PNGBlogs
After this morning's lose to Samoa, PNG will finish last in their group with ZERO WINS, despite being a nation reognised for playing League PNG will be outranked in the next International Ranking to come out after the World Cup to be outside the top 10 League Playing Nations,  Attention should now be put to the people who have put together this team, a National team that has no National in the management, a management hierarchy made up of desperate expatriates who are only in it for the money, we have been robbed PNG, robbed because we don't believe in ourselves and look up to people who we think have all the answers. We have been playing this game for over 50 years and yet we have not achieved anything in the international stage, it is a shame, all the money that should have been put to proper use by these organisations and the government has been botched by a few greedy people.

For the first time in the history of rugby league in the country, current PNG Kumuls will have received a large sum of money which has never been done before but is now given by Government’s corporate business arms. So far, Governments’ registered entity like National Gaming Control Board (NGCB), Air Niugini have already confirmed sponsoring the Kumuls in a total of K3.5 Million. NGCB gave K2 million while Air Niugini sponsored a K1.5 million package.

It is believed PNG LNG Ltd has also given their support which is believed to be more than K2million. The figures were not announced during the official sponsorship deal this year. This paper also understands that PNG Power will come on board with another K1.5 million to beef up the Kumuls campaign. Insiders from the PNG Power confirmed that they were still in discussion of giving team Kumuls K1.5 million for this year. However the sponsorship could go for another five term deal like the other sponsors that have come on board. But that will depend on both parties agreeing to its proposed plans and marketing aspects of the PNG Power.

The source said they were confused because Team Kumuls was a registered entity (Business) and their support was for sports and not business. Whatever it is, all of these funds given to Team Kumuls will be managed by the a company called ‘Team Kumuls Ltd’- a registered company in which current Minister for Sports and Pacific Games Justin Tkatchenko is the sole shareholder. It was also found out that the minister is also the share holder of another company called PNG Rugby League Foundation Ltd according to the company’s registry at the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA).

This has prompted a potential sponsor PNG Power to air their views on how well their K1.5 Million sponsorship deal with Team Kumuls would go under. Tkatchenko is the sole shareholder of two companies associated with the sport of rugby league namely “Team Kumuls Ltd” and “PNG Rugby League Foundation Ltd” according to the company registry at the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA). A recent company search at the IPA revealed that Team Kumuls Ltd was registered on 29th ofJanuary, 2013 with company number “1-86844” while PNG Rugby League Foundation Ltd was registered on 14th July, 2009 with company number “1-68698”. Tkatchenko became the sole shareholder of PNG Rugby League Foundation Ltd on 7th February 2013 while previous shareholders and directors discontinued their involvement on different dates between November 2009 and August 2012.

Former shareholders and directors of PNG Rugby League Foundation Ltd were Papua New Guineans named Philemon Embel, Benais Sabumei and Frank Michael Kramer. Two Australians Paul Broughton and Malcolm Norman Meninga were also former directors of PNG Rugby League Foundation Ltd. The IPA records also show that the existing directors of PNG Rugby League Foundation Ltd are Papua New Guineans Tkatchenko, Embel, Powes Parkop and Larry Andagali and New Zealander, Graham Osborne while the company secretary is an Australian named Bradley Shane Tassell. The IPA records show that “Team Kumuls Ltd” has three directors namely Tkatchenko, a New Zealander named Graham Osborne and an Australian named Don Fox while another Australian, Bradley Shane Tassell is the company secretary.

Team Kumuls Ltd’s “principal place of business” is Suite G2 & G3m Holiday Inn, Waigani, National Capital District, PNG and its postal address is PO Box 1845, Boroko, NCD, PNG.
The “principal place of business” for PNG Rugby League Foundation Ltd is Section 427 Allotment 4, Suite 2 & 3, Hohola, NCD, PNG and its postal address is PO Box 1845, Boroko, NCD, PNG. Meanwhile, the IPA records show that the secretary for both companies, Bradley Shane Tassell’s “residential address” is also in Holiday Inn.
