PANGU TO SACK BAKANI AND FREEZE ALL ACCOUNTS UNDER HIM AND ASSOCIATES AT BPNG

Image
by SAM BASIL MP

Since the O’Neil PNC government took office five years ago, their mismanagement of the economy has been acknowledged by myself, representing the Opposition, on countless occasions, from the illegal UBS loan and a substantial decrease in  foreign reserves, to the lack of education and health foresight bestowed on Papua New Guineans.

The lack of teaching facilities and lack of medicine as well as the manipulation of economic information on the status of our economy, is enough to inform Papua New Guineans that the O’Neil PNC government hasn’t prioritised the welfare of PNG’s population and the economy.

Certain public servants are also responsible for their negligence, in conforming to the ill will of the coalition government and one of these public servants is the Governor of the Bank Of PNG (BPNG), Loi Bakani.

His recent outrageous comment that the economy shouldn’t be a topic of discussion during the election, can only reflect his guilty conscience when visible strug…

PNG needs maturity in political debates

Image
byPETER S. KINJAP
Papua New Guinea has entered the third week of the eight-week election campaign before polling commences next month. Unlike previous elections, this year’s campaign appears not as noisy as in the past. Social media has played an important role in the campaign so far with political parties buying Facebook pages to launch their awareness messages. Almost all the 15 political parties in PNG contesting the election now have a paid Facebook Page. The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) has reportedly disseminated a lot of information about its polices and continues running social media ads. One of the PNC’s major party platforms is the Free Education policy. As the ruling party, it has implemented and PNG has felt its impact since 2012. Like any other government policy, the PNC free education policy has its weaknesses. In order to defend this policy, party leader and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill said recently he wanted to make the PNC’s free education policy government polic…

PETER O'NEILL TOLD TO CHECK FACTS BEFORE MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS

Image
Former Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta today again rebutted the Prime Minister’s claims about PNG Sustainable Development Program Ltd and his chairmanship.
Sir Mekere referred to an article in the Post Courier of 27 April, which he said was a regurgitation of a media release put out a week ago on the PNC website. “I answered the false allegations he made in a media statement on 23 April; my statement was actually printed by the Post-Courier on 24 April. “Yet he and his media friends persist in repeating false claims.” Sir Mekere said that being an Independent candidate for the election does not make him an “active politician”. “I am like the other 4000-plus private citizens who are not Parliamentarians but are standing in the election,” he said. “Mr O’Neill forgets that PNGSDP is a company, and that I am not a public employee.” Sir Mekere said every claim made by the Prime Minister about PNGSDP and his role as chairman was false. The facts are: I have taken legal advice long ago about my p…

WHO IS PETER O'NEILL? FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE MAN

Image
byMICHAEL J. PASSINGAN
This article brings to light the dark side and unknown secrets of Peter O'Neill, the Member for Ialibu Pangia Electorate and the Prime Minister of PNG. These uncompromising and compelling truths revealed here might surprise you, but you will not regret that you have discovered the deep secrets of his background and character unknown to the majority of Papua New Guineans and the whole world.

During the political impasse since August 2 2011, I have supported the O'Neill/Namah regime against the Somare/Abel regime. The reason of my support was to change Somare’s unpopular regime that was deeply systematic and systemically corrupt. In the process, I admit that our constitution was tempered and violated. Even though our Supreme Court ruled in favour of Somare’s legitimacy, I went at great lengths to argue and support that O'Neill/Namah regime was legitimate. Consequently, the Somare/Abal regime was dethroned and destabilised. They usurped the power as an …

PNG election ragged with corrupt money – Is GRUF a hidden version PNC party?

Image
byPETER S. KINJAP AT around the same time five (5) years ago, the Peter O’Neill and PNC team on campaign rallies promised to curb high level corruption in the Government, if we could remember. The then disbanded Investigation Task Force Sweep (ITFS) was setup for this purpose which did an excellent job exposing and prosecuting corruption and malfeasance. Along the way, when the police fraud squad got too nosy for comfort, police commissioner Garry Baki applied a somewhat special “vetting” to high profile cases under investigation, something which appears to be a smokescreen to hide the Paul Paraka saga that involves questioning Peter O’Neill. This is evident when Paul Paraka wrote to the Police Commissioner Garry Baki to ‘crash’ all files relating the case dated August 2016. The bond between Paul Paraka and Peter O’Neill is not so hidden. When Paul Paraka was arrested on the Oct 23, 2013 over 18 allegations, he claimed the payments were for the work done by his Law firm and are lawful. P…

GOVERNMENT CHECKS AND BALANCE SYSTEM DESTROYED BY O'NEILL

Image
by APELIS TOKIVA
PETER O'NEILL HAS DEDICATED THE LAST 4 1/2 YEARS TO PARALYSING ANY DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTION OF GOVERNMENT DESIGNED TO KEEP CHECKS ON ANY LEADER AMASSING TOO MUCH POWER, THEN ABUSING IT:  He has successfully paralysed the ability of the police, fraud squad, ombudsman commission, auditor general, etc to investigate white collar crime or leader abuse of power by strangling them financially and if necessary, shutting them down physically.  He has successfully strangled the court system using his old strategy which has worked so well for his NPF fraud troubles and others in the past. Mounting endless court challenges passes time to the point the public forgets all about the case. That's when Peter O'Neill (and Jimmy Maladina) can make a deal, through bribery or intimidation (whatever it takes) to end the court case in his favour.  He has successfully castrated Parliament until it has become an easy to manipulate puppet, usually successfully warding off Vote of No Con…

PLANNED MOVE BY BAKANI TO PROP PNC WITH UNTRACEABLE WAR CHEST OF K124 MILLION

Image
byMICHAEL PASSINGAN

Its not Rocket Science, Papua New Guineans should know that the country is crumbling.

Bank of PNG Governor Loi Bakani’s explanation of the theft of K124 million in demonetised banknotes, and their illegal distribution across the country and on EBay, is pathetic.

The theft is clearly an inside job and Bakani’s statement is an attempt to cover that fact up.

It could only have been carried out with detailed knowledge of the bank’s practices for the destruction of notes that have been taken out of circulation.

Even more alarming is that the scandal – yes, another one in the O’Neill Regime, one of the most corrupt governments in the world – comes at election time.

It won’t be long before the money starts appearing in the Highlands as election bribes by PNC candidates and coalition cronies

Some stories circulating in Highlands centres indicate that that is already happening.

It’s an easy thing to do, as PNC’s crooked strategists surely know. Villagers in remote areas are unli…

The Strategy That Virtually Guarantees An Overwhelming PNC Victory In the 2017 Elections (Part 2)

Image
by WALI DAVID

In the first part of this article, I began to outline the strategy that almost guarantees PNG winning the 2017 elections in a landslide and puts the Prime Minister in position to remain in power for as long as he wants, even for life.
There are 4 different parts to this strategy.   In Part1, the necessity of focusing the 2017 campaign on rural open seats and forget about urban electorates was explained.   Following that, the need to politicize the Electoral Commission so that it came firmly under PNC control but remaining a government body was explained.
We will now turn to the 3rd strategy of the grand plan that would allow the PNC to win the 2017 election in a landslide.

GRAND STRATEGY 3-  AT THE BEGINNING OF ELECTION YEAR, BEGIN TRANSFER OF LARGE SUMS OF PUBLIC MONEY TO RURAL DISTRICTS
This part of the strategy involves putting together a massive warchest to fund candidates.   Specfiically, it involves acquiring and sending large sums of public money to reach candid…
