PETER ONEILL IS NO LONGER WELCOME AS PRIME MINISTER OF PNG

The United Nations is spot on with its warning of Peter ONeill and Belden Namah government. Peter ONeill & Belden Namah are legends in their own minds. They think they can play their stupid games with the judiciary to maintain the illegally gotten power and keep pulling the wool over the eyes of the world, but the world has been watching and monitoring their every move.

It is obvious that Australia, having compromised its own position with earlier recognition of O'Namah government, has prompted the UN to call Peter ONeill to attention. In a sense Australia having given the loaded gun to ONeill & Namah, is now trying  persuade them not to shoot the Judiciary.

Some observers would say Australia does not know what it is doing with its foreign policy as far as PNG is concerned. Some would say Australia made a terrible mistake in recognizing ONeill-Namah government.

The implications and the results of the Australian recognition of ONeill are very clear. We have all had to live with it all in the last 9 months. Australian recognition meant:

1. It was OK for Peter ONeill to wrestle power in breach of the Constitution of PNG.

2. It was OK for Peter ONeill to Prime Minister of PNG (change government)even though it was within 18 months of Issue of writs.

3. It was OK for Parliament to do whatever it pleased because it was superior to the Courts.

4. It was OK for Australia and other countries to recognize the ONamah government even though their legitimacy was before the courts- further pre-empting the courts and directing the Supreme Court to follow Australia's lead it would seem.

5. It was OK to attack Judges personally for the decisions they make, acting judicially ( and so we have seen lies conjecture and innuendo being thrown at the Chief Justice by the ONamah government with the catchcry of no one is above the law). Indeed no one is above the law, and if they care to examine their own conduct, they both as executive and legislature are exceeding their powers under the Constitution in compromising the Independence of the Judiciary, and clearly acting in contempt of Court. [ Even such conduct has gone without a single whimper of protest from Australia because they have compromised their position very very badly].

Australia who controls both the Ombudsman Commission and Transparency international in PNG has kept  very very quiet. Both the Ombudsman and TI have also kept very quiet despite the breaches of numerous aspects of the Leadership Code by the ONamah government.

The UN has also been notably silent on the worrying developments courtesy of the ONamah goverment. The UN actually dropped the ball.

Australia who also control the Judiciary somewhat and have invested so much Aid in the Judiciary thought the 3 men bench on the 12th of December 2011 would follow their cue of recognition of the ONamah government. It just goes to show the arrogance and the ignorance of the Australian government, especially ignorance about our Constitution and its processes in respect of a vacancy in the Prime Minister's Office.

Actually Australia did more than that. They marched private lawyers in PNG and AUSaid fed academics dressed up as leading PNG Constitutional Law experts such as Tony Regan to give weight and credance to what parliament had done, even while the Supreme Court was still deliberating on the issue of legitimacy of the ONamah government.

To put the icing on the cake, Julia Gillard invited Peter ONeill to come to Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Perth the following month and strut the stage with her. It made news and ofcourse ONeill made the ranks of Commonwealth Prime Ministers.

Under these circumstances, Ms. Pillay's comments about warning PNG is a bit lame. Shouldnt the UN pull up Australia for its very central role in PNG Politics, and its very central role in tearing down our judiciary and our Constitution?

It is Australia who should be pulled up, in as much as ONeill & Namah need to be kicked in the balls and told not to play silly buggers with the Constitution and the Courts. Why has the UN been so silent when PNG's Constitutional democracy is being destroyed by two crazy guys?

The real heroes in this saga is not ONeill, and its definitely not Namah. It is the silent majority of the learned people of PNG who see the stupidity of the Leaders, who tolerate the stupidity of Australia, who hold their fire, and wait for common sense to prevail.

Its not that the people do not know how to take the law into their own hands. Its not that the people are afraid of ONeill or Namah. Its not that the Police Force or the Army would contain the people for which the people care. As a matter of fact the Police and the army would join the people.

You see its only so much the people of PNG can tolerate. They can tolerate so much of stupid politicians. They can tolerte so much of power hungry leaders using the guize of political position to steal from public coffers. They can tolerate so much of lack of mediciane and basic health care, while Mr ONeill lives it up on overseas trips and spends one hospital's entire annual budget in 2 weeks. They can tolerate so much of lack of funds to do the most basic things.

Then to stand and watch the courts, the last place of refuge for people who are daily oppressed, being torn to shreds by the very same politicians, makes the people want to stand up and shout-

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!    HEY YUPELA HARIM HA....INAP!   EM I NAP!

We have responded and marched recently. We tested the government. But the government decided to drag our leaders aside, have a few beers with them and took our petition, and went away to think about it and then will come back and tell us the answer.

ONeill went away rubbing his hands, he can tell another lie and get on with what he wants to do, to postpone the elections, retain the Judicial Conduct Act, steal more money and just carry on.

We are watching you Mr ONeill. Our patience is running out. In the position that you have invited yourself in, you have worn out your welcome. Your time is up.

Peter ONeill, you are no longer welcome to be Prime Minister of PNG.

As to Ms Pillay of the UN, next time conduct a bit more independent research so you can address all guilty parties equally. Our Courts and our Constitution has been smashed by ONeill & Namah with the approval of Julia Gillard and Australia. These people need to be taken to task. As a result of the initial illegitimacy, we have seen illegitimate action after illegitimate action piled on this nation by people wielding illegitimate power.

WE SAY, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
