Unitech Students Vote Righteousness Over Ipatas and Tabar Self Serving Intimidation
Overwhelming 87% Vote In Favour Of Boycott.

PAU and Divine Word Students Sit Back And Let Other Students Do All the Fighting for A Better Future for PNG.

By Wilfred Dama

After a worrisome delay, unitech students finally stood up with courage like the way their predecessors did in 2014 to defeat the corrupt Peter O’Neill to bring back a noncorrupt Vice Chancellor.   The final vote was over 87% to proceed with a boycott. Final tally was 2,059 supporting an immediate boycott and 296 voting against.

Thank God Amighty Unitech students have now finished their wishy washy and firmly joined UPNG and UNRE in standing up in a unified way with the government.    The fight of good against evil has gained thousands of new soldiers.

UNIVERSITY OF GOROKA STUDENTS WHERE ARE YOU?    We wonder why the UOG students, who were the heroes last year in deposing their uncaring and corrupt administration, have not stepped up to be counted yet.   The stories are that the students are tired after last year’s fight.  Come on, you’ve had a full year to recover.   PAPUA NEW GUINEA NEEDS YOU!!!!!!   Continue the fine example of incredible bravery that you set for the nation last year.  You were ridiculed at first by the media, your parents, and others, but you didn’t give up the fight.  In the end you won and the government stepping down so much of the higher administration vindicated your sacrifice.

PACIFIC ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY & DIVINE WORD UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, As for the student of Pacific Adventist University and Divine Word University, only one word fits:   PATHETIC.     It is pathetic because the PAU SRC president, if he is a deeply reflecting Christian, knows that to sit back and watch other students fight the battles needed to liberate you from the yoke of government incompetency and financial mismanagement is sinful.   That is what milliions of Christian Germans did when Hitler was killing milliions of Jewish people in the gas chambers.   They knew what was going on, they supported anyone fighting Hitler, but they themselves did nothing.   Is PAU a university to brainwash the students into being good little people who do what they’re told but have no ability to think?   Do your PAU administrators see Martin Luther King, liberator of black people in America and worldwide, to be nothing more than a trouble maker?   Do you have the guts to ask either of these questions to PAU administrators or are you already so brainwashed you do what you’re told, whether the instructions are ethical or not?

Divine Word Uni is the same.  Students who go into Divine Word from high school can’t be any different from students going into the other universities. But something seems to change inside these students brains after arriving in the university.  A very mysterious change, because it seems to express itself with the death off all student thoughts of contributing to the nation during times when it requires deep sacrifice.

Divine Word faculty, staff and administrators must be working overtime to tell students to think of themselves first.  Left, right, and centre, students think of yourselves.  Pay attention to your studies so that you can get a good job, you are told.   Don’t make trouble for others, you are advised.  Because of this, you students have been brainwashed into being greedy rather than sacrificial.  Instead of helping all the people of PNG when your services are required, you stay quiet and let others do the sacrificing and the hard work for you.

Both PAU and Divine Word students will tell the student activists of this country that they support them and will pray for them.   Get off those garbage excuses, PAU and Divine Word Students!    What you are really doing is finding ways to continue your risk free, self centred, non-involvement state of living.

PAU and Divine Word Students, and all the rest.  We have already suffered through at least 25 years of people praying for the corruption to stop but doing nothing activist to put roadblocks in the way of corruption.   During all these years when we the people of PNG relied on prayer alone, the corruption only got worse.   Peter O’Neill must have laughed daily during his years in power that by keeping the church and dutiful Christians on his side that he could get away with anything he wanted and no Christian would stand up to him.   Christians who only pray but don’t go beyond that are helping evil through what 25 years has taught us is ineffective action.

Either you are for evil or you fight evil in ways that work, PAU and DWU students.  Sitting on the sidelines like you have done in the past is no longer acceptable.
