Why You All Want Kapris Dead?

By LUCAS KIAP

The poor nation has jumped ship again. This time, they want the convicted criminal, bank robber and murderer Walliam Nanua Kapris shot to death or worse, captured and hanged alive. Yes he has escaped at a time when the country has been plagued with violent crimes against our women and children. He is seen to be adding salt to a wound yet to be healed.

All the anger, frustrations, and wrath of the seven million people of Papua New Guinea are now upon this man. He is more than a condemn man now as the verdict for his death sentence is seen to be handed down by himself because of his second escape from prison. He would have been crucified alive if we were living during the time of Jesus but how far he can run is the guess of those who are betting heavily on his final death verdict.

However, if all countries were free of convicted criminals, murders, or rapists PNG is seen to be creating history and hitting the news headlines across the globe for all the wrong reasons. One man has brought the nation to a standstill. He has done it before and he has done it again.

The man, Walliam Nanu Kapris dubbed by many as the mastermind of major bank robberies in the country has escaped from not just an ordinary prison but the maximum prison in the country, where no one is expected to see the light of the day. After learning of his escape, the Correctional service hierarchy is seen too soon but as expected explains the circumstances of his escape by saying that the rest of the officers were busy at another event with all their guns, leaving behind duty guards with bare hands to man the prison gates.

Weird as it may sound but the country will get over it soon with no heads rolling or sackings. However, the failure of the hierarchy to maintain and provide maximum security at the prison will see millions of public funds being wasted again on the hunt and recapture or eventually killing of this wanted criminal you all want dead.

This bank robber once confessed in a video interview that he was a scapegoat of some high profile politicians who used him and funded his operations in secrecy while profiting from whatever he had stolen. Yet the nation did not take seriously his confessions only to make fun of him as a convicted criminal psycho trying to excuse himself from the criminal justice system for leniency in his sentence.

Whatever it was, having the criminal behind bars was seen far more important than going after the political leaders he implicated as his backers. It seems now that this high profile prisoner is in fact not an ordinary criminal. If he can be able to find his way out of the maximum prison too easily twice, the prison at Bomana needs to change its name from maximum to minimum.

To cut a long story short, I wish all Papua New Guineans finally realize who the real criminals responsible for stealing millions and billions of public funds meant for improving and raising the standard of living for the rural people which makes eighty-five percent of the total population.

If you think criminals like Walliam Nanua Kapris has been stealing millions of your money and you want them dead, I am sorry but you are making the greatest mistake of your life – we will all forever be complaining about basic government services, high process of goods and services, high cost of living, low wages, lack of housing, escalating law and order problems but to name a few.
