ANALYSIS ON OVERSPENDING EFFECT BY O'NEILL GOVT 2014 DEFICIT BUDGET ON PNG'S STATE OF THE ECONOMY

Image
HOT AIR?  BY SAM BASIL MP To the citizens of Papua New Guinea (PNG), before the 2015 Budget is announced, you would’ve been following several statements I released about the 2013 Budget, the 2014 Budget and its negative impact to PNG’s current state of economy. My commentary has provided visible evidence, further supported by intellects and reputable citizens in their long-standing positions within each industry, on the financial mismanagement of the economy by the current O’Neill-led government. The statements I delivered, on O’Neill’s running of the economy, was only to ensure that the Opposition gave alternatives to ensure we get best economic outcomes for our country and all citizens. This has fallen on deaf ears and eyes as PNG further moves to an economy on the brink of “meltdown” as the next budget will be far higher than the last two Budget deficits with no avenue to repay; the O’Neill-led government is to blame for this situation we, as a country, are facing financially

JOHN PASKA, MOUTH PIECE FOR PNG WORKERS OR PETER O'NEILL???

Image
By BRYAN KRAMER In recent times it has been interesting to read article after article by General Secretary of PNG Trade Union John Paska defending the allegations against Prime Minister Peter O'Neill. His recent statement in the press Mr Paska said "let the due process takes its course, that the public had also been misled to believe that an arrest of the PM if executed constituted guilt on the Prime Minister’s part. "This is not the case, the much talked about arrest is an arrest which merely satisfies standard police procedures" he said. This view by Mr. Paska is misconceived after the Supreme Court ruled a warrant of arrest is equivalent to a court order. So it seems it also satisfied the procedures of the Court confirming a prima facie case (sufficient evidence) against the Prime Minister to presume he may be guilty of the offence. What about respecting the rule of law and letting the arrest takes its course" Such pubic statements by a General Secr

IJIVITARI MP, DAVID ARORE DEFAMES JUSTICE KANDAKASI ON FACEBOOK

Image
By DAVID ARORE MP Ijivitari MP, David Arore, has publicly defamed national court judge, Justice Ambeng Kandakasi on Facebook accusing him of corruption, partiality and an unhealthy alliance with Oro Governor, Gary Juffa prior to yesterday’s court decision. In multiple posts on the social network, David Arore, used his personal account to post photographs that purport to show a meeting between Justice Kandakasi and Governor Juffa prior to yesterday’s decision which awarded a stay order in favor of Juffa. On the initial post yesterday, the ijiviari MP wrote: “…Photo’s of judge Kandakasi and Gary Juffa before hearing of Oro Prov. Vote of no confidence case…Where is justice?” Arore also questioned Justice Kandakasi’s credibility as a judge and accused him of allowing his personal relationship to influence his decision. In another one of the posts Arore wrote: “…Arore demands new judge in Oro vote of no confidence case after Justice Kandakasi is seen here wining and dining with Gary Juffa

Port Moresby’s housing crisis just got worse – Duran Farm Development rotten to the core

Image
PNGEXPOSED   The National Housing Corporation and the National Housing Estate Limited are two of the most corrupt institutions in the nation. For years they have treated the national housing estate as the private property of senior executives. Public servants from around the country have been made homeless at the behest of NHC head, John Dege, so land and property can be sold off to foreign speculators. So where do public servants go, and where do the nation’s booming number of urban working families go? Never fear, the NHC and NHEL will now be working with the private sector to build low cost housing. In June this year the Prime Minister announced that NHC/NHEL would facilitate the construction of 40,000 houses at Duran farm outside Port Moresby, through offshore financing to the tune of K1.3 billion. Worried yet? The contractor awarded the job do oversee this mammoth development was Niule No 16, a shelf company owned by PNG lawyer Henry Hennry and Australian businessma

Please spread these social media articles more widely

Please spread these social media articles more widely!!!! Corruption grows in PNG because not enough Papua New Guineans actually know what’s going on. Our newspapers won’t print controversial stories because they don’t want to be taken to court by obsolete defamation laws that protect the guilty as much as the innocent. On top of that we have poor penetration into our population of any form of news media. Only about 15% of our population lives in urban areas! Literacy rates are still appalling. It’s easy to ignore all this whenever we’re on social media and see lots of comments posted to a PNG Blogs article or hundreds of ‘likes’. But only a small percentage of our population has money enough to access social media regularly enough to read the articles about corruption. Social media is NOT educating enough PNGans to create the pressure necessary for reform and not enough pressure to frighten the corrupt and thats a fact. YOU can help change all this. Personally commit yourself to do

AIR NIUGINI SALE AND RESTRUCTURE –TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

Image
By JASON S TALI Air Niugini:- From a dysfunctional underperforming SOE to a regional airline company in just under three (3) weeks. Has anyone ever noticed that Air Niugini, the national flag carrier has ballooned in the last three weeks? It’s a success story too good to be true. On 6th September 2014, the Government announced that it would sell 49% of the national flag carrier. In the most recent of times, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and his full time bodyguard bouncer Ben Micah announced the partial sale of Air Niugini. They stated that the opportunity will be given to nationals (nationally owned companies and individuals) to purchase those shares. After one week of that announcement to sell, Air Niugini announced the restructure of the company with the creation of what they now call “Link PNG”. In announcing Link PNG, Fredrick Reiher, the controversial businessman involved in the Public Service Home Ownership Scam and Chairman of Air Niugini, said that “the establishment of Link

MP David “Everything I do is legal” Arore now caught trying to bribe Tufi  LLG President Arore text message shows attempt to bribe Tufi LLG President From the PNG Exposed Blog The only way to fight corruption is through transparency.  Transparency means exposing all wrongdoing and exposing it to the world.  Name and shame is the new name of the game in PNG.   The political tussle in Oro province has taken a new turn with revelations of a text message that shows how one member of Parliament in the center of the vote of no confidence motion plotted  the removal of Oro Governor, Gary Juffa. The text message has been confirmed by Oro’s political insiders to be from Ijivitari MP, David Arore to Tufi Local Level Government President, Jeff Taua. The text message read: “Bro no money today. M a bit sick today n m sorry but pls r u on my boat?” The message goes on to promise a bribe of K20,000 as well as an additional K200,000 if the Tufi LLG president, Jeff Taua, sided with him to fo

Shamed By Concerned Citizens From Other Countries

Image
By Reuben Michael Once again (it’s happened before), Papua New Guineans have let citizens of other countries stand up for the rights of all of us.   Sometimes citizens of other countries become concerned enough about our situation in PNG dealing with corruption and being taken advantage of by foreigners that they stand up and protest in their own countries on our behalf. There might be a Papua New Guinean or two in the photo above, which was taken in Malaysia recently, but its mostly Malaysians protesting to support Papua New Guineans.  The full story is on PNG Exposed and also ACT NOW PNG.  They are protesting against a Malaysian company that is trying to land grab in Oro Province, pretending to bring oil palm (which the people of Collingwood Bay don’t want, seeing the social ills and migrant problems it has brought to other parts of Oro Province).   The company’s name is Kuala Lumpur Kepong (KLK). Malaysia is hardly known for protecting the people’s rights to free speech o

Open Letter To Esteemed Radio Personality Roger Hau’ofa:    I Beg You To Upload an Audio Copy of Thursday Morning TalkBack Call By MP David Arore   Now is the time to shine the light of day on the darkness of corruption and incompetence.  Do we dare hope that good people will finally stand up in the name of God, truth, and decency and take action to expose the evilness of our corrupt leaders? By David Lantos Kuiri Dear Mr Roger Hau’ofa, I write this request to you praying and hoping that you or someone at the radio station will stand up and do the right thing to help our country rid ourselves of corrupt leaders.  This is a critical time when things seem to be spinning out of control. My request is in reference to last Thursday when Oro MP David Arore called in and abused you and Oro MP Gary Juffa on national radio talkback programme. Although your show is popular, relatively few Papua New Guineans overall heard the conversation.   Many of us are not allowed to listen t
