Misplaced Moral Compass In Some Unitech Senior Executives

For some time stories have been growing about corruption at unitech  while Albert Schram was kept out of PN.G Some of these stories are now revealed while others still whispered.  As more evidence is building it seems we will be needing a formal  investigation into the matter. Senior executives know these stories themselves generally. Why did  they not open up and deal with the stories directly? This is a sign of  guilt and trying to hide the truth. Why are so many different stories now circulating about monkey  business that went on between one senior executive manager in  particular helping other staff make business deals with Unitech? Are we as nationals incapable of resisting all the money temptations  that most Europeans seem to resist easily?  I'm talking about the  temptation to quietly ask for bribes or kickbacks from those who  deliver goods and services to Unitech.   Also the temptation of  setting up private companies and then making deals with senior  executive manageme

MORE LIES BY THE O’NEILL NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL TO UNITECH STUDENTS - NEC Decision paper attached,.

By STAFF REPORTERS It is often reported that the Sevua report gives a glimpse into the wholesale corruption at Unitech during VC Misty Baloiloi’s 18 year term as vice chancellor, and its extension to the governing council led by Chancellor Philip Stagg and Pro-Chancellor Ralph Saulep.  It is of critical value to make an accounting of the extent of corruption that occurred and which remains to be cleaned at the university.  That is why its release has been pressured by a wide range of stakeholders and other parties.  Release of the Sevua report has always been one of the two demands of the students.  It has also been taken on as a primary demand by anti-corruption activist groups in Port Moresby. After their several attempts to threaten the students to abandon their boycott failed, there were  non-genuine attempts to appease the students.  Generally this has taken the form of offering false reasons to explain delays, or getting students to believe that the government has made progress w

And the winners are..... ?????? Scrutinising the Content of The New Unitech Council

By STAFF REPORTERS The drum rolls are getting louder.  The NEC made its decision yesterday to appoint the new members of Unitech Council.  The question will be whether Peter O'Neill and his uncredible advisors  in the PM's Department and OHE will finally apply a professional process to select the new Unitech Council members, or whether it will be more of the same corruption that has decimated the boards and  councils of so many of our other once fine PNG institutions. The worst possible result on Friday would be the reappointment of  Peter O'Neill's brata lewas, Philip Stagg and Ralph Saulep.  If that happens, the students of Unitech cannot be blamed if they went on a  rampage, honestly speaking.   Enough is enough of the unending pattern of government deceit and trickery.  The students are fed up and so are growing numbers of urban Papua New Guineans.  Fortunately we suspect that Peter O'Neill has fbeen burned badly enough by previous contact with the Stagg/Saulep

Soul Searching Rather Than Blaming Is Needed For Personal Growth

By Unitech Resident Acting VC John Pumwa and and Pro VC Macquin Maino have unfortunately become the crybabies of the senior executive management team, exuding bitterness concerning their fall from the top and blaming everyone but themselves for their predicament. They block from their minds that their leadership failed to dialogue appropriately and early enough with students, created more anger than harmony each time they met, and caused the present standoff.    Subsequently the SRC hasn’t talked with them in weeks and took over the functioning of the campus the moment the SEM stood down and the administration building was closed.     Generally the students are keeping the campus in just about as good shape, as much so as Pumwa and Maino did when they were working.  There was a bit of problem in the dorms for a few nights with rowdy students recently but it seems to be corrected.  Of recent boycotts this has been the most peaceful.  Outside troublemakers never had a chance to create pr
