A Call to NGI MPs in the Executive Government to make their stand

By Graham Tenaen Robinson

The New Guinea Island MPs within the Government caucus must come out and clearly explain to their people why they support the actions of their leader, who continues to avoid and temper with the rule of law.

NGI MPs must stand together and be counted for what is right for our country. If you disagree then make a bold stand and distance yourselves from a very bad and dangerous precedence that has already been set by the political head of this country. If he is not guilty, then the very systems enacted to protect us will decides and not his statement.

We are taught to respect the rule of law and be accounted for our actions when we break the law as taught, because it impresses values to our children we must uphold.

The current trend clearly impresses the notion to question the rule of law despite a pending investigation,
he claims to tempered with politically. He has stated beyond reasonable doubt that he is not guilty. And if so why is he running back to the courts to prevent him from being questioned.

If you think your leader has been framed then let him clear his name as he claims through this simple process where no man born in this country is immune to.

We are all subject to the rule of law whether we are guilty or not.

The rule of law defines a fundamental process that maintains the balance in our everyday lives.

May I remind all NGI MPs that your people are closely observing your standing and conviction, whether you are leaders, or only mere followers.

Your role in respecting the rule of law must bear witness to our region that no one is above the law with your standing.

You have accepted the fate of your colleague MP who is currently serving time in prison for breaking the law.

Yet you still support someone who can question, give witness and accord to himself judgement only the courts decide.

Please be reminded that your stand to be counted rests on your shoulders and not him.

You are rest assured the support of your the very people who voted you deserve your day. You cannot be silent on the issue because of your portfolios, DSIP grants and other privileges as caucus MPs within the Executive Government.

A true leader must practice humility and lead by example, and if he fails to adhere to a rule of law, then you have a moral obligation to make that unpopular stand and set a legacy for all our children and their children in the islands.

We were taught to observe the rule of law and impart values to our children to be unbiased when differentiating 'right' from 'wrong.'

Thank you and God Bless !
