10 tricks that PNG politicians often use to manipulate and deceive Christians.

Image
By MISHA MUL I started writing this article awhile back but finished it after reading about how politicians are making so much noise about the american Bible.  I believe most of these politicians are not genuine but trying to make the right kind of noise during this event to get Christians to support them in 2017.   Today in PNG there are many con artist politicians who pretend to be trupla pasin Christians.  They manipulate and trick the real Christians into voting them.  As Christians we are vulnerable to this trickery because we are usually taught from early age to be God fearing, passive, obedient and to respect others.   If we respond as expected and become peaceful, trusting personalities, it can be easy for others to trick and manipulate us.   Con artist politicians know that if they get Christians on their side, they'll get many more votes and more easily reach fame and fortune.    As Christians, most of us would want to vote candidates who best share our Chri

Street Preaching: A Phenomenon of Attraction

By Casper Damien What are the effects and benefits of Street Preaching in PNG? It is a question that both Christians and non-Christians have to answer. Go to public places; markets, cities, towns and even busy populated areas in PNG, one would hear the so-called street preachers pumping their energy out with their preaching hoping that busy population would listen to them. For a moment, try to stop and listen to these so-called street preachers. What do you hear? Does these issues like HIV/AIDS, One World Government, Homosexuality, Technology, Disaster, Wars, Second coming of Jesus, makes sense to you? Is HIV/AIDS as a punishment from God? Are these issues like the wars, violence, and natural disasters direct punishment from God because humans have sinned?. Advancement of technology, One World Government and Homosexuality is a sign of the end times or the Second Coming of Jesus is near. This is what you hear from the street preachers. They firmly and convincingly will preach that you

PNG CHURCHES LARGELY IGNORING BIBLE DONATION AS OUR CORRUPT PM USES THE OCCASION TO PARADE HIMSELF AS PNG'S MOST GOD FEARING CHRISTIAN

Image
By Nelson Tendel The controversial King James I Bible, said by the government to be incredibly valuable and rare, yet photographed last week being carried around by PNG's receiving pastors like a common library book, finally had its day in PNG. Prime Minister Peter O'Neill, arguably the most corrupt PM in PNG history, formally received and made sure he was photographed with the holy book. PM used the occasion to convince gullible and unquestioning souls throughout the nation that he is a devout Christian, not a cunning mega thief who ignored Supreme Court orders to become PM and now uses every legal trick in the book to avoid allegations against him from having their day in court. Yes, this very special Bible is being successfully and impressively embraced by our most corrupt leaders while tens of thousands of PNG Christians look the other way. Isn't that the whole problem in PNG today? A very expensive and beautiful full page colour advert ran in The National last

Restoration of people’s Rights and Equity

BY JOHN FOWKE The blithely-approved-and-imposed Westminster party system has been the nursery within which the political, administrative and social dysfunction which defines Papua New Guinea in 2010 has developed.  Far from an enfranchisement leading to the empowerment of the people, the party-system set up by – or perhaps it is better said countenanced by Australia, has led to the marginalisation of the proletariat in this once most-egalitarian of societies.  It has led to the growth of small, unstable, unscrupulous but very tenacious governing elite, divided by greed within itself but united in its concern to keep and expand its hegemonic hold over the affairs of the nation through its exclusivity. The growth of the very conditions which the Westminster system slowly eradicated in Britain is, in complete paradox, the outcome of Australia’s foolish decision to allow it to arise in a setting where there was no requirement for it. How could the Australian powers of the day have b

THE UNTOUCHABLES POLLUTING OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM

Image
By KELLY PERAMO One of the top brains of this country, Sir Mekere Morauta once described the scale of corruption in this country as “Systemic and Systematic”. Many others have labelled it as having permeated throughout the fabrics of the society. Corruption is said to have widespread in Government and is prevalent in how businesses are conducted both in private and public sectors.  We are experiencing unprecedented number of prosecutions of leaders both by police and the Ombudsman Commission. These are leaders mandated by our people but the law is keeping a check on their exercise of powers. Eventually, their fate will be ultimately determined by the judiciary. Thanks to the Deputy Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika, who is an unapologetic member of the bench and sending a strong message with the number of people he is sending to jail. Sir Salika seems to be motivated to send wrong doers to jail and has no time hunting escape routes for criminals.  The judiciary, though the third a

SERIOUS CONCERNS EXPRESSED OVER THE OPERATION OF NATIONAL AIRPORTS CORPORATION

Image
By Aviation Insider The information provided herein relates to matters concerning the National Airports Corporation (NAC) of PNG, in particular its administrative, operational and financial status. NAC is a State Aviation Enterprise established by Section 132 of the Civil Aviation Act 2000 (the Act). Its primary responsibility is to own, operate and administer all 22 national airports in PNG, including Kieta in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB). The organisations source of revenue comes from funds collected mainly through 1.a component of fees collected from airline ticket sales, 2.terminal facilitation charges and 3.airport facility (concessional) leases, which sustain NAC’s operations, including the periodic maintenance of safety and security systems in all 22 national airports. In addition to revenue generated from direct aviation activities, NAC’s major project developments are funded through tied grants from the national government or loans allocated by donor agencies

WHEN WILL WE FINALLY END THE TRICKS AND DECEPTIONS OF MPs LIKE ZURENUOC AND KOUZA?

Image
By MARTIN KAMU The revelation today ( read the full article ) that we the people of PNG have been deceived about what the 400 year old Bible gift to PNG actually is and who gave it to us, continues a sad trend. Too many of our national leaders on both sides of the fence smugly believe that they we'll accept anything they tell us. Fortunately, slowly but steadily, more people are seeing the light and realising that whatever most MPs tell us they're doing, they're doing the opposite behind our backs. They say that they're going to do a project that helps the people, when in reality they're establishing a project that kicks back taxpayers money into their pockets and those of their sin-filled collaborators. It's even starting to become clear that the pollies who put on the biggest displays of compassion and of following Christian values are amongst the most ungodly and corrupt people imaginable on God's green earth. A big majority of PNG's motley gan

The Strange and Mysterious Case of the Donated King James I Bible To Papua New Guinea

By Martin Kamu One area of our life where there shouldn't be silly little secrets is with respect to our national faith. Christian principles are the stated centerpiece of our nation.   Christian principles include honesty, and the open, willing sharing of information. Papua New Guinea MPs Theodore Zurenuoc and Loujaya Kouza have been in the centre of crazy activities in the past and are now on centre stage in the strange case of the donated American Bible. These realities unfortunately seem to be ignored by supposedly Christian leaders like MP Theo Zurenuoc and MP Loujaya Kouza, whose extremist versions of Christianity have already embarrassed PNG before the world.  Recall that it wasn't all that long ago that their axing away at the "evil carvings" in parliament house were laughed at around the world, while here in PNG their actions infuriated the very churches that first brought Christianity to this place.    MP Theo Zurenuoc made PNG into a wo
