EMERGING STORY OF UNITECH SRC PRESIDENT DAVID KELMA'S INITIAL CORRUPTION IN CREATING THE UNITECH DEBACLE:

NIUGINI OUTLOOK

Now that the Unitech SRC is in disarray and discredited from several sides, the Facebook site is no longer being censored by the moderators as had been the case when the boycott first started and any negative comments against Kelma were quickly removed and repeat offenders were banned. As a result, we are seeing a broader range of comments and no attempt anymore at giving automatic respect for anyone.

This Niugini Outllook reproduces the posting by 'Maniboi Nuncio' on the Unitech Facebook site. Following that copied and pasted posting, we provide a commentary asking why, during all this time, David Kelma or other SHP leaders still have not come forward with their version of what happened.

Well done the SRC President David Kelma for the best planning and well executed plan carried out regarding the boycotting at UNITECH to fight against the PO regimes. The result is no surprise to the Instigators of the plan.

Forum led by SRC President on day one showed that the SRC was fully behind the students body to fight for the country. However, there was no momentum on the fight the following day and onwards.

The SRC well planned for the boycotting to fail and students to return to classes. Because PM was aware of the outcome of the boycotting results of the UNITECH that it would fail prior to the incident at UPNG. PM ordered the police to shoot the UPNG students via PNGRC Commissioner, thinking it would not cause any reaction from the other universities instead the fight gained momentum in all the universities in country.

On Friday, the UNITECH SRC President tried to make himself innocent that he was not attached to the plan (fail boycotting) on day one with the top people to make himself clean, knowing the next course of action was to make students return to classes on Tuesday (Monday - Public Holiday). But the plan (to fail the boycotting) would be impossible without the support of some students so cleverly President knew students from other provinces wouldn't be willing to help out in the plan. Instead he instructed some Southern Highlands students to equip themselves with weapons to defend the SRC President if the whole students disagree with the plan to call off boycotting and return to class.

On Monday (13 June 2016), at the forum the SRC president officially announced that the boycotting is over and students are expected to resume classes the next day (Tuesday).

Unexpectedly, students body disagreed with the decision made by the SRC president which provoked the armed southern Highlands students to openly show their stands against the entire UNITECH students body that resulted in a student being chopped with bush knife by the Southern Highlands Students and hospitalized.

Fortunately, the friends and group of the injured students didn't retaliate but pursued on to fight the big issue.

[About 3 days later] the Enga Students, the group of the victim made a clear statement in the Councils room in the presence of the VC Dr Albert Schram, two Pro VCs, SRC President, Southern Highlands leaders and provincial groups leaders that there won't be a retaliation or accepting of compensation upon conditions that the boycotting will continue because the victim was injured in the issue of the country and that's not between two provincial groups' issues but the victim is in the same basket as the victims of the UPNG shooting. But if the boycotting was to cease and return to classes, then the opposite will be likely the outcome.

That was the conditions that sounded loud and clear on everyone's hears.

The resolution of the meeting was not to accept a compensation.

The Administration and the SRC overlooked the conditions and went on to do a plan totally contradicted the students body to ceased boycotting and return to classes.

Consequently, the Southern Highlands students traveled home to ask for contributions for the compensation and returning on the way they all got drunk. Came into the campus drunk and instigated the the incident verbally.

Sadly, the person who was involved in the earlier incident of chopping the Enga student was murdered.

Any crime is crime in nature but the most important is its primary cause what really triggers the crime at the very first day.

People who need to be questioned are SRC 2016 executives, other 20 provincial groups leaders and university administration and staffs. They will have the keys to unlock the authentic files hidden behind the closed doors of the 8 weeks of boycotting in UNITECH. They are the daily eye witnesses who were there anpd they will Reveal the Truth.

NIUGINI OUTLOOK COMMENTARY: The above posting is certainly from an Engan. It reveals important new information that suggests that there was never a deal by any of the students other than the SRC and the administration for students to return to class.

This ignores a reality. Rules and commands only work when there is overall respect for that rule or command. If most people do not respect the order, then the order or rule becomes frequenlty violated and unstable. People only uphold those laws that they respect. It is now unclear whether the meeting that took place between students and administrators the day before the deadly Engan attack on the students and facilities, where students were urged to go back to class, actually came out of any kind of consensus, even within the SRC amongst all its provincial leaders. It continues to appear that the Unitech administration, under pressure from Peter O'Neill's secretary Isaac Lupari, pushed students to go to class only with what seems to have already been a discredited SRC their main ally.

Southern Highland students may of course complain that Niugini Outlook has published another one sided story. What these SHP students fail to step back and see with their own eyes is that Niugini Outlook, starting with a dialogue with David Kelma, and ccontinuing to the present day has welcomed and invited David Kelma and the SHP Student Association to prove that the allegations that they were paid off by SHP politicians before and during the boycott could not be possibly true, particularly explaining the sudden large amount of money that Southern Highlands students suddenly came to be in possession of and drank up in late May or early June.

There been not even one report sent to us to provide a Southern Highlands student perspective. We are continually berated by SHP students that our account is wrong, yet they offer no alternative explanation.

We have also invited and welcomed Southern Highlands students in particular to come forth with their detailed version of what happened during the 13 June fight at the end of the forum on Queens Birthday. Again, a number of Unitech SHP students have come onto Niugini Outlook to say that we're telling only lies. Yet not one report has arrived in our in box that provides an alternative explanation, in detail, regarding that fight.

The only reason why the "Engan side of the story" has been called that, is because it has been labeled as such by the Southern Highlanders. However, the lack of any alternative account leads us to one of 2 conclusions. Either SRC President David Kelma and his SHP student supporters are largely illiterate and unable to write a detailed account of these events, or the prevailing account of events is largely accurate, with some small details possibly still in dispute and remaining to be filled in.

We don't believe that Kelma and company are illiterate. We believe that the above account, which closely fits into the reports we have been getting all along, collectively provide the most accurate account available thus far on what started the Unitech crisis and made it eventually blow up in a tragic way.
