MARAPE & PAITA ABOUT TO SIGN AWAY PNG GOLD

Image
By: Andrew Arthur Prime Minister Hon. James Marape and his planning minister Reinbo Paita are the parties behind the theft of all Papua New Guinea’s gold for the next 100 years! They have given approval for the STATE of Papua New Guinea to sign away all gold rights to an Australian paper company in Refinery Holdings PTE LTD. First, they have done the deal with a paper company even before there is a LAW that says they have the right to do the deal. We see how the real manipulation works out. Marape and Paita now need to get the law passed by Parliament. The law is before the Parliament to set up Papua New Guinea’s first National Gold Corporation. The National Gold Corporation Bill first surfaced in 2012 but successive Government of Sir Michael Somare and Hon. Peter O’Neill, in their wisdom, had refused to pass this Bill as there have been some sinister motives and constitutional issues associated with the Bill. The new bill will allow Refinery Holdings LTD PTE to own 70% of the National

PNGDF IS NOW A 'MILKING COW' FOR WANTOKS AND NEPOTISM!

Image
By : OBO SEVA Never ending filth of corruption surfacing again at PNGDF. Its now against the Defence Secretary Mr John Akipe who claimed to be unqualified and corrupt after being appointed into the Defence Department (DOD) as Secretary. The mind boggling questions; 1. Is he the right and qualified person for the job among others who are much qualified in terms of expertise and qualifications? 2. How was he appointed in the first place? 3. What were his previous jobs apart from being PMJM's Campaign Manager? Refer to the copy list attached. Those names mentioned are handpicked by the DF Secretary himself with no merit, qualifications and NEVER gone through the recruitment process. They are classified as casuals and being paid exorbitantly at the expense of the Service Personnel (soldiers) which is the Department main responsibility to look after them. The list outlined the amount he and his wantoks being paid by DOD. All of them have been engaged on short term contr

BLAME THE CRIMINALS IN POWER, NOT THE PEOPLE OF SHP

by CAPTAIN JAMES MAKOP I have warned time and again that our people have patience but that patience is not infinite.  Our respect for those elevated to leadership status have always been given without question or reservation but the manner in which that respect had and continues to be abused has now brought about a paradigm shift in our perception of political and societal leadership.  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED TIME AND AGAIN YET YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN HEED. YOU HAVE WROUGHT UNWARRANTED SUFFERINGS ON 8 MILL ION PEOPLE AND PERVERTED THE RULE OF LAW TO ENTRENCH YOUR VESTED INTERESTS.  JUDICIARY, YOU STAND GUILTY OF COMPLICIT IN ABETTING THE CRIMINALS IN POWER TO MAINTAIN STATUS QUO. WHAT HAD TRANSPIRED NOW IN THE BURNING OF AN AIRCRAFT BELONGING TO THE NATIONAL AIRLINE, SUBJECTING THE LIVES OF CREW AND PASSENGERS TO GRAVE RISK IS DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTED TO YOUR HANDLING OF MATTERS OF LAW IN THE DELIBERATE OBFUSCATION OF JUSTICE. MORE WILL FOLLOW AND THE BLOOD SPILT WILL BE ON YOUR HANDS.  Peo

WITH EMBASSIES AROUND THE WORLD BEING CLOSED, PNG IS ON THE VERGE OF INTERNATIONAL HUMILIATION

Image
by KERENGA KUA MP It is with great sadness and disappointment that we learned of the unfortunate recent court decision in Washington DC to lock out PNG. Embassy staff following three months of arrears in rental payments. The Parliamentary Leader and Member for Sinasina Yongomugl Mr Kerenga Kua said, "The O'Neill Government has spent a fortune during the campaign period telling Papua New Guinea, in a series of glossy advertisements, about how it has put PNG on the world stage. Hosting regional and global events has given us some recognition, but at the cost of so many other high priority areas like health and education. "Sadly, it is that very world stage that will witness us shame ourselves as we close foreign mission after foreign mission. So far this year we have failed to pay UN fees calling the failure an administrative glitch to avoid further humiliation. "High Commission and Embassy staff in Singapore, Beijing and Washington has had to

PNG – CHANGE NEEDED TO MEET PEOPLE'S POTENTIAL

Image
by PAUL FLANAGAN Summary PNG politicians are failing their people. Their poor policies have led to dramatic declines in economic well-being – an extraordinary fall of over one-third since 1980. This is revealed by applying new numbers from the PNG National Statistics Office (NSO) and International Monetary Fund to PNG’s economic history. From 2012 to 2017, under the O’Neill government, average economic well-being for the people of PNG has declined by 2.8%. This reverses positive economic gains of 8.4% from 2000 to 2012. PNG is returning to the poor economic performance it experienced during the 1980s and especially the 1990s – lost decades for development. This is a shame. From 1980 to 2017, economic well-being in PNG per citizen declined by an extraordinary 40.4 %. This is a development failure. In contrast, the resource sector has grown strongly.  It is now 48.1% larger per capita than in 1980. The resource sector boomed by 62% during the 1990s when the no

PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL IS A DEATH TRAP

by STAFF WRITERS 1.  PIH is a business entity whose primary goal is to make money. No money, No treatment. 2.  PIH does not care about your health. 3.  PIH recruits a few good doctors only to boost its public relations image, just like any business. 4.  PIH  thrives on the health misfortunes of Papua New Guineans to a large extent. 5.  PIH is just part of  network of corruption that extends to government agencies and companies. Pacific International Hospital (PIH) was registered under suspicious circumstances. When the issue of registration came up with the Medical Board of PNG (chairman late Dr Pangatana), there were many issues the PIH had to fulfil before a licence was granted to operate as a hospital. The Health Minister at the time used his ministerial power to order the Medical Board of PNG to grant the licence. It was common knowledge at the time that the particular minister a “very close” friend of the principal owner of PIH. The ownership issue of PIH has to b

FRIGHTENING GOVERNMENT PERFORMANCE IN 8 KEY AREAS OF THE ECONOMY

NATIONAL BUDGET SPOOKS PRIVATE BUSINESS AND INVESTMENT IN PNG   by WILSON TALAG Economist Paul Flanagan's recent remarks that appeared in PNG Blogs and elsewhere highlight 8 key areas of what looks to be looming financial disaster.  Mr Flanagan's enlightening report is the basis for this discussion and why the performance of each one of the key areas has started to  spook business and investors.  The seriousness of PNG’s current financial situation is becoming very clear.   A little over a week ago the government came very close to failing to come up with the year end public servant pay.  This near disaster occurred despite supplementary budgets designed to avoid such unexpected money shortages.   Another red flag flying high and warning that behind the scenes, PNG's finances are rapidly deteriorating under the O'Neill government. The 8 key areas of concern are (1) Government lies over the actual size and growth of the PNG economy, (2) Discrepancies  ove
