Government House. A planned swearing-in of the court-restored Government of Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare, failed to eventuate this afternoon, because the O'Neill/Namah Government shortcut their planned move. The media was advised earlier today, that the swearing in was to take place at half past two this afternoon, not knowing that the O'Neill/Namah camp had already received the message.

The O'Neill camp, then proceeded to Government House at Konedobu and bulldozed past heavy police presence, but only to be denied entry at the gate.Government House officials have revealed to Mr. O'Neil's group, that Nuku MP, Andrew Kumbakor, and National Alliance Party Officials, Paul Bengo and Joyce Grant, were already in audience with Sir Michael Ogio, at his Government House residence.

This revelation caused an uproar by the O'Neil group outside the gate. MPs screamed and shouted in protest that the three be removed promptly and allow Mr. O'Neil to have an audience with the Governor General. Mr. O'Neil was finally allowed entry to to go in and have an audience with the Governor General. More than 70 MPs of the O'Neil camp and dozens of heavily armed police officers are still manning the gates into the Government House.
