The tale of two knights

Image
by TAENG KA The is the tale of PNG’s two newest Knights, or Sir’s as the Brits would have you say. It makes for a frighteningly intriguing tale of two MPs that hail from the same Province, Enga. One is the current governor for Enga, Sir Peter Ipatas, and the other is the current MP for Kompiam Ambum, in Enga Province. Both are long serving Members of Parliament. Both were knighted, same time, in 2022. Fascinating! This is probably where their similarity ends. So how did both become Knights? One is a true son of Enga, widely recognised in the country as the best Governor the country has ever seen. A truly remarkable and visionary leader who had the foresight to develop Enga’s intellectual capacity. He figured education held the key to the success of its people. His ideas are now being copied by other provinces, albeit a little too late. This is truly a tale of two contrasting people; one a leader that arguable deserves the knighthood more than any other person in PNG’s history, if servi

How Peter O’Neill Mismanaged PNG's Economy.

Image
by HARINI MATABI ALUMALE PNGeans, we seem to FORGET things very easily and blow with the wind of PROPAGANDA to believe falsified make-believe social media posts, controlled mainstream media headlines (controlled by conglomerate Foreign companies & Former regime), and gossips on the streets. Those of you praising your Master on Media and Facebook forums must read this carefully and this are few but I will post in details from time to time . Peter O’Neill|KING wiru Mari | Leadership 1. The K37 billion loan (dinau) incurred by former Prime Minister Peter O'Neill that you and me and our children will have to 'repay' in the years to come. 2. The inflated contracts in billions of Kina by Peter O'Neill that was swept under the carpet in the name of "Infrastructure". The 10% cuts and excessive overpriced costs for all infrastructures are something that PNGeans must know. For example, the back road from 9mile to Gerehu/Baruni costed almost to a billion Kina when it

I SUPPORT PRIME MINISTER JAMES MARAPE TO LEAD PNG

Image
by DON POMB POLYE I do realise in the mind of the young a DESIRE FOR MORALLY  UPRIGHT ways of life for PNG. An UPRIGHT life for THEMSELVES, do they crave for!!!. The inference I have deduced expressed in social media and talking to many of them is that,  the  poor leadership  that some leaders have provided  has hampered their progress and success. The conduct of some leaderships have set very bad precedence that has misled many of them. The young have been confused as to which is the right example to follow or who would be the  correct lifestyle role model to emulate in National leadership, public service,  private sector,  in  or in other fields. The success stories are very rare in this country while  corruption and failure  is very  frequent and prevalent in their daily lives. The confidence of many of our  young has dwindled. This is very serious matter!!!  Business, politics, religion, family, traditions, cultures, public service, private sector, professionalism, employment , deve

AN OPEN LETTER TO SIR PETER IPATAS

Image
by LAKEN LEPATU AIGILO Greetings PI, foremost, let me congratulate you for winning the Enga Regional Seat in the 2017 National Election through election-corruption. In one of the days of February 2017 before the election, we met at the opening of Waiyep Lodge at Laiagam and I heartedly greeted you. You exchanged with a handshake with your trademark smile and called me ‘Son!’ I replied, ‘Yes Dad, I’m here to greet you!’ and you elaborated, ‘Almost Son!’ I responded, ‘Yes we are father-son,’ then we had little conversation about the event and I concluded by saying, ‘Ikinigim Takange pigelion sin namenakap’ (Son challenging father so don’t hold my sins). You responded, ‘You are exercising your democratic rights and I don’t mind but let us play a ‘FAIR GAME.’ I was thrilled by your response and agreed for a ‘FAIR GAME’ and we dismissed. However, the outcome speaks otherwise that you had willfully LIED! I regret calling you dad. I don’t know what to call you; a Liar, a snake in the

PNG'S CHIEF JUSTICE COULD BE CORRUPT, HERE'S WHY

Image
by LEKEM LAKI The Deputy Chief Justice his Honour Gibs Salika rightly said in the national paper dated 14th March 2016 titled “Graft a disease” and he referred to the level of corruption rampant in the country cutting across every sector of PNG society. In that he meant to say, corruption isn’t “growing but is overgrown”. The concern raised is alarming in nature but it doesn’t become a cause of concern or raises goose bumps. The corruption is entrenched and deeply embedded in every stratum of government bureaucracy and agencies. The practice is normalised and given the longevity in continued practice, it has become a norm or second nature if you like to people who practice. With the proliferation of corruption, people aren’t remorseful or let alone raise goose bumps. The Department of Justice and Attorney General Secretary Dr. Lawrence Kalinoe refused Damarua’s request to engage private law firm. Damarua and the entire Fraud Squad team aren’t fighting tooth and nail the monster (ov

17 Candidates, 13 Elimininated, Sir Ipapotamus Hijacks Enga Governorship by force

Image
PETER IPATAS showed his true colors last night after he used his might to force his declaration as Governor of Enga.  An desperate Election Manager riddle with bribe and and his team after bulldozing purity check went into the elimination process yesterday afternoon bulldozing and declaring at 3am Friday 28th after 13th eliminations.  There are 17th Provincial candidates and declaration would have been made with the absolute majority at 175,000 but Ipatas forced his declaration after tallying 141,000 votes. Official signing of writs has not taken place yet as Wabag is still in lockdown from the incident last week which saw the death of two policemen from MS-06 based out of Hagen. The Election Manager, PPC, ROs, AROs, POs to Counting Officials are PI's obvious strong supporters.  Peter Ipastas election rigging evil syndicate played evil again at the counting room wherein they did selective-counting to give an early lead to PI & his PNC Candidates.

Who is George Kakas in Pundari and Ipatas' 20 years of political reign?

Image
by YAKEN LEPAKALI Untangling a piece of the puzzle; Peter Ipatas, Pundari, George Kakas and the realm of regional, national and local politics.  We will examine the current Provincial Police Commander, Sup George Kakas in a huge maze puzzle. In 1997, George Kakas used policed issue gun and shot his cousin brother Joe Krammer Kandamain at point-blank. The latter a contestant in Kompiam Ambum.  Kandamain was then a deputy commissioner at IRC. Thank Miss lucky luck the next day he was airlifted direct to Australia. That traumatic night, Kakas was providing security escort for Pundari’s hijacked ballot boxes to wabag town. Kandamain and late Nere were providing logistics for the failed onslaught ambush that night. Kandamain was supporting his cousin brother Augustine Kunuman Kyakas, brother of former Enga Election manager Henry Kyakas. FYI, Kyakas, Kandamain, Pundari and Kakas are blood cousin brothers. Anyways, PPC George Kakas was suspended for many years due to this incident. Usin

IPATAS CORNERED BRING UP LATE MALIPU BALAKAU TO RESUSCITATE CHANCES

Image
by SAM TAMEAN (Enga Waii Pii) Peter Ipatas the sitting Governor for Enga Province trailing terribly in campaign 2017 under Prime Minister Peter O'Neill's PNC Party. He has now resorted to playing the system by issuing a PREVENTATIVE ORDER to the front runner Jeffrey Balakau 7days ago. Part of the Preventative order by Peter Ipatas to Jeffery Balakau states: "Ipatas claimed in the order that he (Ipatas) was accused of being the one who killed late Malipu Balakau and in revenge Ipatas claims Jeffrey Balakau in his campaign is going around saying he will kill Ipatas hence the order" The matter is postponed to Wednesday to talk face to face in front of OMS and PPC between Balakau and Ipatas to verify the claims. For all  who do now know the history behind this, the late Malipu Balakau was assassinated June 30 1989 and that's like 28 years ago when he was the Enga Regional Member in Mt Hagen. Now.... Why wait until now when team Balakau has campaigned

WHY IPATAS JOINS PNC PARTY AT THE ELEVENTH HOUR?

Image
by WABAG OBSERVER Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas' defection from his People's Party to join the ruling PNC party in the eleventh -hour has attracted criticisms, wanders and, of course, amazement from the citizens. His move was made during the seven-day nomination period. He made the decision after its party had prepared itself well to contend for the top post this election. It hosted its party convention at his motel Bluff Inn outside Port Moresby. His supporters and fans have flowed with his decision, a something which Ipatas defended as a move to maintain political stability after the election like confirmed by PM O'Neill who said he moved to PNC at his own will. His critics alleged him for being lured with the promise of PSIP and other funds in light of the cashflow crisis. This was not in the best interest of the province where it is known for its integrity and quality leadership in the country. PNG's former Opposition Leader late Sir Tei Abal, late Sir Alb

ISAAC LUPARI STILL STEALING AS CHIEF SECRETARY, NOW USING PM's OFFICE TO STEAL EVEN MORE

Image
by MICHAEL PASSINGAN The Government’s Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari who heads the Country's Public Service machinery has once again come under the spot light of corrupt activities. Lupari who not long ago was identified to be at the center of the K3.7 million fraud by the Finance Department Commission of Inquiry. (but was never prosecuted). This time Lupari has been seen to be using the office of the Prime Minister and his position as the Chief Secretary to steal. On December 2015 Chief Secretary  Isaac Lupari advised the Prime Minister's Department by writing that the Prime Minister approved K1 million from the PM's Commitment Funds for the Ipatas Foundation Inc in which he is the Executive Chairman. The Ipatas Foundation Inc is a non-profit organisation established by the Enga Provincial Government. The foundation is registered and certified under the Association Incorporation Act of PNG and is run by a board who are appointed by the Enga Provincial Executive C

THE "RESPECT YOUR POLLIE" SICKNESS COMES TO ENGA

Image
NIUGINI OUTLOOK HERE WE GO AGAIN - THE "RESPECT YOUR POLLIE" SICKNESS COMES TO ENGA, THIS TIME COURTESY OF LOSU LOLAN: We are beginning to think that there is a radical difference between the youth of Enga, whose educational levels overall are much higher than the older generations, and those older generations. The older generations seem to still misunderstand the value of democracy and what is needed to ensure a vibrant democracy. Thus we have Losu Lolan coming out with the challenge that the people of Enga next year re-elect Pita Ipatas unopposed. In other words, turn Enga into a dictatorship. Just like Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe is always using the word respect, so too does Losu Lolan. He feels it is a proper sign of respect to let Pita Ipatas run unopposed next year. We assume that Losu would also be the first fellow in line to put Pita Ipatas on his shoulders like some kind of king or idol worship. The days of kings and queens are over in the world except
