LONG QUEUES AND CROWDS AT NASFUND LAE (AND POM)

Crowds build up outside the NASFUND Lae Office as early as 6am every morning. By 8am there are 200 people outside and by 9am when the Office opens, there are 400 people trying to rush into the office to be served. Lot of tussles and arguments go on in this daily occurrence.

Two people interviewed on video (today, 20.01.15) said they were following up for 2 years and 3 years respectively. One came to try his luck in the queue last week arriving at the NASFUND Office before 6am. It took him to be in line till 3pm, he wasn’t served and the office closed. He came back today and said to try his luck again.

The second person said the queue and crowd of people defeated him psychologically so he gave up and will not join the queue. He goes around to the NASFUND Lae Office a couple of times hoping he’ll be in front of the queue because there’s no point being in the middle as you will still be in queue when the office gets closed at 3pms.


NASFUND MEMBER LOSES ALL OF HIS LIFE SAVINGS TO A SCAM

All my Nasfund savings worth over 37 thousand kina was stolen, thanks to persons inside Newcrest Lihir, Nasfund and BSP. 9 months after I left Lihir island, my savings were paid into my wife"s Wewak BSP account and withdrawn the next day in BSP Boroko. The reason why the payment was made was I was dead. I will not rest until those involved are brought to justice. All my friends if you haven't been checking your nasfund savings please check asap

IS NASFUND PROGRESSING OR REGRESSING??

What is happening to NASFUND?? This fund was once the Pride and Joy of Papua New Guineans but it seems that things have been going downhill since the departure of Rod Mitchell and the promotion of Ian Tarutia to the top. This is just an assertion from observation but if the long queues at NASFUND Boroko and NASFUND Lae are any indication, then it may well be true.
There have been allegations of improper behaviour by staff and management of NASFUND in recent times and also, recently, a member posted on Facebook that he lost ALL his life savings from NASFUND due to a SCAM involving individuals within NASFUND and BSP.

Should Papua New Guineans be concerned about their savings at NASFUND?? Are we as contributors and the ones who pay the salaries and perks and privileges of NASFUND staff, Management and Board be concerned about the lack of service we are receiving at NASFUND??
I remember when I used to be able to contact Rod Mitchell CEO of NASFUND directly via telephone or email. I am not sure if the current CEO is accessible to ordinary contributing members anymore??

WHY DO THINGS HAVE TO DETERIORATE AND GO DOWNHILL WHEN PAPUA NEW GUINEANS ARE ENTRUSTED WITH RESPONSIBILITY AND PLACED AT THE HELM???
This is being said with due respect to CEO Ian Tarutia and his senior management. If they are providing great service then I am sure the evidence will speak for itself but as it is, I am sorry but the evidence speak otherwise.
