THE PEOPLE OF PNG MAY FORGET AND FORGIVE MASSIVE CORRUPTION BY OUR LEADERS BUT WE'RE NOT GOING TO JOIN THAT PARADE AT NIUGINI OUTLOOK: It has now been a month since Michael Somare promised that after consulting his lawyers, he might have further statement to make to the people of PNG as to why he had a secret Singapore account (confirmed with evidence in a Singapore court) that was still holding an astounding amount of money (for a public servant who testified at his 2011 Leadership Tribunal that the only money he earned was from his public servant's salary) - namely over K900,000 (confirmed with evidence in a Singapore court) out of over K2 million deposited into that account (confirmed with evidence in a Singapore court) by Lim Ai Wah, the Singaporean wife of Philip Doehrman, an American who Michael Somare appointed to head, together with his son Michael Somare Jr, a PNG government trust account containing K156 million that was earmarked to build community colleges. The Singaporean Court confirmed to their satisfaction that the over K2 million deposited by Lim Ai Wah into Michael Somare's private personal Singapore account was part of over K9 million in kickback money paid into the account of a shelf company set up by Lim Ai Wah by the regional manager of ZTE Communications. That kickback money was part of a K100 million contract awarded from the trust account which Lim Ai Wah's husband (Philip Doehrman) and Michael Somare Junior headed.
The Singapore Court had evidence that nothing was provided by the K9 million. Instead, it was paid in response to a fake invoice drawn up by Lim Ai Wah's sister and submitted to ZTE. ZTE's regional manager made sure the fake invoice was paid, and the Singapore Court established without reasonable doubt that once the K9 million was received, it was split up between Lim Ai Wah and Philip Doerhman, the ZTE regional manager, and Michael Somare's private Singapore account. This was all confirmed without a doubt by a paper trail of evidence submitted to the Singapore Court.
That Michael Somare has lied to the PNG people is without question. The question is whether he is going to continue lying to the PNG people to protect his rapidly deteriorating reputation or whether he will be true to God and confess his sins against the people of PNG by either stealing public funds directly, or by covering up corruption by his son Michael Somare Junior. Of course Michael Somare and Michael Somare Junior will be judged by God ultimately and that's not the point. The point is that one or both have stolen from public funds and tricked the PNG people into believing that he was honest.
In a moral sense, Michael Somare owed the people of PNG a full and truthful explanation of his sins. He was not forthcoming when this story broke. Instead, he said he would have to consult his lawyers, which is a classic reaction of people who are trying to come up with wording for an explanation that makes it seem like they didn't do anything wrong until you wisely start reading between the lines.
By the grace of God it is time that Michael Somare tell the truth to the people of PNG how over K2 million in kickback money originally coming from PNG public funds ended up in his private Singapore bank account as the Singaporean Court established to its satisfaction.

The court ruled that MRDC's appeal was an "abuse of process" and ordered the company to pay costs of the proceedings. MRDC, a unit holder in PBF, had taken legal action against the National Court's decision to dismiss its case, arguing that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter.
