Image
by NSO INSIDER National Statistician Roko Koloma has been engaging a company called Data Fix. This company is brought in by Koloma for - Aircon Maintenance - NSO office partitioning - Providing hire vehicles - Providing printing services.  When asked by his close associates of the company's dominance in NSO, he vigorously maintains that he is following orders from the Minister Charles Abel's office to engage the company. Datafix has grown at NSO since Koloma took office. It is engaged with PNG NID project, NSO recurrent and now the Domestic Health Survey. The Deputy national statistician Henao Kari's company has been engaged to replace a door for K80,000.00. Imagine a door costing K80,000.000.  The Accounts Manager Lohia Micheal is providing the catering services to the DHS project. He has his vehicle engaged in NSO for hire. All these dubious deal are happening before the employees of NSO. They talk about it but the buck stops with Minister Charles A

OPEN LETTER TO DON POLYE - "You are one of the few who understand that in excess of K100M – maybe as high as K500M – is missing and unaccounted for in the UBS loan alone"

Image
Congratulations, Mr Polye, on winning the re-count for Kandep district!  We realise sinister political forces were at work to bring about the re-count.  Thankfully you won. PNG needs your leadership now like never before.  As you know we are currently saddled with a limping-along economy that is likely due to corrupt government.  The eyes of all Papua New Guineans are on you to take the lead in challenging the O’Neill administration.       One year ago in the October 8, 2015 edition of the Post Courier you were spot on in your claim that the PNG LNG funds were being parked in an account in Singapore, and not in the Bank of PNG as claimed by the O’Neill administration.  Thank you for bringing that to the light of day. You can’t rest now.  You need to continue to hammer away and demand transparency of  government finances.  In particular you need to focus on the UBS loan, now rolled into a Credit Suisse loan.  Secondly you need to demand full disclosure of the PNG LNG income.

SCAM ALERT: NSO BOSS AND HIS FAMILY LIVE 24/7 AT DREAM INN

Image
By: Sera Lofehna NSO boss Roko Kolomo is currently living at Dream Inn Motel with his family. Dream Inn Motel is very expensive with meals included and to live their for a month and more will cost you alot. The cost of living in Dream Inn and much more expensive than renting an apartment at Ela Vista or Windward at Downtown Port Moresby.  The question is, where would a public servant who has no track record of owning or running a private business would live such an extravagant lifestyle. I hope the source of funding this lucrative lifestyle of living in expensive hotels and frequent overseas trips is not from PNGNID, NSO Reform fund, NSO recurrent budget or the current DHS Project.  The NSO office is runned down with so many outstanding utility bills and setbacks. Roko Kolomo has been going around with his steno secretary Rivu Ilo since 2013. They have a daughter. Roko allocated his official vehicle to Rivu. Rivu is also a custodian to a hire vehicles. She got hersel

WORKS MINISTER'S BACKYARD EARLY VOTE BUYING SCHEME EXPOSED

Image
by NOLPI BUKA The Member for Imbongu and Minister for Works Francis Awesa has consolidated his village support by engaging in early vote buying to ensure base votes from his village of Kiburu and surrounding areas are locked in come election day next year. The Imbongu District Administration under the guise of road improvements have approved questionable road improvement projects based around the Works Minister’s home village. Most of this road projects are non-existent or work not done payment for the MPs village of Kiburu and two neighbouring hamlets were done to ensure his tribesmen would have no choice but to cast their votes at Kiburu. This was done to ensure the two Ballot Boxes earmarked for Kiburu were fully exhausted by his support base. The MP is not new to controversy as it has been public knowledge that he is a known “kickback king” since being appointed Minister for Works under Peter O’Neill’s government. His traits for “Pay-for-Play” are commonly known within the wa

BENEFIT SHARING REMAIN A GREAT CHALLENGE

Image
by CYRIL GARE Resource development, ownership, and fair and equal sharing of benefits accrued from development projects such as mining and oil and gas remain a biggest challenge yet for Papua New Guinea 41 years on as an Independent country. And the people of Londolovit on Lihir island, New Ireland province are among one such group of resource owners who are still searching for a correct matrix to balance the scale. They own the traditional Londolovit river where Newcrest Mining Limited (NML) operator of the Lihir Gold Limited (LGL) extracts water for its operations since 1995. Their fight is three fold between LMALA (Lihir Mining Area Landowners Association) who are owners of the “gold”, LGL, and State. Their issues have been to: get LMALA to acknowledge them as “water” resource owners and remit adequate benefit as possible under the Integrated Benefit Package (IBP) of the Lihir mine Agreement which stand is justified on the premise that water is fundamental in gold processing wi

I CAN BE ANYONE YOU LIKE BECAUSE I AM PETER O'NEILL

Image
by KEVIN TEMO PETER O'NEILL SEEMS TO EXCEL IN CONVINCING PEOPLE HE IS WHATEVER THEY WANT HIM TO BE: This is a standard tool of successful politicians. They start out as followers of the people's will, which is exactly what elected representatives should be in true democracies. The question we must always ask, of course, is whether when the politician says what they think we want to hear, if they will put all their energies into achieving the objectives that we the people lay out for them. Or are they actually trying to serve their private interests using their public position when they're out of site of the people? Are they lying or manipulating the people who elected them by what they say, using their words to achieve nothing more than to secure the people's support, in the shortterm at least, with no care at all to actually serving the people's needs, but with total concern to hanging on to power? Whether or not Peter O'Neill is a genuine, God fearing
