MILLIONAIRE MINISTER SELLS BRISBANE PROPERTY FOR K6 MILLION

Image
by MICHAEL PASSINGAN Justin Tkatchenko Minister for Housing and Member for Port Moresby South is listing his 2nd Brisbane property for a cool $2.8 Million dollars. This is one of many properties own by Justin Tkatchenko and his PNG wife. He also owned 15 Upper Brookfield Road property also in Brisbane which is a 8.5 acre property in Brisbane which he sold last year for $1.6 Million. In 2010 Justin Tkatchenko received over K3 million in payments from the National Capital District through his landscaping companies Kitoro No.33 and PNG Gardner. It is claimed these payments, were authorised by NCDC Governor Powes Parkop in breach of the Public Finance Management Act, the NCDC Act and the Organic Law on the Leadership Code. The payments, which were made for work on the NCDC Mini Park, Water Fountain, Waterslide and Zoo and Animal Farm, were made with no quotations provided and no public tendering process – breaching the fundamental principles of value for money, transparency, effective comp

JAME MARAPE IS NO STRANGER TO ELECTION RIGGING

Image
by SIMON TEMO In 2017, It was no surprise that James Marape has retain his seat in the Tari Pori electorate. However, given the circumstance surrounding rumors that the elections in Hela was rigged, there is now evidence surfacing that speaks volumes. Remember, numbers don't lie.  On an interview with EMTV on the 9th of July 2017, Marape himself claimed that he was declared on 50% majority on the first count, to be exact 30,192, which means that the total eligible voters for Tari Pori in 2017 election was about 60,000 plus. However, looking back on past elections, it appears the numbers don't add up. In 2007, total eligible voters for Tari Pori was 37,473. He scored 6,147 1st prefence votes to win (roughly 12% of the voters). In 2012, total voters were 40,039 of which he scored 13,661 of 1st preference votes (34% of the total votes). He went on to win with 18,258 after completion of elimination. From current results, it appears that the total voter population increased by 20,

THE CORRUPT ATTORNEY GENERAL OF PNG.. PART 3

Image
Part.1 and 2 report published in social media captured some of the critical matters which of course requires a full-scale investigation into the Administration and financial affairs of the Department of Justice and Attorney General. This is a part.3 investigation report which focuses mainly on the payment authorized by Secretary for Justice before the close of 2020 which further stresses the qualification of payments and whether these payments were applied to the intended purpose and in accordance with the Department annual work.  These payments include the followings; ; Payment for Accommodation & Conference Observation • The purpose of the creation of the Budget Steering Committee (BSC) was to assess the availability of funds, review requisitions against source documentation and endorse for processing of payments before the Secretary grant his Section.32 approval before the actual cheque payment is collected for a particular service.  • This means that all release of funds fo

William Duma- Reminding you of your Roots!

by FRANK MENEM JR Our forefathers were the first celebrated people on earth to have toiled the land and farm the upper Wahgi Valley. We have survived without any resources apart from our land from which we cultivate and propagate our fresh vegetables and green coffee beans. Those legendary men and women were among the prominent Highlanders to embrace the ‘white men’ during the wave of civilization. They were classified as the first known primitives who were hospitable and capable of forging lasting relationships with the Europeans. Our people were classified as permanently rich in culture and abundantly wealthy by the first Europeans. A Catholic Missionary had this to write about our people; “The Hagen people of the Wagi raised pigs in abundance and at times, they would even slaughter up to a thousand in a day for their neighbors or allies to celebrate or mark their relationship”. During the migration epochs after the onset of the Leahy brothers, we had more than a

PETER O'NEILL PERSONALLY AND UNILATERALLY DIRECTED PNG TO BORROW USD$1.2 BILLION

Image
by DR PATRICK ONGUGLO The stitched up act in Parliament last week all a lie... Peter O'Neill used his position as PM to put PNG into more debt, read how O'Neill drummed up this idea back in 2014. Prime Minister Peter O’Neill (‘aka O’Steal) has personally and unilaterally directed that the State of PNG borrow US$1.2 Billion Dollars through international financiers syndicated by the Swiss UBS Bank, to buy 10% of Oil Search Limited (OSL) shares. It is believed this transaction is motivated by personal gain. Therefore, this loan is believed to be for a corrupt outcome. This corruption is perpetrated by UBS and other international banks lending the money.  PNG does not need the loan. It is Peter ONeill who needs the loan for his own corrupt gain. He is using the country’s assets to obtain a personal benefit. This must be made very clear to the international lenders. On this basis, no future PNG Government will be liable to repay the funds, lent for an illegal purpose.  As o

Reason behind O'Neill's wet pants moment running to Supreme Court to stop VONC

Image
by HELASON OPENE You know why Mr Panic O'Neill ran over to Supreme Court to stop VONC? Here is the real reason... Supreme Court interpretation of Sections 19 of the Organic Law on Integrity of Political Parties and Candidates was made by the former Chief Sir Salamo Injia in 2011 and 2016. It was ruled, some parts of this section of the constitution unconstitutional (removed). No longer applicable; 1) Part of the law (Section 19) that states, all PM candidates must be leaders of their political parties and must have the highest number of its candidates winning in elections. Only parties with the highest number will be allowed by the Governor General to form a government. #RULLING: Supreme Court ruling made this part of the law unconstitutional (removed). That means any MP can be a PM candidate regardless as long as he/she can master the number on the floor of Parliament. 2) Part of the law (Section 19) that states, MPs who have voted for a PM in the formation of the new g

PNGDF SO BROKE AIR WING BREAKS SOP AND STARTS CHARTER/FERRY SERVICE

Image
by CAPTAIN NOBERT BAN It is so sad the PNGDF Air Element has been hijacked by certain PNGDF pilots and Engineers for sinister reasons. It is amazing to note that the same thieves within PNGDF have been abusing the aircraft by way of engaging into commercial operations at the expense of Tax Payers to make millions in clear profit. On 13 July 2016, whilst doing one of such commercial flights from Telefomin to Vanimo, the aircraft developed reduced oil pressure on its right hand engine Propeller Reduction Gearbox (PGB). The crew procedurally shut down the affected engine on reaching 18000 ft cruise altitude. Indications of imminent failure were detected whilst passing 15000ft on climb...thank God didn't happen on take off roll or immediately after take off. After shutting down the engine, it was realised that the Propellers of the affected engine didn't feather. This resulted in creation of aerodynamic drag and reduction in performance. To maintain altitude,

PM should stand down over his corporate conduct

Image
[Press Release by Rt Hon Sir Mekere Morauta] Prime Minister Peter O’Neill should stand down and submit himself to an independent external inquiry into very serious allegations of personal and corporate impropriety. The allegations concern his then wholly-owned construction company Wild Cat Developments Ltd and a bridge-building contract with the Asian Development Bank. The bank investigated the contract and found it to be improperly and incompletely implemented by Mr O’Neill’s company. The bank found proper tender processes had not been followed, rigging of the tender process, misrepresentation, financial management deficiencies, potential integrity violations, serious procurement irregularities, contravention of contract terms, and lack of qualification to tender. Reports by the Guardian newspaper and the PNGi network state that the 2015-2016 project in West New Britain Province “was fraught with problems, requiring the ADB to temporarily stop payments and send in inspector

In Papua New Guinea shanty-towns, residents question APEC legacy

Image
by PHILIP WEN PORT MORESBY: Barely a five-minute drive from the US$50 million conference venue for the just-concluded Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Papua New Guinea's capital, a makeshift squatter settlement is tucked away from visiting world leaders. The Wanigela settlement in Port Moresby looks out directly over APEC Haus, but might as well be a world away. With the South Pacific nation's rainy season looming, Wanigela's thousands of residents are packed together in overcrowded and dilapidated dwellings with no sanitation and unreliable electricity supplies. For all the hope and promise the APEC summit would put PNG on the world stage – and attract investment that will translate into jobs and infrastructure – many are questioning how such an international event will benefit their everyday lives. "The government says APEC is going to improve our lives, but I don’t know, because our politics is not trustworthy," said Bra

DANGEROUS SECRECY BEHIND THE CLOSE DOOR BETWEEN CHINA AND PNG DEBT-TRAP NATION.

Image
by JAYLON JACOB Everyone knows the history and international politics, I will just give a brief ... Power in international relations is defined in several different ways.. Those states that have significant amounts of power within the international system are referred to as Superpowers, big powers, middle powers, and small powers respectively. The power is measured by military and economic power. Countries like the US, Russia, China are a superpower...Example of Big power countries are Great Britain, France and for middle power in Australia and few others...So PNG fits into small power group...That means PNG can be easily influenced by Super Power countries in terms of money via aid and military by conducting an exchange training programme or other means. Going back to political history..The Cuban Missile Crisis, in 1962 confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union concerning American ballistic missile deployment in Italy and Turkey with consequent Soviet ballist
