Acting VC Pumwa Finally Steps Down

Pumwa Finally resigns as a/VC
Sources at Unitech confirm that Acting VC John Pumwa has resigned from his position.
The action occurred during last Friday's inaugural Council meeting on the Unitech campus, under the leadership of Chancellor Nagora Bogan.  Dr Pumwa offered his resignation at that time and it was accepted.   There has been talk amongst the interim council of removing the Acting VC but he ended up going quietly.
The Unitech Pro-Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Prof M.A. Satter, was appointed in his place until which time as Dr Albert Schram arrives at Unitech to resume his post.
Since the beginning of the year, the Pumwa administration has been characterised by upheaval and various allegations.  Initial allegations charged the administration with delay tactics and lack of leadership in forcing government to move on the return of Schram.   More recently, allegations have surfaced that accuse members within and outside of the administration with mismanagement, particularly with respect to overseas trips as well as possible unethical business deals involving Unitech contracts.
Apart from Pumwa, most complaints about the university's executive managers have concerned Pro-Vice Chancellor Macquin Maino.  The overriding concern seems to be around leadership and conscience issues, with accusations that he was part of a high level conspiracy to work for the permanent appointment of Prof Pumwa as Vice Chancellor in place of Schram.
Because of these recent allegations, the new Council of Sir Nagora Bogan is strongly urged to add an investigation of the Unitech Saga to that of specific investigations advised by the Sevua report.  The purpose of this added investigation would be broad.   One area of investigation would be to get to the bottom of what has happened at Unitech during the Misty Baloiloi administration.  This would include deeper exploration and expansion of issues that were included in the recently released Sengi report.
The second major of investigation would delve the endless delays in actioning the Sevua report and bringing back Vice Chancellor Schram since the expulsion of Schram, and general activities that took place under the Pumwa administration.   Included would be the roles played by OHE Director General David Kavanamur, former HERST Minister David Arore, and government advisor and former Unitech VC Misty Baloiloi, as well as activities within and above the Office of Migration that resulted in Dr Schram’s entry into PNG being blocked twice.
The investigation should go as high as the Prime Minister, if necessary.
As a side note, it appears that the Bogan Council is in no hurry to release the contents of the Sevua report to the public.  The continued secrecy of Sevua Report contents has allowed former Chancellor Saulep to selectively leak information from the report to put others in a bad light.
In the interest of fairness, it is time that we all get to see what the Sevua report says about Ralph Saulep and Philip Stagg.
Some parts of the Sevua report have already been leaked and in the name of fairness and justice to Dr Schram, we implore the rest of the report to be made public by those who have access to it.
