CAN WE TRUST THE PRIME MINISTER AND HIS MINISTER RICHARD MARU?

By JOHN ENDEMONGO KUA Last week both Peter Oneil and Richard Maru scampered out out of a chopper soaked in urine after an over view of the fertile Sepik plains where they are scheming a grand oil palm project which will require a capital input of K100 million to lay down the infrastructure and other establishment costs in partnership with Wilmar International a leading agro industry corporation specialing in palm oil and other seed oil products. From the outset it looks promising for the local landowners and the people of East Sepik and the nation to actually undertake a major agriculture project that will roll out spin off benefits through employment and related industries which will create wealth and earn us the much needed export dollar needed to strengthen our economy and social welfare. However the shady part of the project is the lack of transparency and misinformation by the proponent of the project and the governments media unit that have failed to present the facts of the proj

Thank God We Have Peter O’Neill To Force Us To Create An Underground Movement Against Corruption In Papua New Guinea

By: I Have Gone Anonymous Truth hurts and is painful to tell. Those who speak without showing a face are the most likely to speak the truth.  PNG needs to hear all painful truths about the O’Neill government. We need to be clearabout how bad things have gotten in our country especially the rural areas.  We are being deceived into thinking there is progress.  What this progress consists of is a few people getting very rich while most of us become poor and rural areas become utterly impoverished. PNG is at a crisis point after years of growing corruption.   We have a government with no effective opposition.    Such is the situation of dictators and the O’Neill government is an informal dictatorship.    Dictator O’Neill is supported by over 100 self serving, corrupt sleazy MPs who put on honest looking faces and speak sincere sounding words, with their brains full of thoughts of how they can increase their personal power, prestige and wealth.   Very few of our MPs actually give a royal sh

LR Groups plans to take over PNG Power

PNGBlogs More on LR Group that may be helpful. see the attachments. Note that in the JV Offer for execution, LR wanted to own all PPL assets, starting with at least 50% of the Special Purpose Vehicle to be created to hold PPL assets and will operate and manage them. Its A take-over of PPL by stealth, and that will be what they still want. Secondly, LR did a report for IPBC in 2011, which analysed the power problems in POM and proposed an investment plan. At no point was it suggested that the solution was new diesel turbines, because everyone knows that they are not cost effective and don't address the core challenges of providing cheap reliable base load from hydro and getting power from turbines to customers without losing too much on the way. The focus was therefore on remedial action to fix up hydro power at Rouna, putting in place a proper maintenance program for generation assets, sorting out the transmission lines and reducing technical losses. Over the longer term the focus

By KOI KOI DIKADAKA Ok I got home last night and headed straigh to the"patapata" under the Okari Tree and stretched out on the wooden planks, closed my eyes for a bit and enjoyed the cool evening wind brushing gently against my face. It was a welcoming rest after slaving 11 hours for a Chinese merchant for meager earinings. I was glad to be home around familiar surroundings and the two women in my life. Hearing their voices in the background was absolutely heavenly. That patapata and those wooden planks felt like soft cushioned silky linens on a Kingsize waterbed in a five star luxury hotel master suit. I felt like a king. It is around 7.30pm and I could hear the dogs barking, but ignored them completely thinking that the bitches were only on a heat and were barking at potential suitors. Instead I heard the rattle on the gate, and heard familiar voice of Milo Bytow, ringing out calling my name. I had completely forgetten that we had made plans previously to meet and talk abou
