A life is gone, properties destroyed and damaged worth millions of tax payers money. Others inflicted with pain and misery and surely it largely affected the academic year. Others are incarcerated for having a hand in the destruction of properties or for termination of life of a young promising and potential leader (in whatever pursued he would be in life). Stakeholders are either in relax mood or to simply put, ignored because of arrogance and stubbornness. Thinking these are just mere students and they won’t go too far by boycotting of classes in the cause of demanding corrupt and pathologically notorious liar Peter O’Neil to step down or step aside and give into police. Not only that, this sleezy retired judge does the bidding for whoever pays him. Will he do it this time, ably assisted by the highly paid lawyers? I doubt he woudn't. Looking at the merits, students protests did not recieve the level of attention it needed. Now they are passing the buck. Who is the likely target here? The students? Are the students the cause of the strike? What is the real issue? What would be the outcome of this inquiry and how would the country benefit from this inquiry. I'd say its just deflection as PM always does it. He chose his best pick to do the dirty work for him.

NIUGINI OUTLOOK We are of the feeling that we are getting closer and closer to the truth of what has happened at Unitech with regard to corruption of the boycott, and start of the tribal war. We have had people who came forward of their own choice and reported to us what has been happening at Unitech. Some have provided bits and pieces of information, others have presented a fuller story. Adding to that we have found ways to get in contact with some other people who are based at Unitech. The stories they gave we compared with the other stories. Not every detail matches, but the wonderful thing about how truth works is that when you put together enough eyewitness accounts, a consistent picture emerges of at least some of the details. The detail of most importance is of course who started the violent clash between students. by JAMES PURENI PURAPIA A massive Highlands Highway reconstruction and upgrade contract has been recommended to be awarded to an inexperience company called Koroba Golding Joint Venture (KGJV) valued at PGK 170m. Department of Works, on May 2016 recommended that KGJV be awarded the contract (CSTB NO. 3333-RETENDER) to construct a 65km road from Halimbu to Kelabo in Koroba Lake Kopiago District of Hela Province under suspicious circumstances. According to the Technical and Financial Report provided by Department of Works and Implementation, KGJV is a joint venture company between Koroba Kopiago Holdings Limited and Golding Contractors PNG Ltd. KGJV was primarily formed as a joint venture company in partnership with an Australian construction company to bid for this project. The students are grouping in regional and provincial groupings and instead of fighting the corrupt regime of Peter O’Neil, students are turning on themselves attacking each other. Some have recovered hastily whilst one or two are at snail pace on the road to recovery from drug addict policemen who fired live ammunition into harmless UPNG students on the 8th of June 2016. The episode here in Moresby has triggered riot in Hagen and Hagen Park students took it to the streets causing havoc. Properties damaged, windscreen to vehicles smashed and houses suffered extensive damages. Not long, an Engan student from Lae University of Technology sustained multiple injury inflicted by Southern Highlands students. Souths, in show of solidarity to Souths power (Peter O’Neil & UoT SRC President), turned their vendetta on rest of the students and inflicted pain and misery

  by JAMES MENAPA -NIUGINI OUTLOOK Although Peter O'Neill's conspicuous move towards dismembering democratic institutions has forced us to see that we no longer have a democracy, Michael Somare not only proclaimed in the 1990s that he would willingly serve as PNG's 'benevolent dictator' but took all the actions during this 10 years in power to make that a realit y. The only different between Somare and O'Neill is that Somare is not a psychopath, but a political schemer and payback operator who failed to intellectually take his dream of dictatorship to the next higher level. The corruption during the Somare regime was driven by his cronies, including son Arthur, rather than Somare himself. Peter O'Neill was able to structure a PNG dictatorship to a higher, more sophisticated and more stable level. NIUGINI OUTLOOK When a student from the National Polytechnic Institute in Lae messaged us some weeks back about a surprise visit of Peter Ipatas to their school to speak to students, something about the story did not add up. It was not that we ended up doubting the informant. We finally were able to cross check what they told us. Instead it was some Ipatas actions that got us thinking. When he visited the Polytech, we were told that he carried a large bundle of O'Neill advertisements that had come out in the newspapers, where the PM lamely explained why he was not stepping down (those arguments were mostly delegitimised within days by the facts). He left the bundle behind, but did not seem all that interested in distributing them and many of them were left to turn into rubbish. The Department of Higher Education Research and Technology(DHERST) has already paid in the first part of the K900 for each TESAS student. Divine Word University Administration has been keeping it a secret so that no student knows. To make matters worse, a student asked about this allowance during a student Forum.
