You have just put it in a picture perfect way. Very sorry for the so called Landowners. No wonder why their Business Development Grants grants have been so delayed for so long and just released after all the required plants/equipment have been in place at the project sites.
I just don't know what kinds of business spin offs these Landowners will invest their government gifts into.

Stanis Talu, chairman of Gigira Development Corporation which is one of the existing and recognized Lancos have put straight in yesterdays (18/01/11) Post Courier and National that there are no business opportunities for them, effectively rendering the Government's Business Development Grants useless.They can't invest these Business Development Grants in sensible ways in this mega project for couple of reasons;

  • There are no business opportunities in which they can invest their grants in a profound manner that could make business sense. Some of them bought shares in TWL which of course as Ipa Mondoli has pointed out has been conned by Agiru already through his MV Giluwe/MV Bosavi/Mv Mamai/etc.
  • Agiru has all the plant/equipment on the ground through Curtin Brothers. Curtin Brothers has supplied all the heavy equipments already. CB is just asking the Landowners to bring in Land-cruisers. Some Landowners have JVs with business people from outside to get their share of commission from Land-cruiser owners from outside. That's how they are participating. The others especially the Local MPs have supplied theirs through HGDC and other smaller recognized Lancos while 99.9% of the project area Landowners are still struggling to grab their share of the crumbs.
  • Agiru planned it very well. The Business Development Grants have been delayed deliberately by Agiru so that Landowners will face this very predicament as it is now.
So now who in Hela can challenge Agiru? I see absolutely no body matching Agiru's financial might. Only Larry and Sakai may team up to scratch his hills. Nothing more than that. Agiru will flush the whole of Hela with cash come 2012. He will just pour out a tiny fraction of his billions to psycho-play the Helas as the Helas normally get psyched-up so quickly by cash and emotion.

Agiru is playing a bigger politics. He has got Hela under his knees already. That's for sure as there is no son of Hela to parallel his might.

He is now playing national politics. The Somares (father and son) know that Agiru through URP is a bigger threat to NA then their internal NA politics because Agiru now has the money. They know Agiru will fund all 109 seats and pump them with cash. Agiru is now playing it very carefully and political insiders know this very well. 

That's why Somare keeps Duma as his second Arthur to pursue the first Aurthur's political aspirations and wealth creation through political power. URP is therefore split within itself with Duma and his faction on one side and Agiru/Potape and their faction on the other side over the party leadership post. And the Somare's will do everything within their power to ensure Agiru stays out as party leader for URP.

Anyway, that's a bit about Agiru's political standing in PNG and Hela. If the Hela's (both elits and Land  Owners) really want to bring the giant down, then, they better start strategising now rather talking. Otherwise it will be Agiru Pawa.

His academic credentials are subject to scrutiny. AUGUSTINE MANO PNG'S PREMIER CORPORATE CROOK

The court ruled that MRDC's appeal was an "abuse of process" and ordered the company to pay costs of the proceedings.
