Let UPNG SRC president (Mr.Bobby Yupi) complete his term

I would like to air my consent that the University of Papua New Guinea students to respect the leadership of UPNG SRC president and complete his term. He is the leader mediated by the 5000 plus student population to represent them and not anybody else. He will always make the decision in the best interest of UPNG.
I knew Mr. Yupi when he was the President of Hela Student Association last year 2013. He was the vocal student leader in the 2013 SRC committee and addressed both internal and external issues of the country logically. He is a man of integrity and can’t tolerate corrupt practice. He makes his stands to oppose corrupt practices. I supported him in SRC elections not because he my brother but he have leadership skills and integrity to serve other people’s interest. We stood together when I was the president of Southern Highlands Student Union to go against some of the decisions made by O’Niell-Dion Government Likes Manus Asylum seekers, Death Penalty laws and he even organize the forum to address 3billion UBS. We were at the fore front during the protest and carrying petitions to the Parliament Area and vocal at the forum.
What is it so hard for him to address Paraka case at the UPNG forum?
The UPNG SRC president is in the better position to address the issue on 7.8million Legal bill to Paraka Lawyer without fear or favor despite of His country man been the prime minister. However, he is in charge of the welfare of the 5000plus students and cannot jeopardize there education when the case is before the police investigation and court. I believe some of the individual with political motives/ outside influences (by Politicians and NGO) have manipulated student leaders to use the University students to serve their own interest. I think he has been so silent about the issue and taking different approached in line with his election policies to vote of referendum before going for protest.
The several calls by the NGO activist Noel Anjo and his rival presidential candidates and fellow student’s leaders with outside influences for president to step down is nonsense. The president as a leader will not corporate with such opportunists to accept there call to organize protest when things are not right. He knows the right timing when the time is strikes. The UPNG students are intellectuals and must have analyzed the situation and ready to resume classes and peruse their dreams for another remaining 12 weeks.
Why did fight irrupted between SHP and Hela vs UPNG?
The people of PNG and UPNG students must understand that UPNG Hela and SHP are not protecting the Peter O’Niell as their country man who is the PM. PM don’t feed or pay their school fee! Why would they sacrifice there life for him? The fight irrupted when whole school personalize and insulted Mr. President at the forum square several times. The Hela and SHP students backed their leader at all cost without letting him alone. He made this clear to the nation on The National Newspaper, Monday, 14th-July, 2014, pg5.
The president is consent citizen of this nation representing poor and illiterate people back in the village and he can address issues in professional but due to pressures and influences he have come to this stage. He knows his job and he will try his best to protect the interest of the student. That is, every one of the student must graduate with the flying colors to impress your sponsors and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.
Note: University students and PNG, all politicians are corrupt and there are now the millionaires and got enough wealth……we may protest/strike to remove the Government but the next PM will be much corrupt than Peter O’Niell, you don’t know the future.
