OPEN LETTER TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Image
Dear Prime Minister Greetings to you and the Cabinet. This morning (Monday) 22nd of October 2018 I visited the Cancer Ward at Port Moresby General Hospital at 1:13 am. The purpose of my visit was to see and feel the life in this ward. Hon Prime Minister the first feeling that engulfed me as soon as I opened the door was similar to walking into a morgue.   There was no life in this building except the lights from fluorescent tubes. I will bring you to the realities in this place.   Hon Prime Minister, if you stand where I stood you will see a stretch of corridor. If you look to your left and right, you will see curtains hanging lifelessly on the doors. I believe you would vividly know what is behind those curtains. If you peep through these curtains you will see our mothers, wives and sisters awaiting their deaths. Looking at their lifeless faces and you see Death is inevitable. They expected it to come to them any moment. There are about 36 innocent patie

PROMISED POWERS TO PROVINCES UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Image
by KERENGA KUA, MP, LLB The Shadow Attorney General Kerenga Kua said the Prime Minister's promise to certain Provincial Governments to delegate to them more powers from the Central Government is illegal and unconstitutional under the current framework of our laws. The Prime Minister has no powers to make these promises. Everything he has said about decentralizing more powers to East New Britain, West New Britain, New Ireland and Enga Provinces is all hot air and cannot be done. There are three main reasons for this. Firstly, under our legal framework, the peoples powers is vested in the central government. Then the National Parliament can delegate some of these powers to the provincial and local level governments through an Organic Law. That has already been achieved through the existing Organic Law on Provincial and Local Level Governments. Only North Solomon Province is excluded from this regime. If anymore powers are to be delegated to the provincial governments starting

Connection with Bonifica - Italian Donor of 40 Maserati to PNG APEC

Image
by MICHAEL J. PASSINGAN Many have asked the questions who paid for the 40 Maserati cars that will be used during APEC? Word on the street is that there is a certain expat in Department of Works (name withheld) who originally from Sri Lanka looks after awarding of donor-funded projects. He is the person that PM O'Neil deals directly in any awarding of contracts. The person has a great connection with many influential people and donors around the world. A few months back, a Tender for Highlands Highway Rehabilitation Investment Project (HHRIP) was organised by the DoW with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at a circa K3.0 billion kina to fund the rehabilitation of the highlands highway. Most of the top Engineering companies such as Cardno, SMEC, China Railway Construction, those with exceptional qualification and PNG experience were overlooked with the tender awarded to the Italian Firm - Bonifica. It appears the firm was promised of paying for the Maserati wi

PNG POWER CEO REMINDS PNG THAT WE ARE STILL IN "THE STONE AGE"

by ROBERT T MARAPE PUMA ENERGY which is owned by Prime Minister Peter O'Neill and currently supplies diesel to PNG Power conspired with Carolyn Blacklock to sell off the gas powered gensets because they pose a threat to Puma. It's in exchange for writing off Inter Oil K4b tax owed to the PNG government. Some PNG consortiums are interested in buying the gensets to establish gas power stations to supply power to PNG Power at a cheaper rate than that of diesel power. There seems to be conspiracy and conniving between certain top elements in government, Carolyn Blacklock and expatriates in Deloitte, Puma Energy, PNG Power to rob PNG further by selling the gensets that originally cost K50m each or total K100m. Obviously, they will sell to their preferred buyers under shady deals for a private commission The government has transferred the two GE generators to PPL to utilise local gas for power generation. Under the controversies over APEC spendings etc, PPL, in particular, Ca

POM GEN RUNS OUT OF ANTIRETROVIAL DRUGS WHILE APEC FANTASY SPENDING SPREE CONTINUES

From Dr. Glen Mola... Not always good news! Today we heard at our PMGH staff meeting that we have run out of antiretroviral (ART or HIV drugs) medicines. We have many thousands of HIV positive people on treatment in NCD (and several more thousand around the rest of the country) and they may not have any medicine to take unless new supplies arrive in the very near future. People on ART must take their medicine every single day: they they stop and start again they are very likely to breed resistant HIV. This is not only bad (in fact life-threatening) for the patient, but life-threatening for everybody else in the community who might catch the HIV from them. We also don't have any Syphilis test kits in the country. Syphilis used to be the commonest cause of stillbirth (babies dying inside their mothers) in our audit stats.- and after we started routine testing of all mothers coming to AN clinics (and treating the positives) we virtually eliminated this scourge from our pregnant

500 cars procured by APEC in free-for-all

Image
Press Statement by SIR MEKERE MORAUTA APEC Authority documents show that at least 500 vehicles have been procured by the O’Neill Government for APEC, many of them Land Cruisers and Prados similar in luxury to the Bentleys, Maseratis and Mahindras. “The astonishing total indicates that a free-for-all of greed is taking place under the guise of APEC,” Sir Mekere Morauta, Member for Moresby North-West said today. “Many of them have been claimed by the Prime Minister, the APEC Minister and top APEC Authority officials, who already have vehicles allocated to them as part of their contracts. “Others have gone to Ministers and their outriggers, public servants and the heads of statutory bodies who are also allocated vehicles as part of their contracts. Sir Mekere said the APEC Authority documents do not reveal the total cost of vehicle acquisitions. But it must be astronomical, he said. Nor do the documents indicate whether public competitive tenders were called for all thes

by ROBERT MARAPE On the eve of APEC, Minister Justin Tkatchenko the Minister for Lands and APEC under the Peter O'Neill Government stands accused of nepotisim and promoting homosexuality, He brought over his lover and former EMTV News Presenter  Tukana Hasavi Jr on a very lucrative contract to the APEC Authority according to sources inside APEC. Justin Tkathenko according to APEC Secretariat staff brought this gay lover Tukana Hasavi to APEC Secretariat and created a position that never existed on the structure and placed him on a lucrative contract, as sources tell us, Hasavi is an empty suit someone with no experience. Tkatchenko rents an expensive apartment for Hasavi across the road off Boroko market, He has a collection of tailor-made suits handpicked and bought of course by his lover Minister Tkatchenko. He shops lavishly, he has a young family from a central wife but that is just a window dressing just like Justin Tkatchenko who is also married with a family but is h

STRIKE NOW OR LOSE YOUR COUNTRY

by  RYAN AWAI You might argue that my son (or daughter) has an exam and I can not allow this strike, or that my manager will not allow me, or I have a vital meeting, etc, etc. BUT yet you want the best for your family, best for this country and always dream of good opportunities for your kids' education, their employment and their bright future....simply put it, you desire for the best socio-economic outcomes to happen ...... but can NOT afford to sacrifice something today against such a corrupt govt for the benefit of the very life you aspire to see today and the years to come? Then you appear more like a weakling and a free rider on other people's sacrifices (period!). Others will pay the price and you flow through easily. PNG right now is in a desperate SOS or ICU condition and we DO NOT NEED YOU SU, H WEAKLINGS!!! Bigger sacrifices (spilling of blood through horrible wars, civil unrest & revolutions etc) were made by others in this world for the good of their c
