PETER O'NEILL LIES AGAIN ABOUT NATIONAL HEALTH FUNDING
Public
commentary by desperate health officials last week are aimed at telling the
people of PNG that Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is killing the national health
system.
The
Department of Health is no longer able to help sick people in need of medical
assistance, treatment from doctors and medicines.
Only
the worst cases can get help from the main hospitals but even Angau , Port
Moresby General and other major centres are struggling to do their job.
The
cause, say the health officials, is lack of money.

The
Prime Minister has stolen so much money for himself and his con men and wasted
so much money on borrowing from foreigners that there is nothing left for the
health and welfare of the people.
He
would rather build useless things in Port Moresby than save his own people’s
lives.
THIS IS WHAT HEALTH
OFFICIALS SAY:
· The Prime
Minister cut the Church Health Services funding by $50 million in the Budget.· Health Department is “at the risk now of not being able to meet the expectations of our people because of the financial situation.”
· Government funding “is not equal to what we actually asked for to maintain basic requirements for our people”.
· An
example is supplying anti-malarial drugs to health centres and clinics across
the country. “Right now there is an emergency and Health department is not able
to supply anti-malaria drugs because it has not received its funding.”
· “We
are given only just a small amount which is the situation with the cash
flow. That’s the situation for us.”
These
public commentary shows Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is a liar.
People
are dying because of his greed and waste and reckless borrowing.
HEALTH CRISIS WILL GET
WORSE.
But
the worst is yet to come. Expert economic studies show that in fact O’Neill is
cutting spending from a peak of K1.67billion in 2015 to just K1.2 billion in
his planned 2017 Budget.
The
Prime Minister has cut health spending by about 50%, including inflation and
other economic factors.
NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE
DYING!!!!
For
example the malaria death rate under Peter O’Neill is going to rise because of the
drug shortage. Thousands of malaria sufferers will not get drugs
Almost
2 million PNGeans visit health centres every year with malaria looking for
drugs. Now there are no drugs.
There
are about 39 deaths from malaria for every 100,000 people in each year.
So
we know now that about 275 people are dying from malaria every year.
HOW MANY MORE WILL DIE
BECAUSE OF YOU MR PRIME MINISTER?
Under
O’Neill PNG is the worst for health in the whole Pacific, according to latest
figures from Australian Doctors International.
Sister
nation Fiji spends $US154 per citizen on Health. PNG spends $US49.
Sister
nation Fiji has 20 doctors for every 20,000 citizens. PNG has one doctor for
every 17,068 citizens.
TB
is coming back worse than ever and now is in crisis in Western, Gulf and
Central/NCD.
O’Neill
has stolen so much money and owes so much money to foreign banks he can’t even
pay K20 million pleaded by doctors and health agencies to stop the TB crisis.
