SENIOR POLICE INVESTIGATOR AND FAMILY THREATENED

A senior police investigator and his family were attacked last night. Patrick Premenga is part of the investigating team tasked to affect the arrest of Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.

However, policemen alleged to be associated with the Prime Minister retaliated by mobilising and attacked the investigator and his family.

The incident happened under cover of darkness last night. Heavily-armed policemen surrounded the premises and held Patrick Premenga and his family under house arrest.

They demanded for Premenga to not serve them with contempt charges.

Mr Premenga said the incident has affected him and his family. The neighbours were also traumatised but too scared to recall what had transpired.

Mr Premenga is appealing to the police hierarchy to maintain control and command following the incident.

He also wants the Prime Minister to be aware of what is happening amongst members of the disciplined force.

In recent times, police have used excessive force against the public, one such case being Francis Essy, a lecturer at UPNG. He was brutally attacked by rogue policemen but survived to tell his story. So far, five policemen have been suspended.

However, Francis’s personal belongings are yet to be returned to him. He has also appealed for control and command in the police force.
