Who is Brian Kimmins?

He Claims to be from PNG, but our investigations find otherwise.... He could be a expat! , does it give him the right to control money, or is he being controlled by a third party? Mr. Kimmins was a no good water driller in Lae before in become land transport board chairman. He was running his sister's drilling company in Lae for many years then migrated his family to Brisbane, Australia. As the Land Transport Board Chairman, he absolutely did nothing for the agency. Through political cronisim, he was elated to the post of CSTB. Over the last years, he had been able to live a high lifestyle from driving a beat-up toyota double cab hilux in Lae to some of the high range motor vehicles like a top of the range Nissan Patrol fully kitted. He has also accumulated travel mileage without any real benefit to the CSTB. He has been able to frequently moved his children from Brisbane to Port Moresby at will. Finance Secretary Gabriel Yer, Former Attorney General Francis Damem, and Former Soliciter General Zacchary Gelu stole K1.6 million

Brukim Bus F inance Secretary Gabriel Yer conspired with Francis Damem, Paul Paraka and Zacchary Gelu to steal K1.6 million from the people of PNG as part of the Paraka Scams.  READ IT HERE!   Gabriel Yer, through his lawyer Paul Paraka, submitted a false claim for damages against the State, using the name of his then 9-year-old son, Umba Y Gabriel, to cover his tracks. The Commission of Inquiry found the claim had all the hallmarks of a scam claim created and facilitated by a triad of people in- the highest offices of the PNG bureaucracy. It was initiated by a serving Deputy secretary for Finance (current Secretary, Mr. Gabriel Yer) as principal plaintiff… The claim was settled in record time by a willing Solicitor General (Mr. Zachary Gelu) and an even more obliging Secretary for Justice Department (Mr. Francis Damem). Yer should be immediately sacked and then investigated by the police says the Commission report, a

Controversial businessman and former politician, Peter Yama, conspired with then Solicitor General, Zacchary Gelu, to steal K15.5 million from the people of PNG, according to the report of the Department of Finance Commission of Inquiry. Both Yama and Gelu, together with State lawyers, Neville Devete and Lais Kandi have been recommended for prosecution by the police for their roles in the scam which involved an unlawful claim against the State which the lawyers failed to defend. Peter Yama’s claim was based on his contention that for 9 years from 1990 he was prevented access to a piece of State land that he had leased for 99 years in 1988. Yama filed his claim through Poro lawyers in August 2002, demanding K38 million in damages. The Commission of Inquiry found that Yama’s claim was entirely fraudulent in that: * he failed to comply with a mandatory procedural requirement, * filed his claim many years too late, * had

LNG - not a ‘quick fix’

Paul Barker - Institute of National Affairs We all need to dream. Dreaming perhaps of an ideal Utopia, or with films or books carrying us away from perhaps more mundane lives or encouraging us to think outside the box. Many have been inspired by dreams or encouraging words from teachers or mentors, to develop their talents or pursue opportunities which they might have thought unavailable. Australia’s often been called the lucky country, but PNG is also a land of opportunity for many young people to go and pursue dreams unavailable to many of their parents. Sadly for many in PNG opportunities remain limited or cut short, by lack of education or good health, or access to income opportunities. Nevertheless, for governments, businesses and NGOs alike, dreams must be grounded in practical and achievable objectives, plans and strategies, which are then implemented and carefully monitored to ensure the objectives are being achieved, and if not why not. Stand and Deliver or Move over and let someone else do the job.

Terry Bunpai One commentator said the PM is likely to be a migrant from Asia because he is so much interested in the affairs of Asians in PNG then those of Papua New Guinea. He further commented that the he (PM) goes out to protect their interest ahead of the interest of Papua New Guinea. I have been following recent news stories about the Ramu Nickel Mine and issues which land-owners are taking up to Court to stop the illegal dumping of mine waste in the pristine Basamuk Bay. I hope they win this fight because it is a fight for generations to come, why do we turn a blind eye on our identity for money? We need to start living within our means. The more we think about what we can get from our resources, we will be left with nothing, we will have a future where our children and our children’s children with be heartless over our choices. I strongly support George Ireng and his group in a bid to stop the dumping off Basamuk Bay. Keep fighting because your voices are now heard everywhere. I

SOE chiefs, shape up or ship out

The chief executives officers (CEOs) of Papua New Guinea’s State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) are some of the most highly paid people in the South Pacific region. Many of these CEOs earn two to three times more than their counterparts in the region. Some even make more than the CEO of this country, the Prime Minister. The average salary of a CEO is believed to be well over half a million kina per year. This is just the basic salary. But if other “disguised income” such as entertainment and travel allowances and the unlimited use of credit cards are taken into account, the total income earned by a CEO could easily exceed one million kina per year. A case in point is the CEO of a small state-owned company who earns almost a million kina a year despite the fact that its cash-flow is guaranteed under legislations governing its operation. This particular person travels overseas regularly on “official business”. I’m sure the taxpayers would be interested to know what sort

FREE MAN First Posted on Actnowpng.org 03/05/2010 Names of three highly placed Government MP’s have been named by William Kapris. Apart from being filthy at the crime itself, and how these men cast a doubt on the security of this nation by using elements in the police force and correctional services, I am concerned at the boldness of these individuals. These men are wealthy enough, in the ruling party, and have many avenues to rob this nation’s coffers via white-collar methods. However, the raw criminal nature of these acts and Mafioso technique employed is disturbing and exhibits a “no-care” “I-can-do-whatever-I-want” attitude. These people used real police personnel and weapons in these robberies and even after the robberies were completed, “cockily” arranged for Kapris to hang around town going on drinking sprees in total mockery of our law enforcers. When Kapris got caught, they then simply organized a “walkout” from the nation’s most secured prison facility! It is

SUPPRESSED!

National Editorial William Kapris Nanua is a jail escapee and a suspected robber. He might be credited with having masterminded two bank robberies and a break-in at a gold refining facility, but he is nobody special. He is just one more suspected criminal and deserves to face the full brunt of the criminal justice system of this country. The law does not distinguish between a good or a bad criminal, or an important and a less important one. It defines crimes against the state and society and prescribes punishment. It is only the administrators of the justice system, the judges, the magistrates, the lawyers and the law enforcers in the Royal PNG Constabulary and Correctional Services who allow human feelings to enter the law and its interpretation. Banning journalists from covering Kapris’ court case means information and truth cannot be told to our readers. Heads must roll, Philemon insists

The National THE Opposition has called for the sidelining of minister and secretary and an investigation into the allege K13 million fraud within the National Planning and Rural Development Department. Deputy opposition leader Bart Philemon called on Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare to investigate the alleged K13 million fraud when referring to Kandrian-Gloucester MP and West New Britain deputy governor Tony Puana’s grievance debate comments last Friday. Puana claimed the money was siphoned out through ghost projects and contracts by private firms and individuals who colluded with the department. He alleged these included: * Kilenge Co-operative Society Ltd (KSL) where an amount of K100,000 (BSP cheque) was deposited on Nov 2, 2009, into Nationwide Microbank Ltd in Kimbe for cocoa development and walkabout sawmill has had considerable personal drawings against it between Nov 11 and Nov 25; * A company Kandrian Ltd was awarded K6 million for Kandrian district hospital project on June 3
