PNGBlogs

Papua New Guineans will wake up this morning to learn that Prime Minister and two very senior Ministers, Don Polye and James Marape, Ministers responsible for Finance and Treasury respectively have colluded with the Paraka Lawyers law firm in siphoning money belonging to the State in paying out bogus legal bills.

Paul Paraka Lawyers principal was arrested last week and is now out on bail. What is startling from this latest development is that Papua New Guineans will now come to know that the Peter O’Niell PNG’s Prime Minister is a serial LIAR and does not have control over this government and cabinet.

Internal documents now confirm the authority given to the two Ministers came from the Prime Minister himself,  the two ministers have been a willing party to collaborate with the Law firm by directing their offices in issuing warrant to release payments to Paraka Lawyers.

Finance Minister James Marape issued the initial instructions to his secretary Steven Gibson on the 3rd of October 2012 to source funds from the existing budgetary framework and settle Paraka Lawyers outstanding legal bill. In his letter he states “The Prime Minister is aware of Paraka Lawyers outstanding legal bills and has directed them to be settled forthwith”

Don Polye’s letter dated 24th October 2012 only goes to confirm that Peter O’Neill lied to the people of PNG and the international media on his knowledge of the Paraka legal bills. Polye wrote to the Secretary for Treasury Simon Tosali to source special funding to settle lawyers’ legal bills. Polye writes  “The Minister for Finance has made a formal request through my office for a special funding to settle the Lawyers’ legal bills. The Prime Minister is aware of these legal bills and has directed the bills to be settled”.

At this stage we all know the Prime Minister is aware and has given the instructions and yet he has lied continuously when he was pressed by the media. The documents are no longer secret, they are here and out for everyone to see what kind of leader we have leading this nation.  We have a Serial Liar for PM, You make your own judgement PNG, we have a free falling kina, unemployment is up, all concessions and rights have been given to foreigners, its time we wake up.

Today during press conference Hon. Belden Namah accompanied with his deputy and member for Bulolo, Hon. Sam Basil, Rabaul MP Allan Marat and new inclusion to the Opposition, Pomio MP Paul Tienstan presented a set of documents that included letters of directive from the PM to his Ministers and Dept. Secretaries to pay Paul Paraka a total of K71.8 million.

Also presented during press conference was a copy of a warrant amounting K10 million paid to Ian Molloy to represent Paul Paraka.
The shocking news has now exposed PNG Prime Minister Peter O’Neill to have conspired with his Finance Minister Hon. James Marape and Minister for Treasury Hon. Don Polye who colluded with Paul Paraka in defrauding the state, a total of K71.8 million in tax payers’ monies.
Hon. Belden Namah said during press conference this evening that a formal letter of complaint was handed over at Police Head Quarters, Konedobu in Port Moresby. The contents of the binded booklet included a letter complaint against Prime Minister Peter O’Neill for his part in the fraudulent payment of K71.8 million to Paul Paraka Lawyers.
The formal complaint plus documents were received by Assistant Police Commissioner, fraud squad officers and y other senior police personnel to aid with their investigations in the Paul Paraka scandal.
The Opposition Leader said that a criminal investigation will be conducted against the PM, Peter O’Neill who lied in Parliament during the May session of this year, and also to ABC FOUR CORNERS from Australia.

The formal complaint, a binded booklet had all source documents has now exposed Papua New Guinea’s PM Hon. Peter O’Neill to have directed the payment he lied about in Parliament with claim that the letter was forged.
