New Challenges for PNGBlogs

Thank you all

I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you out there for giving your time every day to this website, the idea started as a protest against the level of corruption and the lack of information and interaction between Papua New Guineans on the issues and developments taking place in our beautiful country, we’ve come a long way and we are now entering into our 5th year, it has been a wild ride, we have been critical on all forms of corruption, mismanagement, fraudulent hand-outs and crony capitalism, we are ordinary Papua New Guineans who have the heart for PNG, we would like to do more, we have institutionalised this website to be the voice of the voiceless, we are in parallel battle in the information war with the mainstream media in PNG, they now have made  name for themselves, Rome had the Pretorian Guard, their job was to guard the emperor at that time, well ours is the PNG Pretorian guard media, willing to go way low to protect the emperor of the day by not doing investigations and asking the really tough questions.

The Next Step

With the change in times we feel we need to go the next level, we are now in the process of moving our website to a whole new platform, in the coming days we won’t be updating the website with new articles while the transition takes place, our aim is to move all the contents of this site as well as our Comment Manager (Disqus) to the new platform. You can keep a lookout of our progress on our Facebook page.  We are happy to invite regular contributors to contact us directly so moderated access can be given on the new site. We are also on the lookout for new reporters and writers, this is all volunteer based and if you are keen to provide some help we’d be grateful, we are also on the lookout for the citizen journo, someone armed with a camera,  we are happy to have one or two as well. We will follow proper procedures and give credit where its due and can also protect your identity should you chose to remain anonymous,  we have millions of hit on this site and would like to increase our reach and the only way forward is to move to this new platform.

Hopefully you can stick with us for the next 5 years and make PNGBlogs the best news/media/blog site in PNG.
