The Sacrilege of Parliament & the Demarcation between State & Religion

Image
By GABRIEL RAMOI The sacrilege committed by Theo Zurenouc  in destroying work of Art by PNG Master Carvers  displayed in Parliament is akin to Pope Fransis ordering the destruction of the  work of Art by Michael Angelo in the Sistine Chapel. The idea that by removing this works of Art , Parliament  and the Body Politics of PNG will be cleansed  from  Dark  Pagan  Forces  associated with this body of Art Work is a misguided attack  on our  aesthetic past that has helped define us as a people.  The sacrilege to parliament is  based on the interpretation  of the  Christian Covenant  in the new testament bible  with the Semitic  God of the old testament Bible and  that there can be no worship of  idols  but that of the  one true God Yahweh . That this  idea forms the Fundamental Philosophical and moral basis upon which Modern PNG is constructed upon and must be held on to the exclusion of any other belief system to give meaning and Christian purpose to our Modern Government is e

Papua New Guinea’s Sir Nagora Bogan will determine outcome of the trial of University of Technology Vice Chancellor Albert Schram

Image
Meet Sir Nagora Bogan, Chancellor of the PNG University of Technology (Lae) and head of the UniTech governing council. We have investigated Sir Nagora.  He has a respectful record of service as a former ambassador to the USA and serves on the boards of many PNG institutions, often as chairman.   Having lived abroad for years, Sir Nagora seems to understand that universities only become national treasures if they are corruption free and compete successfully on the global playing field.   Sir Nagora gives the impression of an ethical man unafraid of taking whatever action is needed to straighten out organisational messes.  His credentials and power automatically make him the captain of TEAM GOOD on the UniTech council. CAPTAIN OF TEAM GOOD:  NAGORA BOGAN OTHER LIKELY TEAM GOOD MEMBERS:   Mr Alan McLay, Dr Ken Ngangan and Mr Joseph Hamylton.   Also voting representatives of the UniTech National Staff Association as well as the Student Representative Council and the Acting VC of UniTech, P

Now we know why Peter O’Neill Appointed David Arore As HERST Minister

By PAUL J PERAKIN In today’s world, a country or a people’s reputation is determined by what the world’s more educated people think.  Such people are widely read, sometimes well travelled, and able to carry on an intelligent conversation on many topics.   The most respected media companies want such people as bureau chiefs and reporters, because smart, educated people are curious enough to investigate and compare extensively before writing about some event happening in the world.  These writers inject the perspective of a well educated mind into whatever they write and if they want something to look foolish, that’s what they do. Already there are plenty of crazy PNG things coming out of crazier beliefs that these reporters can write about.  However, the prize of the year just landed in their inbox.   The prize comes in the form of MP Theo Zurenuoc an obvious cargo cultist who believes that if he gets the symbols right around the parliament building, a magical airplane will descend from

Universities in PNG managed only by the best can survive in the competitive real world.

By PNG FIRST UPNG and Unitech have been falling backwards for many years.  Divine Word passed up these 2 government unis long ago.  The reason is obvious.  DWU president comes from European culture and DWU is run more like a foreign uni.  It doesn’t matter if Father Jan Czuba is a citizen or not. He grew up overseas and manages in a way the rest of the world aspires to. He has a European concept of time and in making decisions that look at long term needs. The way Father Czuba runs Divine Word is the way all PNG unis should be run.  At the moment our two government universities have management system mostly run by nationals. You can see the difference right way both these unis are rundown.  University of Goroka shows better influence than Unitech or UPNG but still far behind DWU.  The corruption at the government universities has created moral problems, rundown infrastructure and bad education for students.  We have a problem with the concept of maintenance in PNG that is mostly absent

Will Papua New Guinea hang this man on 12th December?

By PNGBLOGS   On Thursday, 12th December 2013, the council of the PNG University of Technology will decide the fate of UniTech Vice Chancellor Albert Schram.  At stake is the standard of education UniTech students will be getting in coming.    The Sevua investigation of Schram and resulting report has now attracted the support of Port Moresby’s anti-corruption activists, becoming part of their list of demands aimed at the perpetually misleading government of Peter O’Neill.  The anger deepens and spreads because the UniTech scandal is a case study in the O’Neill government’s blatent tolerance of injustice. It is also another clear example of public servants being paid with our taxes to solve a problem when actually all they do is waste public money by backing off, running away, flip flopping, lying, or pretending as needed, to dodge responsibility.  I have become damn angry reading what has been going on at UniTech because a lot of my pay is deducted to pay idiots like them and the mone

The low Kina , Dutch Disease and Agriculture as Antidote.

Image
By GABRIEL RAMOI As PNG stands poised in entering the exclusive club of Gas Exporting Nations in 2014 we are beginning to see early symptoms s of  the debilitating effect of Dutch Disease on the economy with farmers in Hela given  up on Producing local Food for daily consumption and opting instead to buy imported tinned  food in Trade stores  using the over K1 Billion of the so call seed capital made available to land owners to placate them into allowing the establishment of the  First LNG Project in PNG and now with the free fall of the Kina  directly linked  to the slowdown to the construction phase  of the LNG project as it nears completion compounded with  a  over anxious Treasurer  keen on spending  ahead of the much anticipated receipt for the sale of its gas by running two deficit budget in a row. The  antidote to the fall of the Kina and the Dutch disease  lies in revamping Agriculture for both the Export market and the domestic economy. Export of Agriculture products wins hard
