PNG GET REAL: NOBODY IS SAVING PNG AT THIS JUNCTURE

Image
by NOAH ARIKU PM Peter O'Neill has serious allegations against him and it is for the Court of Law to judge him. This issue can be settled within the next few months or couple of years. There is something of greater national importance and negative impacts on the next generation that I want to share here. This issue takes around 30 years to settle. We will be leaving ourselves open to further exploitation, for the next 30 years, if we dedicate all our time to discuss the "failures" of PM Peter O'Neill. People are saying we must remove PM Peter O'Neill to rescue PNG. Well and good but be aware that the replacement will either cunningly or stupidly justify the continued raping of our natural resources by Transnational Corporations under the guise of increased foreign investor confidence and a pressing need for foreign reserves to grow our (foreign) export industry. The strategy is so simple that we easily miss it whilst character assassinating each oth

O’NEILL SAGA OF CORRUPTION AND DICTATORSHIP NEARING ITS FINAL PHASE: EVIL FIGHTS BACK

Image
by GEORGE TRIASI The PNG Banana Republic Alive and Well The amazing advertisement run by Peter O’Neill in yesterday’s (Friday) newspapers is a masterpiece of political theatre in a banana republic.  Banana republic is an insulting term used worldwide to refer to a tropical country that has a weak economy, dishonest government, public services that do not work or any combination of these.  Banana republic dictators and their servant politicians usually behave like clowns, unable to think intellectually and speaking like children.  When you hear a politician reduced to such statements as “telling my people too much will only confuse them” you know you’re in a banana republic.  Welcome to Papua New Guinea. PNG has long been a banana republic but Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has taken us to the highest level ever in this category.  The government right now doesn’t even have enough money to honour its 2016 funding commitments to health and education services, yet Peter O’Neill

11 May 2016 UNITECH AWARENESS EVENT EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS.

Image
by PNG Social Media Journalist The growing national people’s movement to remove Peter O’Neill from power took a significant step forward yesterday with a well organized and attended awareness program conducted by students from  the PNG University of Technology, Lae.  The Eriku oval was filled despite the relatively short notice and usual blind eye of the national newspapers in publishing anything that might share the students’ viewpoints with the public.       This event built upon what students of the University of Natural Resources and the Environment have started.   UNRE students had the idea of occupying the time that is being freed up by their boycott by educating themselves and then going out an educating the public.   UNRE students set the standard this year for developing a people power movement for all of PNG.   Now PNGUOT students have brought this to a higher level. Yesterday’s awareness also set a refreshing example for how enforcers of the law should behave in a

JOHN PASKA LOST TOUCH WITH REALITY OF ECONOMIC MISMANAGEMENT THREATENING THE DEMOCRACY.

Image
by LEKEM LAKI   Is it for real that John Paska is well and life in Moresby? Thought he retired from being a unionist and living in the land of bilas peles. I am surprised but he may well have been sleeping on the steering wheel and forgot all about truck load of workers until students and bystanders on the road yield at him and he woke up to his sense. His stance on gross mismanagement of country’s affairs cutting across every strata of society affecting the normal way of life in this cash driven post-modern society was in complete silence. He is only known to be alive coming out in the print media (post courier dated 10/5/16) chanting “Paska sees boycott as threat to democracy”. Where the hell Paska was all these time? Democracy was under immense threat since Peter O’Neil took over the legitimate government of Chief Sir Michael Somare? People like Paska is the living proof or testament of how corrupt he is condemning the students for a noble act. If you (J.

Time For Plan B, Students. The PM Won’t Accept Your Petition Or Agree To Your Demands.

Image
by PETER LASKA Thank you PNG Blogs for providing the space for people like me to share some thoughts on the 2016 JUSTICE FOR PNG SAGA.  What I want to write about is what many UPNG students seem to be thinking at the moment.   Those of us who completed their university studies years ago are much wiser today than when we were doing our studies.  We were very idealistic and optimistic.  You might also say that at that age our lack of experience also made us very naïve.   I remembered that today when a friend told me that UPNG students seriously believe that if they push again and again, the PM will finally give in and accept their petition in person.  These conscientious, caring young peole also think that the PM will think about the petition and as the boycott continues, will decide to honour the student demand and step down.    What naïve thoughts!  The students optimism is wonderful to see but once they see for themselves that their optimism is in error, they might well go

CALCULATING DAILY COSTS OF PROTECTING PETER O’NEILL FROM ARREST

Image
by MICHAEL J PASSINGAN SECURITY DETAIL The Security of the Prime Minister of any country should be concern for the citizens of that country and PNG should not be an exception. Prime Ministers do have a security detail. To my knowledge, prior to August 2011, all the Prime Ministers that PNG had had their security detail. At the most, there would be 5 members of the National Security Unit (NSU) of the Police who would provide security to the Prime Minister. At other times (usually), around two or three officers who would be accompanying the Prime Minister. Since the issuance of the arrest warrant against Peter O’Neill, his personal security detail had been boosted to five (5) unmarked Toyota land cruisers on average for the last two years. I am reliably told by one of those persons that this around-the-clock protection to Prime Minister O’Neill is offered, not only by the members of the NSU, but other police officers and PNG Defence members. For the last four seeks since the d

Police Commissioner Gari Baki files an Affidavit to Exonerate Corrupt Justice Sakora

Image
by JAMES PERAKIN Gari Baki has become dangerous and destructive to the establishment of the Police Force under the Constitution.  His latest move to file an affidavit in support of an application by controversial and corrupt judge Sakora is a testament to his erratic and dangerous behaviour. Under the Constitution, the Police primary function is to arrest and lay charges against criminals. What Gari Baki is doing is to prevent the arrest and charging of criminals. Here are the lists of things he had done so far that are on public record: 1. Immediately after taking office, he supported and continues to do so, Peter O’Neill, James Marape and others to prevent the arrest of these individuals, 2. Suspended or terminated officers like Gitua, Eluh and Damaru to prevent the arrest of these high profile individuals, 3. Conspired with Tiffany Twivey to consent to stop the arrest of Daire Vele, Secretary for Treasury, in relation to the fraud involving purchase of two electricity

WHY STUDENTS ARE RIGHT NOT TO TRUST THE MEDIA - THE POST-COURIER CORRUPTION EXAMPLE, OTHER MEDIA, AND THE PM’S FLOOZIE DOOZIES AND SPIN-KINGS.

Image
by WHISTLEBLOWERS * Journo whistleblowers are invited to contribute to cleaning up the media by contacting pngblogs@gmail.com University students across the nation are right not to trust the mainstream media (although that does not mean that banning certain sections is justifiable, or beneficial to their cause). Outlets like the Post-Courier, the National and EMTV are compromised from top to bottom by their own corruption and by fear of the O’Neill Regime’s standover tactics. Some of their journalists are no better than the media prostitutes (the FLOOZIE DOOZIES) paid by Peter O’Neill to spread his word on social media. My example will be the Post-Courier, the nation’s oldest surviving daily newspaper and for decades a paragon of media excellence, along with the NBC. Today it is a shadow of its former self, its reputation in tatters and its circulation declining. There are two aspects to the Post’s corruption - senior management interference in editori
