UNITECH SAGA – MAKING THE CONNECTIONS

By: Unitech Insider

After following the current Unitech Saga and having followed Unitech Sagas of old; having heard stories from those inside as well as outside of Unitech; reading blogs on the internet and doing a little bit of investigation this far, I will now try to make my connection on the issue of ‘connections’ as it relates to the Unitech Saga.

Connections are good if not abused however evil and corrupt people use the system of connection to get the outcome they desire and with respect to the Unitech Saga are many of these connections. Tribal, family, marriage, cultural, professional, political, business, religious, church, mateship, school-mates, drinking-mates, con-mates, ‘who-you-know’ and the list goes on are all there in the mix.

When Delilah Gore took office as the new HERST Minister, she said that she would solve the Unitech Saga ‘independently’. Hello girl, welcome to the world of corrupt and evil connections.

So let us start:

1.        Phil Stagg is the smart (so he thinks) crooked Chancellor from the old disbanded Council who is still hell bent in getting back into power so that he can continue to benefit from Unitech. Sori ‘clever’ blo yu bai pinis nau. Stories tell of Stagg having squeezed more than enough for his own gain and must be stopped, hung and completely and utterly destroyed from having anything to do with Unitech, period! He is from Goroka and PM O’Neil went to school in Goroka and perhaps there may be the ‘Goroka’ connection right there. Maybe the Sevua report has opened up the can of worms in relation to Stagg’s dealings at Unitech and if there is an even stronger connection between O’Neil and Stagg rather than just the Goroka connection, then maybe the Sevua report will never be made public.

Phil Stagg is a ‘wanna-be’ politician and has been trying to get into parliament. I do not know how many times he has tried but Unitech wish him ‘hell’ in the next elections. In the last election he stood as an independent candidate but stories I hear tell me that he may have strong connections to the National Alliance party. Those in the political know may be able to shed some light on his political affiliation. So obviously this schemer uses his political connections to do his evil will at Unitech. Fingers crossed; hopefully there is no connection between Stagg and Attorney General Kerenga Kua who is trying to assist students now to lift the ban on Schram and have him return to Unitech.

2.        Now I hear stories that acting VC Professor Pumwa may be a relative of Jimmy Maladina on the ‘Highlands’ side and that Jimmy used to attend the church where Pumwa preached on his PRIDE and connection to the PM. Jimmy Maladina was PM Peter O’Neil’s scapegoat and side-kick in the unsolved (or solved?) NPF saga of old and he is still lingering somewhere probably giving advice or planning more of their schemes. Thus Jimmy may have been the connection that cemented the relationship between Pumwa and O’Neil. Unfortunately prideful Pumwa saw the window of opportunity to become VC and forgot about all the right reasons why he is currently the acting VC. Boy, pundaun blo yu bai nogut tru ya so please come back to your senses, Mr. Pumwa!

3.        Still on Jimmy Maladina, some tell me also that he may also be a distant relative of former VC Misty Baloiloi on the ‘Island’ (Milne Bay) side so if the Sevua report has shed some bad light on Mr. Baloiloi then maybe kas Jimmy has intervened and asked O’Neil not to release the report.

But Misty is a big boy with all the array of connections including politics. He was also a ‘wanna be’ in the last election and I am sure flexing his connections in relation to the Sevua investigation.

4.        Insiders from OHE tell me also that OHE Director – Professor Kavanamur is probably the one covering-up and not giving the correct instructions with respect to the release of the Sevua Report. Professor ‘Cover-up’ Kavanumur, I hear is a good old buddy of former VC Baloiloi so obviously if he is the custodian of the Sevua report, he would probably want to use his power and connection to cover-up and make sure that the report is never released if his bro Misty has been unfavourably portrayed.

5.        Then there is the story of a ‘conman’ by the name of Narayan Gehlot. An Indian with a US passport but with very little academic experience and credentials in any University in the world; a person not fit to be a professor yet was made a professor of Electrical Engineering at Unitech by the former Baloiloi management and Stagg regime though his masterful con and deception. I mean from a Lecturer to Professor in only 3 years of academic teaching stint at Unitech, PUH-LEEAASE, only in PNG! He is said to hold several patents which you can find on the internet but very difficult to find any other substantial information on him to confirm his credentials. But there is the EMTV video link of his alleged criminal activity at Unitech. He maybe a fraudster and definitely the one whose qualification needs to be checked out and not VC Schram. At least you can find substantive and quality information on the internet about exiled VC Schram.  So who is this Gehlot? Gehlot was the one who was used by the Stagg regime to play some of their dirty games at Unitech against exiled VC Schram until he was sacked by Unitech for stealing K675 000.

I hear also that Gehlot is now employed by PNG Power. How? Some tell me it is again through the Staggy-connection because at PNG Power, a former council member and cohort of Stagg is a member of the executive management (cannot remember the name) and perhaps that was the connection used to get Gehlot into PNG Power after he was sacked from Unitech. On a side note, I hope these evil connections are not the ones getting current sidelined PNG Power CEO - John Tangit tasting the ‘sweets’ and getting into trouble big-time. And let us hope that electrical engineer and businessman, yours truly Stagg does not get into the PNG Power Board if the board gets the sack for sidelining CEO Tangit. I keep my fingers crossed also that Stagg has no connection to Public Enterprise Minister Ben Micah.

Back to this conman Gehlot, he is also the drinking mate and ‘after-hours’ comrade of the former HERST minister, multi-talented dude David Arore. Ask the folks at Unitech and they will tell you stories about this eccentric ego-maniac baboon; his movements and connection with Stagg and Arore; the Electrical Engineering Master’s program of the ‘highest’ quality (only for the students who graduated in less than 6 months of doing the course, whew! only in PNG!) that he designed and run and then made a claim for reimbursement a sum of K675 000 from Unitech for this crappy program and the list goes on. Ating sampla blo displa K675 000 mas go lo Stagg na Arore, but off course that is just the scraps from the frying pan. Traipla mit stew lo pot ya ol wok lo kaikai stap na nau stop ya, hopefully forever and ever.

6.        Then there are the other national professors at Unitech who are cohorts of the former council and former management who  were dancing to Stagg’s tunes and doing all they could to supress the work of exiled VC Schram and his management at Unitech. Unitech folks tell me that these professors from the Architechure and Building, Civil Engineering and Applied Science departments who have been sidelined from holding HOD positions are in mourning now but are eagerly waiting the return of their ‘King Kon’ Stagg so they can take over from Pumwa and the current management. Gosh they will be even worse than Pumwa! If Pumwa’s actions and in-actions are already at the extreme of stinky smell, what stench we can get from Stagg’s professors, only heaven knows. Let us hope they will wait forever till death do them part from Stagg.

As a side note I think these professors including Pumwa need to do more research and lift up the standard of research at Unitech and impart research skills to Papua New Guineans. They need to provide academic and research leadership and not worry about position, power and the perks and privileges of the VC post. Can somebody from Unitech tell us how many PhD students these professors have supervised or how many serious research and publications contributing to the body of knowledge in PNG and the world that these professors have made? I am not underestimating the capability of fellow Papua New Guineans but those professors, majority has it that ol ino stap klostu lo mak. At least I hear or read about Papua New Guinean professors from the University of Papua New Guinea doing quality research and making contributions to this nation. Then they will say ‘NOGAT MONI’. Why? Because the former University Management and Council led by crooky Stagg have not provided the leadership, management and vision but have concentrated on their own schemes for self-benefit for the donkeys’ years they have been in power at this very important institution of learning in the country. At least exiled VC Schram was able to manage, direct and guide Papua New Guineans when he came and for a short period of time real changes were beginning to take place at Unitech. Ask what has Stagg achieved as Chancellor? Nothing! Nogat! Lasi! ABSOLUTELY ZERO!

7.        I hear also that the Stagg regime has connections to the judiciary and so they continue to play their legal and judicial game and counting on their connections with big time former council member and Stagg’s right-hand or perhaps left-hand man, lawyer Ralph Saulep who in relation to Unitech Sagas of old was another conman of humongous proportion.  Sapos ol win lo kot na kam bek lo Unitech, sawe pinis, KONEKSEN BLO OL KONMAN STAP YA!

8.        More on Ralph Saulep, he is a lawyer and also another of the ‘wanna-be’ politician (Unitech wish him ‘hell’ in the next elections) so off-course he uses his legal, political and other connections to get what he and Stagg wants in relation to the Unitech Saga. He could be a buddy lawyer of Jimmy ‘NPF Saga Man’ Maladina or the PM himself, who knows! Anybody with knowledge of his connections can post on this forum.

9.        Oh yeh and before I forget, there is still another cohort of Stagg from the old council, a Mr Rex Paki. I do not know if he was still a member of the disbanded council, but this man is another multi-talented schemer with connections right across the spectrum and would obviously be using his evil and corrupt connections to influence the outcome of the Unitech Saga.

10.    And Minister Gore, umh, there is the connection to her wantok and party collegue relegated by O’Neil to the rubbish bin (expired use-by-date), the man himself and former HERST minister David Arore who could not solve the problem during his time because of his connection to the Stagg regime and his desire to get his cuts by not solving the Unitech Saga. And then the Minister is saying that she will also be talking to Stagg and the old council. My goodness, why are you even talking to these bunch of corrupt, power-hungry people, biutiful mama blo Sohe, Delilah, please!

11.    And then there is the interim council and the investigating team. Let us hope there are no corrupt and evil connections.

But anyway, Unitech students keep up the good fight. Be BOLD and take COURAGE. It is not just about Schram but about injustices and corruption suffered by Unitech at the hands of Stagg and his cohorts; the decline in quality education at Unitech and the list goes on. It is about the future of Unitech and PNG. IT IS NOW OR NEVER!

Do not back down to Minister Gore who is only speaking the mind of ‘Cover-up’ Kavanamur with instructions from the deceitful O’Neil through all their evil connections. Destroy all the evil connections now and Unitech will come shining over the horizon in due time.

When you win in the end, erect a monument at the second gate where Stagg was chased, and his vehicle burnt to ashes and write in very small letters, (bikpela tu orait) ‘Here lies the smell of Stagg and his cohorts who did nothing for Unitech but brought misery and pain – REST IN PISS’.  Someone can fill us in on the dates when Stagg was at the helm of the University and that can go after the piss.
