A criminal running the affairs of Jubilee Institute of Higher Education.

by JIHE STUDENT VOICE Thaddeus Kambanei, a fraudster at the Finance department,  who is heavily implicated in the High profile finance department commission of inquiry is at it again- this time robbing a small church run institution. Students were asked to pay 75% of the full fee of K16000  (the break up is unknown ). Students paid. Their money ran out in April 2017. The fraudster is now telling the students to pay up the remaining 25% even before the first semester is over. He has warned them of cancelling their exams of they don't pay the 25%. A sane person will take the students to 75% of the academic year which is around September.  Only an insane criminal like Thaddeus Kambanei will ask for more without delivering what is due to the students . The Chairman of the Governing Council  Dr Eric Kwa is equally culpable of the theft going on at JIHE . How can he sit back, relax and watch a tainted character like Thaddeus Kambanei run havoc at a higher learning institution?  As we w

LAURENCE AVIATION AND SECURITY FOUNDER PROMOTED PNG CANNIBALISM TO RAISE MONEY IN 1991

by DANIEL KUMBON IN September 1991, while visiting the United States, I refused to meet Pastor Peter Halliman in Cleveland, Ohio, after a damaging article appeared in a major American newspaper. He was with Ekere Embago, an illiterate pastor from Koroba in the Southern Highlands, and they were speaking to church congregations from the east to the west coasts appealing for funds to do more missionary work in the jungles of Papua New Guinea which, they claimed, were still inhabited by missionary eating cannibal tribes. They appeared to be very successful in using the media, calling press conferences in major cities and towns to draw attention to their cause. Many years on, I wonder if Halliman was a soldier or a pastor. Or if he left missionary work to establish the Lawrence Aviation and Security Group, the employer of the six mercenaries who over the last few days have caused so much consternation in Port Moresby. According to Papua New Guinea’s police commissioner Gari Baki,

BAKANI COMPROMISES BANK OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA

PRESS STATEMENT Former Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta said today people and politicians should ignore calls by the Governor of the Bank of Papua New Guinea, Mr Loi Bakani, not to discuss the economy during the election campaign. “This is an outrageous statement,” Sir Mekere said. “We live in a democracy – members of the public and political candidates have every right to question the state of our economy and public finances. “The stagnation of the economy, job losses, the foreign currency shortage, the current cash flow crisis and the monetary situation are legitimate and critical topics for public debate and discussion. “How are we going to get out of the mess created by the O’Neill Government, with Mr Bakani’s willing helping hand, if we do not debate it, identify the causes and come up with solutions? “It is incredible that a Governor of a central bank should get the bank deeply involved in politics. If the Governor is going to say anything during this campaign he sh

EVER WONDER WHY I HAVEN'T BEEN SUED OR ARRESTED OVER MY REPORTING

by BRYAN KRAMER It has been almost four years now since I stumbled across social media. It has provided the reach and influence in fighting corruption that is beyond the average person's imagination Over those four years I have published countless articles exposing high-level corruption implicating senior heads of Government, Police Commissioners, Constitutional Office holders, Supreme Court Judges, high-profile lawyers, M embers of Parliament, Ministers and even the Prime Minister. Now is it beyond doubt most if not all my articles are highly defamatory raising serious criminal allegations against all of them. Defamation is defined as accusations (claims) against a person that injures or damages their reputation. Under PNG law a person maybe sued or criminally charged for committing it. O'Neill Government recently passed Cyber-Crime Act and made amendments to the Criminal code defining defamation as a serious criminal offence. The new amendments state that a

BAKI MUST RESIGN - MORAUTA

Image
Former Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta said today the Police Commissioner, Mr Gary Baki, must resign forthwith or be dismissed by the Prime Minister. It is impossible for a Police Commissioner to remain in office after organizing and conducting an illegal operation involving foreign mercenaries. “His is a Constitutional Office,” Sir Mekere said. “The holder of such offices must be beyond reproach, and Mr Baki does not fit into that category. He must go.” Sir Mekere said the deportation of the illegal foreign mercenaries and the winding up of Mr Baki’s illegal operation meant there is added urgency for an independent inquiry into the scandal. The Ombudsman Commission now has ample public evidence on which to base an inquiry. Such an inquiry should cover all the financial and legal aspects of Mr Baki’s operation. It should also seek to establish who else might have been involved, including Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari, national security off

PNG needs maturity in political debates

by PETER S. KINJAP Papua New Guinea has entered the third week of the eight-week election campaign before polling commences next month. Unlike previous elections, this year’s campaign appears not as noisy as in the past. Social media has played an important role in the campaign so far with political parties buying Facebook pages to launch their awareness messages. Almost all the 15 political parties in PNG contesting the election now have a paid Facebook Page. The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) has reportedly disseminated a lot of information about its polices and continues running social media ads. One of the PNC’s major party platforms is the Free Education policy. As the ruling party, it has implemented and PNG has felt its impact since 2012. Like any other government policy, the PNC free education policy has its weaknesses. In order to defend this policy, party leader and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill said recently he wanted to make the PNC’s free educat

HERE FOR APEC OR OIL & GAS?

by BRYAN KRAMER In the last three days I received numerous messages asking if I knew anything about the foreign nationals heavily armed and walking the streets of Port Moresby. My response was no and that I would have to look into it. Yesterday the Commissioner of Police Gary Baki issued a press statement on the same issue triggering me to take some timeout to make my own inquires into the matter. Baki stated that "Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary is currently engaged in discussions with an American based security company, Laurence Aviation & Security Group, to train an elite rapid response team for APEC 2018 and for ongoing policing into the future." He explained that the company staffed by former American military and police personnel offers high-end security solutions to its customers globally including the United States Government. “I was approached by the president of the company, Mr Peter Halliman around July last year. He was offering his company’s
