Image
by WABAG OBSERVER Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas' defection from his People's Party to join the ruling PNC party in the eleventh -hour has attracted criticisms, wanders and, of course, amazement from the citizens. His move was made during the seven-day nomination period. He made the decision after its party had prepared itself well to contend for the top post this election. It hosted its party convention at his motel Bluff Inn outside Port Moresby. His supporters and fans have flowed with his decision, a something which Ipatas defended as a move to maintain political stability after the election like confirmed by PM O'Neill who said he moved to PNC at his own will. His critics alleged him for being lured with the promise of PSIP and other funds in light of the cashflow crisis. This was not in the best interest of the province where it is known for its integrity and quality leadership in the country. PNG's former Opposition Leader late Sir Tei Abal, late Sir Alb

Sir Mekere asks PM to explain foreign security personnel

Image
SIR MEKERE MORAUTA Former Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta expressed his concern today at social media pictures of heavily armed foreign mercenaries patrolling the streets of Port Moresby. He said it was clear that the public was very concerned about these men. “No-one knows who they are and what they are doing here,” he said. “The absence of any explanation from the Government is only serving to heighten concerns about these foreigners and why they are openly carrying high-powered weapons in public. “There are suggestions that these men are US Armed Forces personnel, and that they are here on APEC security business. Sir Mekere said he been advised that these men are not US SEALs – there are two SEALs on official business in Port Moresby, and they are certainly not driving around town in police vehicles. Nor are they taking part in road blocks and questioning people, he said. Nor are they in the country on APEC security business - the head of the APEC Secretariat, Mr Chris Hawkins

PM CHALLENGED TO OUTLINE POLICY TO ERADICATE CORRUPTION

Image
PRESS RELEASE Former Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta said today he was shocked to hear that more than K1.5 billion was reported as stolen from or by Peter O’Neill’s Government last year. The estimate, by the head of the Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate, Chief Superintendent Matthew Damaru, was a wake-up call for the Prime Minister. “Mr O’Neill has been making a lot of sweet talk about fighting corruption, but corruption has been totally out of control while he has been Prime Minister,” Sir Mekere said. “It appears to have worsened since Mr O’Neill abolished Task Force Sweep after a warrant for his arrest was issued over the Paraka fraud. And his subsequent decision to remove the independence of the Fraud Squad has clearly made matters worse. “If we extrapolate Mr Damaru’s estimate to the entire five years of Mr O’Neill’s Prime Ministership, we are looking at billions of kina that has walked out the door of his government, without leaving any footprints.

PRIVATE SECURITY AGENCY TO RUN RPNGC OPERATIONS?

Image
PNG BLOGS First hand sources have confirmed to PNG Blogs that the sighting of armed expatriate men in Port Moresby are not official US representatives and furthermore the United States Embassy disavows any knowledge of them. They do not have anything to do with the security preparations for the APEC Summit scheduled for next year. PNGBLOGS reported on the makeup of this private security operations last year: Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, his personal adviser Dr Jakob Weiss, Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari and Police Commissioner Gari Baki are involved in a secret plot with LR Group of Israel to create a private intelligence agency and secret paramilitary spy force in Papua Guinea. The four have already handed over some of the nation’s most secret intelligence information to LR Group, which is headed in Papua New Guinea by Weiss’s son Ilan. This includes top-secret internal National Intelligence Organization documents and the methodology whereby all PNG security intelligence oper

PNC MEDIA TEAM CREATE FAKE PNGBLOGS FACEBOOK PAGE TO SMEAR EXPATS

Image
by MICHAEL PASSINGAN PNC operatives have gone low this time by creating a Fake a PNG BLOGS Page, this is the desperation shown by the Napoleon complex driven Prime Minister who is desperate and is willing to do anything under the sun to return as Prime Minister because he has a lot riding on this Election. The Fake Page is now being used to smear expats who have given their time and life to the service of Papua New Guinea. A poorly researched post describes Paul Baker head of the independent think tank Institute of National Affairs as being Australian, which he is not, he is a British citizen who came to PNG in his early 20s and has lived for more than 40+ years in PNG. The Page is well financed as shown here in the accompanying picture, it says: SPONSORED... money well spent on a Fake Page emulating the real PNG BLOGS, we say thank you but where are your links to the website that has been hard hitting PNG Corruption on all fronts since 2009. They do not have any intelligenc

Sir Mekere asks PM to answer questions on public debt and cash flow crises

Image
Former Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta said today the Prime Minister must come clean on Government debt and its cash flows so Papua New Guineans can judge for themselves whether or not the nation is insolvent. “An examination of the 2017 Budget, and publicly available evidence of a cash flow crisis over the past few months, call into question the ability of the O’Neill Government to repay its mountain of debt and pay for its daily operations at the same time,” he said. “Mr O’Neill’s waste, corruption and mismanagement led to a disastrous 2016, and on the information available to me, 2017 is going to be a lot worse. Peter O’Neill is taking the country into bankruptcy. “There is a stark choice facing Mr O’Neill – repay his debts or cut government operations and services even more than in 2016. Either way, he will inflict more pain on Papua New Guineans.” Debt at the end of 2016 was at least K22 billion. This is equivalent to 35 percent of GDP, which Mr O’Neill a
