Minister For Communication & Information is Blackmailed to Keep His Mouth Shut Over Instability at NBC The once iconic government agency,

The National Broadcasting Corporation is on the verge of collapse, a situation it was once in prior to Mr. Memafu Kaperas reign as the Managing Director. This Important government entity is the most abused and politicized of all the government entities with staff and board having no respect for the protocols in the organization.

Currently, there is instability in the organization with the board and its chairman and the acting managing director attempting to remove the members of the current executive management who have valid and current employment contract. Some members of the executive management are taking the matter to court and while that is happening, the acting MD and the board are planning to restore some former staff who have been terminated from NBC on disciplinary grounds and those who were legally retrenched which is going to add more to instability.

This Minister for Communication & Information is aware of the instability but is not doing anything to protect the organization which comes under his ministry and he is deliberately not briefing the NEC or the Prime Minister on this situation. Word out there is that he was blackmailed by some people with self interest in NBC to shut his mouth over anything to do with NBC.

The ministers deliberate inaction and ignorance of the affairs of NBC is a failure on his mandated responsibility to properly steer and direct the NBC in the right way on the one hand and indirectly condoning bad governance in the management of the NBC on the other hand. Minister Miringtoro must be blamed for all the problems that is happening at NBC for his failure to intervene given the simple reason that he knows the wrongs that are happening but can not do anything to correct it.

The Prime Minister must reprimand the minister for communication for his deliberate inaction in solving the instability at NBC and the minister should be replaced as he was blackmailed and can not serve in the ministry without fear or favour. For the stability, convenience and future of NBC, relevant authorities should urgently intervene to save it from further deterioration.

MARAPE & PAITA ABOUT TO SIGN AWAY PNG GOLD

The court ruled that MRDC's appeal was an "abuse of process" and ordered the company to pay costs of the proceedings. MRDC, a unit holder in PBF, had taken legal action against the National Court's decision to dismiss its case, arguing that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter.
