A NEW BREED OF PNG PAPARAZZI EXPOSING PERVERTED PNG POLLIES

Image
PNGBlogs Contributor Network Gulf Governor Havilo Kavo with his under-aged lover. In Papua New Guinea, for far too many years prior to and following the advent of the internet introduced late to PNG in 1998, many prominent Papua New Guinean political leaders have not been exposed by mainstream media for any alleged misconduct in office if allegations or evidence involved any issue considered personal. The mainstream print media in particular shied away from exposing political leaders for alleged misconduct in office by naming them and subjecting them to public scrutiny by holding them accountable under the Leadership Code if the issue was of a 'personal' nature possibly because of potential 'payback' or revenge by the political leaders supporters. Those days are long gone, thanks to Digicel and the explosion of PNG social media; and also proxy servers via which it is impossible to trace an internet user who for security reasons does not want to b

Please PO, Enough with the Chinese Dress

Image
For a national leader to adopt the national dress of Communist China as their own formal wear is weird to say the least. By The Waigani Observer From the time he became prime minister, one thing about Peter O’Neill has annoyed  the crap out of a couple of his minders.    Again and again on EMTV and in the newspapers you will see our PM helicoptering around the villages of PNG and meeting world leaders dressed not in a western business suit, nor the Melanesian laplap typical of Fijian leaders and Michael Somare, but in an unusual kind of dress coat.   It’s not really western and certainly not Melanesian.  PO’s specially selected dress seems well suited for any occasion. Those who know a little about Asian history or travelled around China could figure it out.    PO is wearing a style of dress so clearly associated with a particular person that it bears their name.   We’re talking about none other than the Mao Suit named after Mao Zedong.     Who is Mao Zedong and

Prime Minister's attack on the Ombudsman Commission should be a cause of concern for PNG

Image
By Joseph Yandapaki The Prime Minister’s unprecedented attack on the independence and integrity of the Ombudsman Commission over his referral for prosecution under the Leadership Code should be of great concern to all Papua New Guineans. The Ombudsman Commission is a critical independent institution of state and is a foundation-stone of good governance of the nation. The Prime Minister’s deceitful attack on it is designed to undermine its standing ahead of any hearing of his case, and ultimately to prevent any prosecution going ahead under a Leadership Tribunal. His actions constitute a direct threat to the effectiveness of the Ombudsman Commission and its role in national affairs. Ultimately they are a direct threat to the commission’s existence. People should not be surprised by the attack, nor by the slyness of it, the use of half-truths and misinformation, and the blatant disregard for the Constitutional processes and procedures that underpin the Ombudsman Commission. The untouchable PM?

Image
The PM is always disappointed about the conduct of everyone around him except himself. He tries to create around himself an image of being always picked on, unfairly judged, hounded by his political enemies, blah blah blah. Peter O'Neill is constructed of 100% lies and deceptions. Virtually everything he does is a deception, from his "helping the rural poor" district support grants designed to buy the loyalty of MPs who then use the money to buy the peoples votes, to his fake foundation designed to create the illusion that Peter O'Neill actually cares about anyone but himself, to his perpetual contradictions of his own previous personal statements like: That letter doesn't even exist, I didn't even sign that letter that doesn't exist, I may have sign ed that letter but the payment was legal, blah blah blah. How much longer must we tolerate this leader without a conscience or remorse, a man appointed to lead his country who in actuality thinks about n

BREAKING NEWS: OMBUDSMAN COMMISSION REFERS PETER O'NEILL TO LEADERSHIP TRIBUNAL

Image
The Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill has expressed disappointment in the manner in which the Ombudsman Commission has referred him to the Public Prosecutor. The referral is based on three allegations: 1. Claims that the National Government did not follow administrative and financial processes in acquiring the UBS loan to purchase shares in Oil Search Limited 2. The sacking of Don Polye as Treasurer 3. Making a statement on EMTV relating to the lack of official consultation on the matter. The claims follow the decision by the National Government to raise a UBS bank loan that enabled Papua New Guinea to buy back shares in Oil Search that have since increased in value by close to 500 million Kina. “It is disappointing that the Ombudsman Commission has chosen to take this course of action instead of following procedure and tabling its final investigation in Parliament,” PM O’Neill said. “This is a case of ‘sour grapes’ by former ministers who have been pushing this issue with th

COURT RESTRAINS PRIME MINISTER AND ACTING OMBUDSMAN

Post Analysis - Cause and Effect  By BRYAN KRAMMER  On Wednesday 6th August 2014, the National Court issued interim injunction (temporary prevention) orders restraining (stopping) the Prime Minister (PM) Peter O'Neill as the Chairman of Ombudsman Appointments Committee and his recent appointee Mr. Howard Maliso as Acting Ombudsman. The orders were sought by the Ombudsman Commission (OC) after the PM appointed Maliso as Acting Ombudsman on 4th July 2104. The OC initiated court proceedings to challenge Maliso's appointment on the grounds it was improper and illegal. Both the PM and Maliso are prevented from exercising or implementing any action or decision that may interfere with the work of the OC until the determination of the proceedings. Maliso is also restrained from taking office as Acting Ombudsman and exercising powers, duties and responsibilities of that office. The matter returns to court on 22 August 2014. So why did the Pri
