The tale of two knights

Image
by TAENG KA The is the tale of PNG’s two newest Knights, or Sir’s as the Brits would have you say. It makes for a frighteningly intriguing tale of two MPs that hail from the same Province, Enga. One is the current governor for Enga, Sir Peter Ipatas, and the other is the current MP for Kompiam Ambum, in Enga Province. Both are long serving Members of Parliament. Both were knighted, same time, in 2022. Fascinating! This is probably where their similarity ends. So how did both become Knights? One is a true son of Enga, widely recognised in the country as the best Governor the country has ever seen. A truly remarkable and visionary leader who had the foresight to develop Enga’s intellectual capacity. He figured education held the key to the success of its people. His ideas are now being copied by other provinces, albeit a little too late. This is truly a tale of two contrasting people; one a leader that arguable deserves the knighthood more than any other person in PNG’s history, if servi

FAKE KNIGHT APPOINTED A FAKE DEGREE HOLDER

Image
MARK PARAKISAN One of Sir Pundari’s long-time supporter, one Jude Tukulya from Ambum Kompiam, Anditale Village in Enga Province was appointed Corporate Services Director with Centre for Environment Protection  Authority (CEPA) without a degree in accounting where he claims to have one when Sir John Pundari was the minister for environment and conservation. The current evidence that surfaced confirms this fact.  He was enrolled in UPNG’s master’s in business administration program with a fake degree qualification (see attached) however he also failed to complete it. He now claims to be a law student. This is a bad precedent set by the University of PNG in enrolling someone without a bachelor’s degree. From the evidence attached, he only completed a Diploma in Accounting. These kinds of people should be referred to the police fraud squad for criminal investigations because this is a criminal offence. Such practice questions the integrity, the checks and balances of the Premier University

KOMPIAM'S FRAUD KING MP

Image
by PNGI A Member of Parliament is elected to serve his constituents, and is paid handsomely to do it; a minimum of K330,000 a year in take home pay, according to Madang MP Bryan Kramer. For this princely sum, surely an electorate should expect their member will spend every working hour striving to support their struggles and advance their interests? After all, K330,000 a year is 45 times the national minimum wage and more money than most people could even dream of earning. If an MP is given the added honour of serving as a Minister of State his take home pay is increased, to reflect the added duties and responsibilities, to a cool K546,000 per year. After all, said Minister now has not only the weight of responsibility of serving his own constituents, he now has responsibility for a whole government department, hundreds of staff and numerous local, national and international obligations. No time here, clearly, for personal business interests, nor should there be. After all, that i

PNG'S CHIEF JUSTICE COULD BE CORRUPT, HERE'S WHY

Image
by LEKEM LAKI The Deputy Chief Justice his Honour Gibs Salika rightly said in the national paper dated 14th March 2016 titled “Graft a disease” and he referred to the level of corruption rampant in the country cutting across every sector of PNG society. In that he meant to say, corruption isn’t “growing but is overgrown”. The concern raised is alarming in nature but it doesn’t become a cause of concern or raises goose bumps. The corruption is entrenched and deeply embedded in every stratum of government bureaucracy and agencies. The practice is normalised and given the longevity in continued practice, it has become a norm or second nature if you like to people who practice. With the proliferation of corruption, people aren’t remorseful or let alone raise goose bumps. The Department of Justice and Attorney General Secretary Dr. Lawrence Kalinoe refused Damarua’s request to engage private law firm. Damarua and the entire Fraud Squad team aren’t fighting tooth and nail the monster (ov

Who is George Kakas in Pundari and Ipatas' 20 years of political reign?

Image
by YAKEN LEPAKALI Untangling a piece of the puzzle; Peter Ipatas, Pundari, George Kakas and the realm of regional, national and local politics.  We will examine the current Provincial Police Commander, Sup George Kakas in a huge maze puzzle. In 1997, George Kakas used policed issue gun and shot his cousin brother Joe Krammer Kandamain at point-blank. The latter a contestant in Kompiam Ambum.  Kandamain was then a deputy commissioner at IRC. Thank Miss lucky luck the next day he was airlifted direct to Australia. That traumatic night, Kakas was providing security escort for Pundari’s hijacked ballot boxes to wabag town. Kandamain and late Nere were providing logistics for the failed onslaught ambush that night. Kandamain was supporting his cousin brother Augustine Kunuman Kyakas, brother of former Enga Election manager Henry Kyakas. FYI, Kyakas, Kandamain, Pundari and Kakas are blood cousin brothers. Anyways, PPC George Kakas was suspended for many years due to this incident. Usin

White Snake John Pundari’s Manipulations of 2017 Electoral Process Revealed

Image
by Peter Balos This is my third piece concerning corruption in Kompiam-Ambum Electorate. Unlike the two previous pieces, this piece principally reveals illegal and irregular deals done to manipulate the electoral process with the aim of winning this 2017 General Election by such fraud instead of true votes. 2. Creation of duplicate unpopular wards. (a) Lakapos 2 ward. Usually, Lakapos Ward is Ward 2 in the Ambum Rural. Lakapos has over 1200 eligible votes from Mulyao and Aiyele clans (Mulyao kungu) and its polling place is Rakapos. To our surprise without proper consultation, a ward purportedly called Lakapos 2 was secretly created. Interestingly, it is not appearing on the common roll. Nevertheless, on the gazetted polling places, it appears. Its polling place is Hap. Hap is an isolated (not connected by road) bush village. It is not the ideal polling place. The ideal polling place is Lakapos where Aiyele, Kagatae and Takeo sub-clans used to cast votes. Mr. Pundari use

PUNDARI’S BROAD DAY-LIGHT ROBBERIES OF KOMPIAM AMBUM FUNDS REVEALED.

Image
by PETER BALOS 1. Introduction. My first piece was focused on public funds being covetously diverted to one big bowl. This second piece covers a wide range of alleged fraud now under investigation by relevant public authorities. 2. K8m paid to Tage Pimana Yakin Investment Ltd during the eve of this election. Reliable sources from the Departments of Treasury, Finance and Works had revealed that about K8m was recently paid to Tage Pimana Yakain Investments Ltd 1-63724 (TPYIL). This K8m is one-quarter of the K32m that the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill had allocated for upgrading and sealing of Ambum road from Takawas to Monkam in the Ambum LLG, Kompiam-Ambum Electorate, Enga. The Prime Minister publicly announced this in September 2016 during a public gathering at Monkam. Despite directives issued by the Ombudsman Commission (OC) to the abovementioned Departments not to release public funds meant for public services and infrastructures, this money was paid out under the guise of mo

WHITE SNAKE PUNDARI SLEDGING PUBLIC FUNDS INTO KAIPAL KINGDOM INVESTMENT LIMITED

Image
by YAKAN LEPAKALI Let us travel the lanes of another Pundari corruption web. TAGE PIMANA YAKAIN INVESTMENTS LTD (1-63724) was registered and incorporated on the 30th  May 2008. That is 8 months after John Pundari was elected the MP for Kompiam Ambum under questionable circumstances. The company used by John Pundari to legally funnel public money to build his kingdom. A brief background on the relationship between John Yongamen and John Pundari is that, during the 2007 national election campaign, the front man of the company Yongamen gave K20 000.00 in cash to John Pundari as a show of support and loyalty. This was done in public. As expected, Pundari had to pay back if he wins. Well, he won so the company was formed for possible business opportunities. The directors of Tage Pimana Yakain Investment are one Besakali DEGEN and John YONGAMAN. They are from the Lair tribe in the yakan tambukin tribe. Unfortunately, the shareholders are names from their tribe, although only 5 are real na

WHERE IS KOMPIAM AMBUM'S TEN MILLION KINA LAW & JUSTICE SECTOR GRANTS

Image
by LEO AMBEN As I write this, Kompiam Government station is under fire. For twenty Years, Ambum people have died trying to and while fleeing from tribal war lords. Those who escaped successfully are living miserable lives. The last break I visited, my heart melted at the sight of families living in exile, in forever fear and agony, feeling depressed and isolated. School aged children’s lives and education are continuously being deprived while living an asylum’s life.  All these are happening right under watchful eyes of John Pundari, not to mention his strongholds from whom he seek advice.  I cannot be complacent this time any more. Not when I have literally buried chopped up bits and pieces of my fathers’ and brothers’ remains. The District Services Improvement Program (DSIP) Fund per province is Ten Million Kina (K10 Million). This K10 Million is broken down into seven main service sector grants. Shown below the allocation per service sector per year together with an estimat
