DAL ‘ADMIN’ SUCKS K7.6 MILLION OF PRICE SUPPORT FUNDS

Image
by CYRIL GARE  Port Moresby,  Only 250,000 public servants (plus or minus) out of 8 million Papua New Guineans eat up 30 percent of our national-common wealth or K5.2 billion of the national budget every year through their pay packets. That’s a huge burden on the shoulder of a struggling developing nation where all socioeconomic indicators on the United Nation’s Human Development Index (HDI) scale speak low of PNG, even lower among the regional neighbors - Pacific Island Nations (PIN). This excludes the costs of public servants’ traveling allowances, office rentals, utilities, vehicle hire, and such other costs that leech on public funding. As if that’s not enough, departments and state agencies have developed a systemic tendency to ask for more and loot from the people’s share each time the pie is available. A case in point: - The Department of Agriculture and Livestock (DAL) is handling of 2022 K15 million price support/freight subsidy program funds. Originally, K20 million was allo

PETER O'NEILL IS NOT RIGHT FOR PNG

Image
by BEN YALO Our people in Papua New Guinea have to understand the character of Peter O'Neill to fully comprehend what damage and day-light robbery he had inflicted on ordinary Papua New Guineans, while he was running this Country. This article brings to light the dark side and unknown secrets of Peter O'Neill, the Member for Ialibu Pangia Electorate and the then Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea. These uncompromising and compelling truths revealed here might surprise you, but you will not regret that you have discovered the deep secrets of his background and character unknown to the majority of Papua New Guineans and the whole world. During the political impasse since August 2 2011, I have supported the O'Neill/Namah regime against the Somare/Abel regime. The reason of my support was to change Somare’s unpopular regime that was deeply systematic and systemically corrupt. In the process, I admit that our constitution was tempered and violated. Even though our Supreme Cour

Reflections from Mango Diwai

by JACKSON KIAKARI* I spent 17 years of my life pursuing a degree through education. Because the promise was that if I worked for it, earned a degree, came out of the system as an educated citizen, all my dreams would come true. A nice job. Good salary. Better living standards. I would be part of the “Elite” group as we fondly and frequently refer to… most times abusing that innocent well meaning English word. That was the theoretical “ideal world!” The dream described New York. What we actually got was Waikele Market! A dog’s breakfast. Far from reality. What we inherited was a SHOCK! Not enough jobs. The few available were mostly within the minimum wage bracket. Which required us to park our Elite Degrees on the sidelines and scrape floors for K3.50 per hour. Why did you lie to me? You could have told me that I could get a good job if my uncle was the MD? Or I could get a big contract if my brother was the Minister. Why did I spend sleepless night trying to pass engineering mathemati

MY PERSONAL APPEAL TO THE PRIME MINISTER

Image
by VINCENT MOSES Let me start by saying that I believe in you and your leadership PM Hon. James Marape . You are a good man and this was demonstrated when Peter O'Neill and others illegally removed Grand Chief from power, yet you stood with him. You have again demonstrated your humanity and leadership at the passing of this country's founding father by giving him the respect due to him and deserved by him.   Many of us worked hard behind the scenes to remove O'Neill and make way for you to be Prime Minister. I did my bit with Sam Basil in 2016 and 2017 and later with Bryan Kramer from 2017 to 2019. I was happy when you became PM in 2019 and later assumed leadership of PANGU PATI Inc.   I know you are one man and you need many good, honest and genuine politicians to surround you to make good decisions and lead our country into prosperity and make it the first rich Christian black nation on the face of the earth.   However, I personally question your leadership ever since C

HOW 25% OF PORGERA WAS MERGED WITH A K2 COMPANY

Image
By Sam Kaupa WE HAD 25% OF PORGERA IN THE 90s. WE MERGED IT WITH A K2 COMPANY WHICH CREATED PNG FOCUSED AUSTRALIAN OIL AND GAS COMPANY,  OIL SEARCH LTD– AND NOW WE WANT PORGERA BACK AT COST – A TALE SHROUDED IN HIGH LEVEL CORRUPTION AND CONTROVERSY MASTERMINDED BY GREEDY POLITICIANS AND THEIR COHORTS. When our forefathers gained independence in 1975 they established the Mineral Resources Development Company Limited (MRDC) which was 100% owned by the Government of Papua New Guinea. MRDC was incorporated on 27th May 1975 under the Companies Ordinance 1966.  It was not until 1981 that it became fully functional as a company entrusted with the duty to manage mining and petroleum resource equity interests on behalf of the State and Landowners.  It was the ultimate State Nominee to acquire the State and Landowner equity interests in mining and petroleum projects and to manage the equity funds for landowner companies from the major resource development areas of PNG. In 1996 during Sir Julius

How Peter O’Neill Mismanaged PNG's Economy.

by HARINI MATABI ALUMALE PNGeans, we seem to FORGET things very easily and blow with the wind of PROPAGANDA to believe falsified make-believe social media posts, controlled mainstream media headlines (controlled by conglomerate Foreign companies & Former regime), and gossips on the streets. Those of you praising your Master on Media and Facebook forums must read this carefully and this are few but I will post in details from time to time . Peter O’Neill|KING wiru Mari | Leadership 1. The K37 billion loan (dinau) incurred by former Prime Minister Peter O'Neill that you and me and our children will have to 'repay' in the years to come. 2. The inflated contracts in billions of Kina by Peter O'Neill that was swept under the carpet in the name of "Infrastructure". The 10% cuts and excessive overpriced costs for all infrastructures are something that PNGeans must know. For example, the back road from 9mile to Gerehu/Baruni costed almost to a billion Kina when it

PM'S LEGAL FIRM INVOLVED IN COVER-UP, FORMER PARTNER JAILED IN SYDNEY FOR RAPE AND MORE....

Image
by JAMES PERAKIN Has Pangu Pati is becoming another Highlands Party? Pila Niningi seems to be calling the shots to support his son Nale McRonald law firm - Jema Lawyers and his controversy partner Jeffrey Kennedy. McRonald Nale the Principal of Jema Lawyers and Sam Koim are close buddies. How can the PM appoint such questionable inexperienced law firm with less expertise and the dad is the Minister in Government. William Duma's ManuManu land deals funds are kept by Jema Lawyers Trust Account. They are involved in the land-grabbing business. How is that possible? Be your own judge! Jeffrey Kennedy, former controversial Vice-Chancellor of UPNG that was removed unconditionally is a mixed-race from Surunki, the same area where Deputy Chief Justice Ambeng Kandakasi is from, he was one of the principal partners of Jema Lawyer but is now locked up in a Sydney prison for assault and raping his Hanuabada girlfriend's daughter, a 15 yr old minor for canal knowledge. He is in prison

James Marape- The 8th Prime Minister. A year in Review

Image
by GABRIEL RAMOI Twelve months ago who among us would have predicted  the rise of a much under rated James Marape as the 8th Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea putting an end to eight years of tumultuous rule by Peter O’Neill and his PNC Party.  In this article we profile the achievement of James Marape over the last 12 months and lay out the challenges both for Marape as Prime Minister and for the country he now leads and contrast that with the Style and achievements of Peter O’Neill, the man he replaced as Prime Minister. James Marape continues to intrigue and surprise us with the array of tools he is deploying from a Pandora box of politics. Intrigue because from a base without money or support of big businesses or a regional based political party he was able to effect a regime change in PNG, a feat that will be hard to repeat for a long while. Surprised because the man he replaced is no political midget and to successful pull the rug from under   O’Neill’s   feet is a master

PNG WHERE YOUR KINAS BUYS MORE

by  Therow Zuaru ‎ The economy of the world and the way money is valued, is one of the biggest scams of the universe. Money and wealth are naturally backed by mineral resources, land, and basically physical commodities such as precious metals. But in Papua New Guinea, it is not so. It has created a view on national success as putting priority budget areas on financial assistance. It is amusing to watch our politicians continue to become researchers researching into international financial schemes like WB, IMF, Exim Bank, ADB, EU, Ausaid, UBS, EU for soft loans development funds, financial aid to survive. Virtually for almost 45 years these financial institutions have been the proud sponsor for Papua New Guinea existence. Papua New Guinea has been recipient of foreign assistance since independence and prepare our budgets factoring the aid dynamics into them. Important issue we must look at is the financial assistance has obviously been a primordial source of income for many Papu
