TRIBUTE TO ANOTHER GREAT JUDGE OF THE HIGH COURTS OF PNG

TRIBUTE TO ANOTHER GREAT JUDGE OF THE HIGH COURTS OF PNG. Another sad day for PNG, it just lost today another High Court Judge; late justice Mark Sevua, in his native home village, and province today Tuesday (2/8/14). Arrangements are being made to accord the late Judge the dignity and respect he well deserved as the most senior judge of the National and Supreme Courts of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. Judge Sevua's last press release to PNGBlogs is here.

It was the convoy of vehicles down Lorengau town in Manus that got the attention of locals. As it headed straight for the hospital, passersby became curious so some followed.Right now that island province is in shock after learning of the sudden passing of one of the most senior and respected sons, Justice Mark Sevua.Shocked relatives have started arriving at the home of a relative where his body now lays while word spreads to his loved ones, colleagues and friends.JusticeSevua and his wife arrived at Lou Island last week to attend the funeral of anin-law.One relative said he may have died of suspected stroke while trying to bath at sea.PNG LOOP understands Justice Sevua has had health issues for a while. The late Justice Sevua clocked 34 years of legal and judicial services as a lawyer and a Judge. He worked for 16 years in government and private legal services and 18 years as a Senior Supreme Court Judge.

PNGBlogs convey our deepest symphaties and condolences to the immediate families of the late(retired)Justice Mark Sevua CBE,MStj on the loss of someone so dearest....MANUS has lost "the GREAT WHITE SHARK" of the legal fratenity and PNG has lost a shining advocate of justice!!!!!!LAPAN-WE SHALL ALWAYS REMEMBER....MAY YOU REST IN ETERNAL PEACE IN OUR CREATOR‘S EMBRACE.
