MRDC'S SOUTH PACIFIC PEARL RESORT IN FIJI IN FINANCIAL TROUBLE

Image
MRDC is the Trustee of funds belonging to Landowners of major resource projects in the country. It makes "investments" on behalf of the landowners. Peter O'Neil in his capacity as PM owns the shares of MRDC and Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari is the Chairman of the Board. In 2012 CEO Augustine Mano and the MRDC board bought the fledgeling Resort in Fiji with much fanfare. The resort boasts an 18 hole golf course and numerous swimming pools. This transaction was rushed despite opposition from landowners and against the advice of experts in the hospitality industry in Fiji. MRDC not only purchased the resort but it also invested heavily in the construction of a new wing. It appears that the resort is now in serious financial strife with very low occupancy rates and dwindling income. Rooms are believed to be offered now for as low as K120 as no one is going there. The financial status of the resort and all other MRDC investments cannot be confirmed as the financial statem

ONE BIG F**KED UP DEAL BY THE PEKATO MAN

1.       The 40 Maseratis have no software to make them go so Maserati experts have flown from Australia to install it. At additional expense. 2.       The Maseratis have constant electronic connection to the factory in Italy, but PNG internet speed is not sufficient for them to work. 3.       A full time mechanical team have to be here during APEC to keep them running.  All extra expense. 4.       The diesel in PNG is unsuitable and will bugger the engines, turbo and catalytic convertors. 5.       The eventual buyers will have to pay all import duties. 6.       There is no warranty on the cars. 7.       World Bank have told the Government that unless there is a very good explanation for these cars, the loan of USD 100 million will be withheld. Good stuff. 8.       Since Trump has pulled out of attending and VP Pence will stay in Cairns and fly in and out for one day in POM, the American team has reduced from 1600 to 400.  This has meant that the PNG Government  has le

OPEN LETTER TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Image
Dear Prime Minister Greetings to you and the Cabinet. This morning (Monday) 22nd of October 2018 I visited the Cancer Ward at Port Moresby General Hospital at 1:13 am. The purpose of my visit was to see and feel the life in this ward. Hon Prime Minister the first feeling that engulfed me as soon as I opened the door was similar to walking into a morgue.   There was no life in this building except the lights from fluorescent tubes. I will bring you to the realities in this place.   Hon Prime Minister, if you stand where I stood you will see a stretch of corridor. If you look to your left and right, you will see curtains hanging lifelessly on the doors. I believe you would vividly know what is behind those curtains. If you peep through these curtains you will see our mothers, wives and sisters awaiting their deaths. Looking at their lifeless faces and you see Death is inevitable. They expected it to come to them any moment. There are about 36 innocent patie

PROMISED POWERS TO PROVINCES UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Image
by KERENGA KUA, MP, LLB The Shadow Attorney General Kerenga Kua said the Prime Minister's promise to certain Provincial Governments to delegate to them more powers from the Central Government is illegal and unconstitutional under the current framework of our laws. The Prime Minister has no powers to make these promises. Everything he has said about decentralizing more powers to East New Britain, West New Britain, New Ireland and Enga Provinces is all hot air and cannot be done. There are three main reasons for this. Firstly, under our legal framework, the peoples powers is vested in the central government. Then the National Parliament can delegate some of these powers to the provincial and local level governments through an Organic Law. That has already been achieved through the existing Organic Law on Provincial and Local Level Governments. Only North Solomon Province is excluded from this regime. If anymore powers are to be delegated to the provincial governments starting

Connection with Bonifica - Italian Donor of 40 Maserati to PNG APEC

Image
by MICHAEL J. PASSINGAN Many have asked the questions who paid for the 40 Maserati cars that will be used during APEC? Word on the street is that there is a certain expat in Department of Works (name withheld) who originally from Sri Lanka looks after awarding of donor-funded projects. He is the person that PM O'Neil deals directly in any awarding of contracts. The person has a great connection with many influential people and donors around the world. A few months back, a Tender for Highlands Highway Rehabilitation Investment Project (HHRIP) was organised by the DoW with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at a circa K3.0 billion kina to fund the rehabilitation of the highlands highway. Most of the top Engineering companies such as Cardno, SMEC, China Railway Construction, those with exceptional qualification and PNG experience were overlooked with the tender awarded to the Italian Firm - Bonifica. It appears the firm was promised of paying for the Maserati wi

PNG POWER CEO REMINDS PNG THAT WE ARE STILL IN "THE STONE AGE"

by ROBERT T MARAPE PUMA ENERGY which is owned by Prime Minister Peter O'Neill and currently supplies diesel to PNG Power conspired with Carolyn Blacklock to sell off the gas powered gensets because they pose a threat to Puma. It's in exchange for writing off Inter Oil K4b tax owed to the PNG government. Some PNG consortiums are interested in buying the gensets to establish gas power stations to supply power to PNG Power at a cheaper rate than that of diesel power. There seems to be conspiracy and conniving between certain top elements in government, Carolyn Blacklock and expatriates in Deloitte, Puma Energy, PNG Power to rob PNG further by selling the gensets that originally cost K50m each or total K100m. Obviously, they will sell to their preferred buyers under shady deals for a private commission The government has transferred the two GE generators to PPL to utilise local gas for power generation. Under the controversies over APEC spendings etc, PPL, in particular, Ca
