The Budget Accountability of the IPIC Loan

Image
By SAM BASIL MP The Opposition exposed the 2014 Budget Deficit for the citizens of Papua New Guinea (PNG) to be a rushed, templated copy of the 2013 Budget Deficit. This was to show the O’Neil government’s inefficient management of the country’s economy and the Opposition understood and forewarned earlier in 2014, that the impending Budget Deficit would be alot higher than what was announced where the details were not well explained and where the O’Neil government would not be able to account properly for their financial promises. There has been many a “smoke and mirror” charade by the O’Neil Government with media statements lacking facts but rather story lines blaming all others including the Opposition without explaining the actual facts. One of these storylines is that the Government is not able to pay DSIP funds on time as required by the Constitution and this must provide the guidance for the people that something is going on that is not transparent or fair for all Papua New Guine

PNGBLOGS Here is another one on corruption during the reign of Peter O’Neill as PM. Remember the 2011 supplementary budget of K500 million declared by Finance & Treasury Minister Don Polye? Where did all that money go? How was it appropriated? That K500 million surplus budget was used to fund the 2012 elections of the PNC and THE parties. Don Polye’s campaign funding from this K500 million was sourced thru a construction company call Tepman contractors. Funds were remitted to the Kandep district treasury and eventually paid to the contractor. The owner is Luke Minjikuli a first cousin to Polye. His party benefited more thru funding for David Arore, Dellilah Gore, Douglas Tomuriesa, Sali Subam and all the other winning and loosing candidates who contested under the THE party ticket. Tomuriesa benefited thru his company called Quick Span Building Systems Ltd where K6 million was paid by the South Fly District treasury after these money was remitted from the Finance Dept. Open Letter to the Minister For Education. Hon. James Marabe MP

Dear Minister, Strengthen Science in Our Schools to Address Religious Bigotry. Since  the action taken by the Speaker to remove the work of Art that graced our Parliament, I have tried to rationalised his behaviour and that of a large number of our Population including members of parliament that support him and have come to the conclusion that his action is  grounded in the  real fear of the supernatural and it is a fear shared by a large part of our Populace and  reflects  the lack of a basic scientific understanding  of causes and effect that  influence the natural world we live in. It is the same fear that leads illiterate villagers to burn their womenfolk for belief in sorcery and leads to unnecessary tribal fights where sorcery is belief to be the cause of death. I have listen to you articulate and speak in the past on major issues that confront our young Nation and would like to think that among the chaos that surround us today you will emerge as the rational voice of the future
