Call on Christian Ministers and Members of Parliament must Consider Allegiances with Wickedly Corrupt Government of Peter O’Steal.

By SAUWAN KOMPE

The call is placed on all serving Christian members and ministers in this term of Parliament rallying behind wickedly corrupt O’Steal regime to seriously consider relinquishing or would be otherwise envisaged as caught in the web of O’Steal’s corruption.

The prominent names that come to the fore are; James Marape (Tari-Pori), John Pundari (Kompiam-Ambum), Bire Kimisopa (Goroka), Benny Allan (Hunggai-Bena), Ben Micah (Kevieng), Richard Maru (Yangoru-Sausia), Delilah Gore (Sohe), Jimmy Miringtoro (Bougainville), Nick Kuman (Gumini), etcetera. This current crop of so called leaders of Christian (known) faith should fight corruption tooth and nail; however, instead, knowingly backing a wickedly corrupt regime is a conscious choice participating in the web of O’Steal corruption. The theology of “come out of her my people and do not be part takers of her sin” supposedly serves as a reminder but sad to envisage the opposite is true. Continued steadfast in indulgence by way of propping a wickedly corrupt government, is a demonstration of taking informed position underpinning stability in corruption by bunch of educated fools and recycled corrupt politicians.

They should be the beacon of light shunning evil on the face of it. Can’t afford to compromise the biblical principles that have become basis of character building. The society across the spectrum anticipated somewhat display of moral ethics combining with Christian values but want of materialism (money) for short term gain apparently has twofold implications; 1) impaired the judgment and 2), state of moral blindness to say the least.

A person with wisdom is prepared to denounce evil for the virtues of truthfulness, honesty and noble character and being able to distinguish right from wrong and disassociate in all form of evil as the needle is to the pole. Intellectual knowledge does not equate to wisdom in case one contemplating gaining knowledge from school of learning is wisdom. Wisdom is divine intervention for goodness of man by God and God alone. Proverbs 4: 27 I quote; “do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil for the (vs 18) path of just is like the shining sun that shines even brighter unto the perfect day”. The better way to shine like sun even brighter, detests all form of evil in fear of God.
The world’s renown wises man that ever lived in the ancient past namely King Solomon has categorically said on numerous occasions across the pages in the wisdom book of Proverbs that words of wisdom should be worn around the neck like a neck less so that it becomes a constant reminder to navigate life in the right pathway. The impartation of words of wisdom can be in varied forms. It can be a literature (written), audible (spoken), visible (pictorial) and etcetera. The reliability of the biblical accounts have stood the test of time in the generations past and is the only sure word to be trusted because, in so far as the Christendom is concerned, words of wisdom in the literature form (bible) is the benchmark setting the standard for humanity governing human behaviour and norm of life.

However, when word of wisdom is not taken heed, what is left is nothing people pursue down the path of the six things the Lord hates , yes, seven are an abomination, (1) a proud look, (2) lying tongue, (3) hands that shed innocent blood, (4) heart that devices evil plans, (5) feet that is swift to run to evil, (6) false witness who speaks lies, and (7) one shows discord amongst brethren (Proverbs 6: 16-19). What the verses imply is an explicit description of typical nature of wicked man in making like PM Peter O’Steal including those within the inner circle of influence. Those continue to indulge in the evil act have no feeling of remorsefulness but serving their carnal nature. To act honourably in a dignified manner for decent members of Parliament is not to unequally yoke with wicked man at the helm of the government.

This article is intended for members of Parliament mentioned above; however, in the same wavelength, it is extended to members in other faiths. Wisdom calls for nothing less, nothing more than acknowledgement; obediently trusting in totality the source of the origin of life. Giving or doing much furthering God’s course will not impress God at all. Nor will it compensate for intimate relationship with the divinity. It must be borne that man can’t serve God and Mammon simultaneously. Should one wants to serve power, politics and money, than denounce religious affiliation and identify yourselves as full pledged tax collector so to enjoy the carnal behaviour at will.

Living a life of pretension is dangerous and an ideal analogy is putting on the MASK concealing real you. The carnal personality remains very much the same but masking imparts an impression only. As the saying goes, “Water Always Finds its Level” and when it does, the operation of carnal nature under the mask when exposed shall be known.

The term steal is engrained in PM Peter O’Steal’s personality. Indulging in stealing formed part of his carnal personality and has become his second nature. Records speak volume of combining Peter O’Neil and Jimmy Maladina, a vicious recipe defrauding NPF then. Vivid recollection of what transpired with hard earned savings of PNGeans is fresh as it was. Peter O’Steal may say he is cleared by courts and endeavour to water it down but his record stealing all time stands against him. The notorious fair has made a comeback to form a formidable team, one as Prime Minster and the other legal consultant. Apparently it is evident with the scale of corruption at unprecedented level in the short political history of Papua New Guinea. No wonder PNG is rated 145 out of 175 most corrupt country according to the measure of international corruption perception index (CPI) by Transparency International 2014. (http://www.transparency.org/cpi2014/).

The challenge is on all above (named) and those of other faiths who are God fearing to denounce allegiance to the corrupt regime and be counted as Daniel and Daniela of modern day Babylon or Joseph and Josepha of modern day Egypt. The world renowned neurosurgeon namely Dr. Ben Carson once said in reference to Joseph, “IF I BE THE SLAVE, I’LL BE THE BEST SLAVE THERE IS. IF I BE THE PRISONER, I’LL BE THE BEST PRISONER THERE IS”. Be counted and stand tall in a government that is riddled with high level corruption. Be the best MP, be the best back bencher and be the best opposition.
