PETER O'NEILL TURNS A BLIND EYE ON MPS IMPLICATED IN SEX-FOR-GOVERNMENT-FAVOURS

Image
by STEVEN YANDARI

REVELATIONS ON PNG BLOGS WOULD NORMALLY RESULT IN AN OUTRAGED PUBLIC RESPONSE BY THE PRIME MINISTER. Not against the publisher of the information, but a call to establish a Commission of Inquiry to get to the bottom of the multiple stories of massive sex-for-government-favours that the Dora Lu/Ru Lu stories are bringing out. Remember, however, that when Peter O'Neill came into power as PM, and his government established a set of about 10 priority action areas for the government, "fighting corruption" wasn't on the list at all. This was despite the glaring fact that PNG is in the top 15% of most corrupt countries in the world.

There is silence from the Prime Minister and the government on the Dora Lu story. There is silence from The National, the Post Courier, and government owned EM-TV. Why is there such silence when, in fact, a journalist at any of these organisations could create a flashy reputation and good name if they investigated and found ou…

How Port Courier fooled News Corp's Rupert Murdoch and became the connoisseur of fake news reporting in PNG

Image
by GABINA TAU

Post Courier is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Limited . It's biggest PNG shareholder is Nambawan Super with almost 26 percent. Strangely NSL does not have a director on the board which gives the management free reign.

The Managing Director Kevin Smith is gay and lives with a little gay boy (half kerema hula). Together with other corrupt managers they been busy building the private empires.
Kevin Smith is close to Ozzie at Ela Beach Hotel and through him to Peter O'Neill. Smith and his management frequent Airways Bacchus bar where he has a private drinks cabinet for him and his gay lovers.

Over the years Kevin Smith and the late editor Blaise Nagoi had a desire to win an award in the News Limited annual awards for excellence in journalism.  They got close once with Gorethy Kenneth who is a O'Neill girl and regular Paddy's stool warmer. So their luck struck when a conman named Simon Eroro dreamt up this unbelievably outrageous concoction of a story.

DIANNE WAKETSI AND POST COURIER'S OBSESSION WITH PORN

Image
NIUGINI OUTLOOK

THE WORST THING TO DO AFTER YOU’VE MADE A MISTAKE IS TO LIE AND TRY TO COVER IT UP: ENTER POST COURIER “JOURNALIST” DIANNE WAKETSI!
“Journalist” Dianne Waketsi has had a few jobs since she graduated from Divine World University with a degree in journalism. On the surface it looks like she is an experienced reporter, but it is becoming quickly apparent that she’s not on a career upswing, but stuck in a rut at the Post Courier. The most likely reason is her poor journalism skills which have now backfired royally into her face as she has shamed Papua New Guinea generally, and Western Highlanders specifically, as being addicted to using the internet to seek out porn. The facts do not support this at all. In some instances it is clear that Dianne Waketsi outright lied in her story. In other cases, she couldn’t be bothered to understand the statistics she was reporting on, and got it all wrong.

But she admits none of this and is trying to spin the controversy over her article …

OSEAH PHILEMON CHAMPIONED FREEDOM OF PRESS AGAINST TWO PRIME MINISTERS

Image
Kevin Rozzoli & Quinton Clements with Mr Oseah Philemon, then President of the PNG Media Council.
byAn Old Friend and Admirer
Late Oseah Philemon always tried his best to do what was right for the good of PNG.   He took seriously his responsibility to uphold freedom of the press.  He resisted political interference and attempts to control what was reported by the Post Courier.  He told me once that if he compromised his ideals on keeping political interference out of the Newspaper Business there would be no reversing the trend once it started.   He was an excellent journalist who will be very hard to replace.
I have 2 Stories to tell as my personal tribute to my dear friend.  Both seem to me as relevant to what is taking place today in the newspapers.   Those who regularly read the Post Courier in the 90s would have seen evidence of both these stories I am about to tell, but would not have known what happened behind the scenes.
Oseah and I were from different walks of life but enj…

Post Courier peddling influence for sitting MPs in early campaign column aimed at affecting 2017 Elections

Image
The Post Courier newspaper is creating an avenue for early campaign though its newly established column, Scan Your MP.

I believe this column published every Tuesdays and Thursdays is a paid newspaper supplement run as an advert.

However, in my view Scan Your MP is indirectly in breach of the Organic Law on National & Local Level Government Elections.

This organic law prohibits candidates and their agents including the mainstream media from taking part in early campaign until the Governor General officially issues the writs. Then the campaign period starts thereafter.

However, Post Courier is creating a forum for sitting MPs, most of whom have money, to coerce the mindsets of the voters and impose undue influence on them as early as possible.

What if an MP featured on this column has not delivered in practical terms some of those so-called services he professes on the media to have delivered using the DSIP funds?

I am raising this warning as my MP who was featured recently in…

WHY STUDENTS ARE RIGHT NOT TO TRUST THE MEDIA - THE POST-COURIER CORRUPTION EXAMPLE, OTHER MEDIA, AND THE PM’S FLOOZIE DOOZIES AND SPIN-KINGS.

University students across the nation are right not to trust the mainstream media (although that does not mean that banning certain sections is justifiable, or beneficial to their cause).
Outlets like the Post-Courier, the National and EMTV are compromised from top to bottom by their own corruption and by fear of the O’Neill Regime’s standover tactics.
Some of their journalists are no better than the media prostitutes (the FLOOZIE DOOZIES) paid by Peter O’Neill to spread his word on social media.
My example will be the Post-Courier, the nation’s oldest surviving daily newspaper and for decades a paragon of media excellence, along with the NBC.
Today it is a shadow of its former self, its reputation in tatters and its circulation declining.
There are two aspects to the Post’s corruption - senior management interference in editorial on behalf of the O’Neill Regime, and j…

Two Days Bring Two New Government Lies That Neither PNG Toiletpaper Daily Bothers To Investigate

Image
by SALMA KULI JACOB It is small wonder that the UPNG students burnt stacks of the toiletpaper dailies AKA The National and the Post Courier.   Both of them fail miserably at objective reporting or achieving any kind of balance in giving both sides of the story.  They’re both content with recycling government verbal diarrhea into certified Post Courier or National pekpek, without  checking out the accuracy of anything they’re asked to run.   IFC Loan Approved For PNG.   Or Was It?   The Post Courier led the way in unprofessionalism on 2 May with the following story: This news comes from the Bank of PNG which we all have come to see is in collusion with Peter O’Neill.  Mind you, no nation’s central bank should ever come under political pressure, because this erodes confidence in a central bank to do what’s best for the economy, no matter what the political fallout.  Unfortunately, the big picture of making decisions usually seems to escape our leaders and top level bureaucrats these days,…
