tell. If Don Polye retains his seat, he is definitely someone to watch as he will try to put his plan to test. Like a jigsaw puzzle, he has pieced together every thing perfectly, just a few remaining pieces and the puzzle is complete.

  3. Do not be fooled. Polye is not a good leader. He has big ego. His actions are cunning. His calculated odds are political mileage in Kandep but may not replicate support in other places. Bad luck Polye.

  4. For those who doubt Polye, I'm happy to tell u all that He is the next PM after the Nat Elections because he is a True Leader. His Party will bring in more members, as it is THE Party.
Go Don, All the Very Best !!

  5. Don is not bad, sounds to be OK, But unfortunately the idiot with the large sums of cash to bribe for numbers may win as this has always being the norm in PNG politics.

  6. Don seems to be a very humble and charismatic Leader PNG has ever had. He has the leadership talent, political skill, and inteligence of a Prime Minister. As it is now, after the creation of his own Party, he now has all the ingredients to be PM.

  7. How does a Papuan typan looks and what are it's fanks and it's content? Yes, looks good from outside, is cunning and crafty and very poisonous indeed. Any one who is like a serpent will fool some people some of the time but not all the people all the time. We know DPP will not win many seats. Even if he does he does not command respect of all regions except one whose present crop of leaders have no integrity!!!
