Parakagate will be swept under the carpet

By KOI KOI DIKADAKA

Ok I got home last night and headed straigh to the"patapata" under the Okari Tree and stretched out on the wooden planks, closed my eyes for a bit and enjoyed the cool evening wind brushing gently against my face. It was a welcoming rest after slaving 11 hours for a Chinese merchant for meager earinings.

I was glad to be home around familiar surroundings and the two women in my life. Hearing their voices in the background was absolutely heavenly. That patapata and those wooden planks felt like soft cushioned silky linens on a Kingsize waterbed in a five star luxury hotel master suit. I felt like a king.

It is around 7.30pm and I could hear the dogs barking, but ignored them completely thinking that the bitches were only on a heat and were barking at potential suitors. Instead I heard the rattle on the gate, and heard familiar voice of Milo Bytow, ringing out calling my name. I had completely forgetten that we had made plans previously to meet and talk about the "Parakagate".

As soon as Milo Bytow made himself comfortable on a fragile plastic chair that had seen and felt many buttocks during its time, he started telling me that the Parakagate will be swept under the carpet and that Peter O'niell will serve the full term of Parliament as the Prime Minister.
As tired as I was, I became interested immediately, and forgot that I was almost dying from sheer exhaustion and tiredness about an hour earlier. I sat upright and was all ears.

Milo Bytow is adamant that PO the PM is in total control of the situation despite my feeble protest that the issue is so pressing and urgent with Belden Namah pushing it through the Courts of which the hearing or decision will handed down on the 18th May 2014. Still Milo Bytow is adamant that PO the PM is untouchable.
According to Milo Bytow Peter O'niell is the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea. There are protocols that every one must obeserve, and that includes the Policemen and woman including the rogue ones who are eagerly waiting to arrest the PM, if the Court case is in their favour.
One must observe this protocls when dealing with Chief Executive of the country. I protested, "what bloody protocols".

Milo Bytow calmly sat back into the plastic chair, cleared his throat and took his lawyer tone of voice out and said, "Peter O'niell must be questioned before he can be arrested. As the Chief Executive of the country, he must be "invited" to the Police Station and to be questioned".
Milo Bytow, took a deep breath, looked me in the eye and said  "that is protocol". He says Tom Kulunga the Police Commisioner will not have the nerve to "invite" the PM for questioning. Instead the Police Commisoner will issue a statement and say that as a serving Police Commissioner he finds that there is no justifable reason to invite the PM for questioing with the expectation that the PM will be arrested and charged.

The hand writing expert has cleared the PM, thus confirming that he did not sign that famous letter. The handwring experts have confirmed that PM's signature had been forged.
I sat in complete silence than asked again, what he thinks of James Marape and Don Polye. Milo Bytow thinks that James Marape and Don Polye will not be arrested and charged as well. This whole issue will remain as it is "in no mans land". He thinks that the Parakagate issue will swept under the carpet and be left to die, and be  cremated. The issue will never come up again.
Again I protested that the evidence are crystal clear and if the PM did not go to jail, maybe at least James Marape and Don olye will join Paul Tienstin at the "loose weight" factory at the Bomana. Still Milo Bytow does not think its possible. he says many powerful people with money are involved in this issue, and when money talks and says jump, everybody says high how. Parakagate is a dead issue.

Well "that sucks" I said. Milo Bytow smiled and said the only way the Parakagate will get ahead is, if the Government changes mid term and either Belden Namah, Sam Basil or William Duma become the PM. The Parakagate issue can come up again after the 2017 General Election if and when new players enter the field of politics and poeple like Gary Juffa become the PM. They can resurrect the Parakgate issue again and have the principle offenders arrested and charged.
Milo Bytow said dont listen to political analyst develop by political pundits that give their story based entirely on hearsay. He said most of these pundits operate from Lamana Gold Club. Some of them are at Fortune Club.

What about  William Duma. Milo Bytow thinks the longer Duma and Polye stay out of the Government ranks, the reception around them will grow cold, and they will loose pwer. They do not have the same capacity to attract ready made friends whose support they once enjoyed when they were high profile Ministers. He says they will not be active this session of Parliament, but he says they will win back their seat at the next Election which is 2017. If they are back in power by 2017, they will help bring back theParakagate.

He says PNC unlike NA will die at the next General Elections. Peter O'niell and James Marape will probably win their seats. They will find themselves in Opposition in 2017, and thats when the Parakagate will hit them in the face. Don Polye will getaway scot free because he has become a State Witness. As such he will recieve mercy from Prosecution and be free, whilst PO and James Marape will be staring down the direction of lenghty jail terms under the new set of penalties for people found guilty of stealing K1 million and over.

Milo Bytow says that politics in PNG is extremely unque, and with the notion that it sometimes attracts strange bedfellows, it will force the Parakagate to become another NPF case, and any further prosection for it or from it might require new set of evidence.
Ok folks, I have said what I have said, and Milo Bytow is walking out the gate, waving cheerfully at the girls next door, and says he is going to watch Wamsi Ilau and Lister laka singing Motuan love songs at thefavourite waterhole, and I leave you to develop your on theory.
