“Focus on Your Studies”: An Instruction To Students From So Called Christians To Be Selfish and Un-Christian.

by SAMSON LAMA
At long last the students of UPNG, Unitech, and hopefully UOG, UNRE and Divine Word Institute are opening their eyes to seeing that our current Prime Minister, Dishonourable Peter ONeill, is a very corrupt human being. He has fooled even himself into thinking that he works for betterment of PNG.  In truth he is a konmangi always looking for a new scam that puts more money in his pockets.
As 1 of countless numbers of examples, Peter ONeill has never explained his extremely strange behavior of being in such a hurry to sign the K3 billion UBS loan which ended up contributing to the crash of our currency.   It was O’Neill who hurriedly agreed to UBS loan terms that all LNG revenue be stored in a Singapore bank instead of being brought into PNG to help save our kina value.  None of his explanations explain his extreme urgency to sign the UBS loan without getting parliamentary and NEC approval ahead of time as he is supposed to do under the law.  All indications are that he has been hiding something personal he got out of the UBS loan.  The most common story is that he got a giant handling fee or middleman fee.  In any case his selfish action have led to a falling down kina which affects us all.  Lower kina means higher prices for rice, tin fish, and almost every common product.  This is thanks to the financial mismanagement and stupidity of only 3 people out of more than 8 million:  Peter O’Neill, James Marape, and Patrick Pruaitch.  They have screwed up PNG good and proper. It will take years to get out of the mess they made.   Economic growth has collapsed as well.  Even when economic growth was high, university graduates didn’t see that economic growth translate into jobs.   Now that economic growth is low, forget it.   Are you going to graduate with an engineering degree?  Hardly any jobs!   An MD?   No money to run hospitals and aid posts, where are you going to work and if you do work, where’s the medicine and the medical tools?
What happens to our country now and later not only affects us but other human beings, especially those less fortunate than ourselves.   What happens now can hurt future generations.   Obviously, none of our political leaders are real Christians.   If they were, the first thing they wouldn’t be doing is seeking ways to personally benefit from their public servant type positions.   But what about us, the citizens?   Are we also pretend Christians?  After all, if we were true Christians like so many of us proudly proclaim, how could we sit back and let the wild dog O’Neill get away with hurting so many millions of our people through his poor financial management?

“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”  Philippians 2:3-4
It is our duty as Christians to stop thinking only in selfish ways but to stand up and help bring down the man who perpetuates evil in our country.   What would Jesus Christ do if he saw as much corruption as we have in PNG today?  Would he close his eyes as his Christian children do all the time in PNG?   Would He stay silent while witnessing corruption in front of him?  Of course he wouldn’t.
UPNG and Unitech administrators are finally beginning to understand that students are finally waking up to the Prime Minister’s frantic efforts to keep from being investigated and properly charged with the help of Gari Baki.   The students are now getting really pissed off and Thank God For That.  They want to take action now and force the Prime Minister to step aside or step down.
University administrators all probably read the Bible now and then and say they are Christian.  Living a Christian life means not only behaving yourself but doing what you can to prevent evil from affecting your family, people, and country.   If these university administrators are true Christians, why have they started advising students to close their eyes to the corruption disaster that Peter ONeill has brought to PNG?   Why are they telling the students to focus on studies instead of rising up, doing what is good and proper for a Christian to do and driving out this devil we call our Prime Minister away from the power he is using to destroy us?

"As I live, declares the Lord GOD, surely because My flock has become a prey, My flock has even become food for all the beasts of the field for lack of a shepherd, and My shepherds did not search for My flock, but rather the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock”   Ezekiel 34:8

The future of our country depends less on how much our students study and work towards their personal career goals during times of national crisis and much more on taking heed and doing what will benefit the nation.  The university administrators are not behaving like true Christians when they strongly advise students to selfishly think of themselves before they think of the wellbeing of our fellow man.  They want students to only think about passing tests, graduating, getting a job and making good money as the first priority during our national time of crisis.   Is that what Jesus would be advising the students?  Would Jesus Christ advise our students to close their eyes to the evil that is covering up our land under the shadow of Peter ONeill?
Instead of telling students to worry only about money, jobs and other selfish desires, these so called Christian university admin should be putting every effort to help the students get organized so they can win their fight against the devil ONeill.
Jesus Christ gave his life on the cross for us.  He spent his life organizing people to fight against the devil  and work peacefully for justice.   Upng and unitech administrators, stop telling students to focus on their studies.  That is a selfish message designed for selfish people who think only of themselves.   Instead, consider being real Christians by following the lead of Jesus Christ.  Start helping the students organize to stand up against PNG’s biggest devil whose destruction of our country is accelerating.
Everyone help support the university students to march against the Prime Minister!
