SNOW WHITE AND THE GESTAPO IN WAIGANI

Image
In the last 6 months the nation has had tie to reflect on what has happened since 2nd August 2011. The nation had grown weary of the antics of those around Somare, especially the gang of 4, in O'Neill, Arthur, Patrick and Paul. The person who cleverly manipulated the whole lot and benefited most was none other than Peter O'Neill. Arthur was suspected of selling the country short to his benefit and I covered that in a separate article in this blog concerning the financing of the LNG project through Dubai connections . Arthur a person with no University degree suffers from inferiority complex and loves to listen to white men for advice had to do something clever and major in his life to let everyone know he is to be taken seriously. That is why he tried to do the LNG deal on his own, just like the mythical young Prince Arthur on a quest, but this time he stuffed up because he didn't have a wonder working Merlin by his side. So like Judas, for 30 pieces of silver

Basil calls for Unity on Indonesian Military Jet Incident

Image
By: SAM BASIL MP Minister for National Planning and Monitoring Hon Sam Basil today urged the nation to remain united over the Indonesian military jet incident involving the Falcon Jet. “No nation, however large or small, however rich or poor, however large or small its army, should be allowed to intimidate, coerce, manipulate and dominate another,” Mr Basil said. “That is one of the pillars that hold up the United Nations and the basis upon which Deputy Prime Minister Honourable Belden Namah raised the issue on the November 29, 2011 incident.” Mr Basil was referring to the much publicized issue on an intercept by two Indonesian military jets on the Air Niugini-managed Falcon Jet. Mr Namah and his business partners together with Minister for Police Hon John Boito and Mr Basil were on-board as well flying over Sulawesi in the Indonesian air space when the incident happened. “I am urging Papua New Guineans not to be swayed by malicious and untrue suggestions that the Falcon Jet was carryi

Somare refered to Police, its still not over

AAP Reports Acting Speaker, not a very clean record PAPUA New Guinea's acting speaker has recommended the nation's first prime minister, Sir Michael Somare, be referred to police after he entered parliament, brandishing a Supreme Court order that returned him to power. Deputy Speaker Francis Marus said Sir Michael, 75, acted illegally when he and some of his supporters walked into the house chamber and placed the Supreme Court order on the Speaker's desk yesterday. The majority of parliament late last year voted to dump Sir Michael from his East Sepik electorate, which he has held for 43 years. "It is very clear the Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare has broken the laws of this country, and more importantly the powers and privileges of the honourable house," Mr Marus said. "I therefore recommend that this honourable house refer Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare to the relevant authorities." Parliament adjourned soon after until tomo

Powes Parkop schooled on "Setting the Record Straight"

Image
I have read the legal arguments of Hon. Powes Parkop titled "Setting the Record Straight" in the TheNational and Post Courier newspapers last Friday 13th January 2012. However, most of his arguments to legitimize O'Neill regime are misleading and false. I would like to point out 12 arguments of Parkop which are misleading. 1. The Wingti/Chan incident did not happen in 1987. The fact was half cooked truth. It happened in September of 1993. Almost one year  after the incident (August of 1994), the government was changed. Chan became the new PM. This fact that the incident happened in 1987 is misleading. 2. Parkop said that "Parliament corrected the mistake or error" of the Wingti regime. This is a misleading statement. It was the  full Supreme Court bench that corrected the mistake or error. Parliament succumb to the interpretation/verdict of the Supreme Court and followed it. 3. In the Philip Taku case in 1999, Parliament had acted in defiance of the

THE MONOPOLIC RICE & FALL OF PNG

Image
Once upon a time PNG-Australia relations was predicated heavily on rice sales in PNG. For a long time, Australian rice sales to PNG was maintained in the vicinity of $300 million, making it one of the largest single commodity export to a single country on consistent basis. PNG provided the blue print by which Australia replicated this model throughout the Pacific. Even in Fiji, the home of Sun Rice, Australia managed to use political and other connections to kill that indigenous rice industry to establish it as one of the distribution point of the Australian rice products. That is largely the case today for Fiji. Australian rice industry is about Australian politics. It is about the rise and fall of the Country/National Party, where rice is grown in the heartlands of the Riverina and the Murray/Darling basin past the cotton country. So it was not a surprise when Deputy Prime Minister Tim Fisher once flew in to confront Sir Julius Chan over PNG Government move (spearheaded

'Local' Rice firm owned by International Fugitive Djoko Tjadra

Naima Agro Industries Limited, the rice company that will grow rice at Bereina Central Province is owned by International fugitive Djoko Tjandra. Tjandra is the owner of Mulia Group, an Indonesian Multi-National Company that owns Naima Industries. Papua New Guineans were misled by our Government to believe that a PNG Citizen Eleana  Tjandranegara was the sole owner of Naima Agro Industries. Naima will recieve a tax holiday from the Government of PNG to get the Bereina rice project underway. What has until now been the only cause of uproar has been a proposed import tariff on all rice in PNG, virtually driving the rest of the rice industry in PNG into the ground as all rice in the country right now is imported. The import tariff will virtually tilt the rice market to Naima's advantage and has the potential to drive Trukai, EzyCook, Homestate and Goodman Fielder's Flame rice brands out of production. The set-up will see Naima dominate the rice market. Naima is owned

Parkop is wrong and misleading the public on Law, Practise and Precedents

Image
Powes Parkop was my Lawyer and represented my people in a claim against the government in the past, and I had faith and trust in him. Today, and after reading his repeated article on the Papers, Iam convinced he has departed from the path of truth that I found him on when he was a young lawyer. I suppose money and political power do leave their corruptive and corrosive strains on a man's seat of intelligence, and I might just begin to believe some of the rumors of the City Hall making the rounds. That aside, I firmly believe Parkop is actively seeking to mis-lead the public and thereby falls in contempt of the express Court Orders of the Supreme Court made last December on the Reference by the East Sepik Provincial Government. If Luksave's comment is true of Marat filing a Reference in the same Court to justify ONeill-Namah's legitimacy, then Parkop is in deeper  Conempt of the Supreme Court by deliberately and scandalously seeking to 'yoke' the Supreme
