Papua New Guineans will wake up this morning to learn that
Prime Minister and two very senior Ministers, Don Polye and James Marape,
Ministers responsible for Finance and Treasury respectively have colluded with the
Paraka Lawyers law firm in siphoning money belonging to the State in paying out
bogus legal bills.
Paul Paraka Lawyers principal was arrested last week and is
now out on bail. What is startling from this latest development is that Papua
New Guineans will now come to know that the Peter O’Niell PNG’s Prime Minister is
a serial LIAR and does not have
control over this government and cabinet.
Internal documents now confirm the authority given to the
two Ministers came from the Prime Minister himself, the two ministers have been a willing party to
collaborate with the Law firm by directing their offices in issuing warrant to
release payments to Paraka Lawyers.
Finance Minister James Marape issued the initial
instructions to his secretary Steven Gibson on the 3rd of October
2012 to source funds from the existing budgetary framework and settle Paraka
Lawyers outstanding legal bill. In his letter he states “The Prime Minister is aware of Paraka Lawyers
outstanding legal bills and has directed them to be settled forthwith”
Don Polye’s letter dated 24th October 2012 only
goes to confirm that Peter O’Neill lied to the people of PNG and the
international media on his knowledge of the Paraka legal bills. Polye wrote to
the Secretary for Treasury Simon Tosali to source special funding to settle
lawyers’ legal bills. Polye writes “The Minister
for Finance has made a formal request through my office for a special funding
to settle the Lawyers’ legal bills. The Prime Minister is aware of these legal
bills and has directed the bills to be settled”.
At this stage we all know the Prime Minister is aware and
has given the instructions and yet he has lied continuously when he was pressed
by the media. The documents are no longer secret, they are here and out for
everyone to see what kind of leader we have leading this nation. We have a Serial Liar for PM, You make your
own judgement PNG, we have a free falling kina, unemployment is up, all concessions
and rights have been given to foreigners, its time we wake up.
